- this week we have a special episode today for @chrisbentleywalkingandrambling!
he asked me to scoot the iconic bean sculpture, real name "the cloud gate." we'll ride through a busy morning in chicago's city center in the shadows of the skyscrapers on our way to millenium park. i have a short run in with security there and then make a second stop at crown fountain, aka the faces fountain. these fun spots are must-see destinations for anyone visiting chicago. located in millenium park, which turns 20 this year, they are both close to the lakefront, maggie daley park, buckingham fountain, and the museum campus!

The Bean is absolutely beautiful. I love that it is seamless, too. You get to see the city through so many angles. I hadn't realised it was so big and heavy too. Thank you so much for scooting there, Anne. You have really made my day. I loved the fountain, too. That is so unique. The spitting water did make me laugh. Love the sound when you speed up the stop footage. 🤣🤣Especially explaining the turn signals! We know Chris and I found myself wondering how he knew it was here? I hadn't heard about it before. Unique art and love seeing all the folks in the reflection. Enjoyed seeing the 1000 faces. At first I thought he was puckering up for a kiss. Not often I see you scooting right in the thick of the city. Great that they have lanes all around and it was quick scenic with all the different coloured high rises. I'd be more wary of those pedestrians stepping out than the traffic on this one. The mirrored egg was pretty cool but not sure I'd be looking at myself for too long in it if I was there. The faces fountain was sure unique and I'd be glad my face wasn't up on there. You never know I may make it to Chicago one day 🙂
thank you paul! i usually time my citycenter scoots to as to not be in rush hour. but this time i went with the time i could get it done. you are so right with the pedestrians here, they do not look into the bike lanes at all! it really is fun to peer up into the bean at all the reflections. i think your mug would look just great up on the fountains and i really hope you do make it one day 🛴❤️

Amazing scooting adventure. I've read before this, the Obama Presidential Center is located around there. Is it done or still under construction perhaps you can show the place next time when you're free. 👍🏻
