I think the air cooled vanagon is the most underrated bus in the VW scene. I love em and have owned one for 18years. Thank you guys for saving another one. 😉👍
Seaside is proving to be an adventure in VW life. I can't wait for the sweet sound of her purring to life. Thanks for the fantastic content. Your videos are gold.
Well boys there you go, these vanagons have a life of there own. I have a 1980 air cooled Westi, had it 42 years this October, and over the last 7 years have replaced just about everything, and let me tell you, each day is still a adventure! Youmjust never know whats gonna happen when you turn that key! So good luck with the old girl, and thanks for all the laughs! You all make a good team, and produce the best content, so thanks for that!
When I got my 1978 VW Riviera 10 years ago, I read on The Samba about a guy using a boiling pot of water to soften those plastic pieces of warped cabinet trim and then pushing them back into place. I haven’t worked up the courage to fish parts out of boiling water so mine are still warped. Heat gun! Brilliant!! As Basil Fawlty would say. I learn something every time I watch your channel. Thanks.😎👍
I know it takes a great deal of effort to produce these videos, but I think a lot of us here in VW land sure look forward to the Thursday lunch accomplishments.
Thank you Gary, for correctly pronouncing Oregon. Not "Oragone", lke so many wonks are doing. Long time subscriber from Oregon, Todd the retired trucker.
Yeah! Great job! Check the Fuel Pressure Regulator, too - if it’s bad, the rail won’t get up to pressure, even with a new pump. Also you can replace the vacuum hose to it, which is always crispy and broken.
Admit it, you were intrigued by all the cool stuff Joann's has. I used to be timid, but I walk in like I own the place now. Next time I go, I'll be sure and tell them VWLife sent me, and that I get a 50% discount coupon for mentioning you guys 😄😄
Great video as always My wife bought a 90 tin top and once I got it running I needed to fill up the tank. Went down the street to the gas station and just as I was going to stop filling fuel started raining down from the top of the tank, so I had to drain the tank and do the same rebuild
Good stuff, yes it seems harder than it is. we were talking about how they finally made it possible to access the gas tank without pulling the motor in a vanagon, not the case with a bay or split
You guys continue to amaze me. The videos are great and the sticktoivnous is awesome. Now then, the bodywork on my 69 is close to being done. The original paint was Montana Red. You gotta recommendation for a paint company? Also, let me know when your upholstery shop will open.
well charles, if you can find a local paint shop with good recommendations that would be the way to go! I know of some here in Texas Caney Creek Restoration in Conroe TX is one. There is another in San Antonio
Coleman’s Upholstery LLC in Kentucky .We are almost a year out on work.Crazy times .Everyone goes to college instead of learning a trade .We are getting old and youngins don’t like hard work today
That Vanagon is really working you guys hard. It sounds like there’s no spark and also there’s some type of a vacuum leak. I hope you guys can get it sorted out and get it running.
If it hasn't already been mentioned, let that glue sit for 15 min on each piece separate & dry to a tacky consistency & you won't need clips, it'll stick so good you'll never get it apart again.
I have to admire how 5 guys can get along and work on projects without getting mad at each other. Good job guys.
We cut out those scenes 😎

Before you do a fuel tank, it's impossible. After, it's easy :D
that's exactly how we felt about it!!!
How many VW Lifers does it take to reupholster one panel? :)
