Thank you so much for this video! Dealer was going to charge hundreds just to "diagnose" the issue, but this worked perfectly for my 2013 Veloster. This was the first time I did my own car repair, and it only took about 30 minutes. You rock!

I already had pry tools from replacing all my speakers. I change my own spark plugs and oil too. About those blue clips that were hard to pull off and you were concerned about breaking? Just shove a 7mm socket over that. It compresses the tabs on the clips just enough to slip right out. Changed that part this morning and you video was on point. Thanks.
Thanks Man. My wife broke mine yesterday. I ordered the part on eBay for about 20 dollars. Will work on install when the part arrives. If I can install a system and upgrade all of the speakers in this thang I should be able to install one button. Thanks for the guidance!
thanks for the video and how DYI. I also took my car to the dealership and they wanted to charge me $400 just to replace the rear sensor button. I said screw that and order OEM part myself and did by following your video guide and it was easy to install.

Thanks for editing out some of the bits that would have been helpful. We broke the inside hatch cover, whereas yours just teleported off via a filming cut after talking up your prying tool.

Anyone figure out how to open the hatch when latch is busted and won’t open? I see this question is common. When the button is done you can use the key fob to open, when the latch is done neither the button or fob will open. Any ideas?
Hey thanks! My button desintegrated too. I broke some of those yellow clips that held the big plastic cover over the whole hatch. I hope it does not rattle now. Did using that tool prevented that to happen?
yeah you can open it from the inside! just get into your trunk and find a hole right in the center of the trunk door. insert a flat head, key, or even a screwdriver so you can manually move a lever in there to the right which will unlock the door. while holding the lever to the right, use your other hand to push open the door and WALAH its open!

There's an opening in the interior of the trunk where you stick your key in to manually move the lever to the right to allow the trunk to open

Mine is a 2013, there is a slot on the inside of the hatch door. It has a picture of a key on it, slip a key in it and open in from the inside

There's a lever inside the hatch from the trunk side that you put the key in and move to unlock it

If you go in through the back door, you can use the keys to open the trunk from the inside
