I think Bluey is a pretty example of how to embrace your childish side, but still being responsible. The parents aren’t perfect, but it’s the way they interacted with their kids that made me wish that’s how I was treated as a kid. Bandit is a the fun loving dad (that fan sometimes get a BIT too into the bit.) who’s still responsible. Chilli is the more serious mom, but she still likes playing with her kids. I remember watching this show as a kid. I was about the same age as you. It was so disturbingly weird that it was hard to look away. Morbid curiosity motivated me to watch, instead of actual enjoyment, like how normal shows are SUPPOSED to make you feel. To this day, the theme song plays in my head whenever I hear the word "meaty," and I would like financial compensation for my suffering, please.
I don’t normally like reminiscing but you’ve been giving me back such a good part of my childhood. Don’t have to mention this in this a vid, just wanna say thank you. Really appreciate your content my guy.

Hello. I'm a fast food worker, at a terrible restaurant called Taco John's. I don't recommend it. Tho it does have the best tator tots ever. Evenway, I was only given enough hours to make it by. And in those hours, I'm constantly finding myself overworked, having to do multiple jobs by myself. And even tho I became a team lead, I didn't get a raise. So I got a lot more responsibility shoved on to me for nothing in return. I've put in my two weeks cause I had to get out of there as soon as possible for my own mental health. And right now I'm trying to look for a new job. Which is hard cause I live in a small town. Any suggestions? lol. Which is why I'm only donating the minimal amount. But I also wanted to say thanks. Also, its nice seeing how wholesome your content is. And it helps me destress and relax. Also I can't imagine how hard it must've been as a 911 operator. Seriously, Thank you for all the work you have and are still doing. You have definitely improved a lot of people's lives. 💜
Oh, man. I've never been to Taco John's, but I've heard stories lmao. If I ever make it to one, I'll be sure to try the tots, because I'm a sucker for a good tater haha. For me, working for massive corporations as the means for them to make a buck drove me nuts. Like, when I worked at a call center for a huge cable company, I was getting paid minimum wage to do nothing but deliver bad news all day, meanwhile, the higher ups and corporation as a whole makes billions of dollars. SOO many of these companies are quick to treat people like pawns. Nothing is worse than being at a career where you feel like a number. Feeling like you could be easily replaced... It's just sad and I'm sorry to hear that Taco John's put you in the kind of situation where they increased your responsibilities but not your pay. That's just awful. I'm wishing you the best on the hunt for a new career. For me, when I was in a VERY similar position, I promised myself that my next job would be doing something where I can make a difference, but at the same time, not be a tool for someone else to make profit. That's what lead me to becoming a 911 dispatcher. It's tough. Jobs like that will take very good care of you, but it's crucial to make sure that you take care of yourself. If I had any advice, it would be to find a career where you aren't someone else's means to making profit. If I weren't focusing on UA-cam, I'd be going through the steps of becoming an electrician and starting my own business.
I remember this show and I remember the tapeworm episode! I must have been around 13 when I was watching this show. I always loved puppets but I found this show to be incredibly creepy and that tapeworm episode gave me nightmares. I don’t think Mr. Meaty should have been a kid show, it should have been on adult swim but that’s my interpretation
Thanks! I love your videos and what you do I appreciate everything you do in work on in and outside of internet. And even though some comments say they don't like. You saying thanks so much. Even though I wasn't a part of the 90 Tear I still was Was born in 2005, so I was seeing reruns on TV. Mr. Meaty wasn't exactly the TV show I paid attention to but it just felt weird to pay attention to it you were right who asked for show 😂I appreciate what you do and you all your hard work. I'm glad one of your videos showed up in my recommendations. I've watched a handful of your videos and I love them. Reliving my past with others like this is amazing to me. Keep up the amazing work and always remember to be kind to yourself when you may need it most
This is the only episode of this show I remember so well. This is how me and my siblings found out what a tapeworm is. We would joke around with each other saying "you're gonna get a tapeworm" while eating likens burger or something.
This and "Wormy" from Spongebob are two episodes I REFUSE to ever watch again, especially the latter! How they thought kids staring at a horsefly would be entertaining, I'll never know. Always love your content my dude! Please keep up your amazing reviews and discussions! -jjj6
Thanks for your support, friend! I totally agree about Wormy, though. Seeing that close shot as a kid absolutely made me terrified of insects. As an adult, I've grown past it, but JEEZ. They didn't have to make kids see that lmao.
Hey man, thanks for the videos you sent out each time it comes out. Also I always wonder, have you ever hear the tragedy of Darth plagues the wise? If not, I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a sith legend.🧐
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself. 🤣
I was born in 2000 and saw it only a few times and completely forgot about it, but when I saw it again, I remembered watching it with my brother and we thought it was the weirdest kind of funny show. I don't remember this episode though. Great videos as always Shawn
Thanks, friend! I talked about Teen Titans just a tiny bit in a SUPER old video but it was WAAAAAAAAAY different than my content is now. I feel like if I approached it in the way that my content is now, it would really scratch that itch for me! Thanks for your support and recommendation! I really appreciate it :D
this show scared me so much i purposely avoid this video but now its the only video from your channel i havent watched. im about to power thru this video tho. keep up the goof work :)
This show was absolutely grotesque dialed to 10. I think the only episode I liked out of it was the farting one, because that was one of the only "normal" episodes. No aliens, no demons, no monsters, no parasites, just Josh accidentally farting in front of a girl and Parker laughing his a** off.
Josh wasn't trying to cook the patty in the microwave, cheap fast food places tend to have packages of preprocessed frozen patties as their burger base instead of conventional beef packages, meaning you have a bunch of premade patties you have to defrost first. Usually I believe this means setting out patties under a heat lamp at the beginning of the work day before opening, so they can be thawed and ready to grill by the time customers come. Josh simply got an extra patty from the back for himself, and started defrosting it in the microwave since that's faster than manually letting them thaw.
This show was actually intended for teenagers, as stated by executive producer Jack Lenz, who compared it directly to Beavis and Butthead, but for some strange reason they moved the show from Nickelodeon to Nicktoons 5 months after it started airing, resulting in it being exposed to a bunch of pre pre teens and traumatizing basically all of them.
8:53 is when the super thanks stop. And yes, I'm going to timestamp that. There is a time and place for this stuff, but not IN the first THIRD of a video that's supposed to be about Mr. Meaty. I don't remember seeing that advertised in the thumbnail or title, might as well have subjected everyone to a 9 minute ad break.
If I could donate more, I would, but unfortunately, I am broke, I just want to thank you, I suffer with mental stuff, and your videos help to keep my mind off all that ❤️
Thank you so so so much for your donation, my friend! That helps me and my family a ton and your support means the world to me. I'm so glad that my videos help keep your mind at ease
Okay, so i was 9 when this show came out and i was drawn in immediately, the horror is so deeply disturbing and it takes place somewhere completely mundane. Chefs kiss
The fact that the tapeworm episode is the ONLY episode of Mr. Meaty I remember, I convinced myself for a long time that the show just never had any more episodes or something LOL
hey 2005 here! i do remember this episode and its soooo disturbing i was a little disturbed but u couldn't look away but i may be bias i went on to watch corage and robot chicken so
NO. Shawn, first off, another banger like the Duel Masters video. Another show I felt like the only person that watched it. This show was AMAZING and the written comedy and subtleties of the voice acting went over a lot of children’s heads. Kids tend to obsess over visuals and slapstick. But even though this show was of course visually absurd, the BEST comedy bits are the character interactions and occasional 4th wall breaks. My ADULT mother found this show hilarious and she wasn’t a fan of cartoons. This show was comedy GOLD and I feel like it’s like Shark Tale, one of those properties that maybe ONE OR TWO people complained about and it became group think and “cool” to hate on it. Just my take. Great vid.
Not going to lie this show makes my skin crawl to this day I can not watch this even seeing this video my skin feels gross and I had to shower but thank you for what you do by the way
This is my first time seeing and hearing abt this show. It seems funny but with a weird/uncomfortable feeling. Overall from what you talked abt and showed, I give it a 7.5/10😂
Yet another video I could not forwardly watch- but always pleasant to just listen to ya, friend. This show was DEFINITELY off my watch table even as a kid. I took one look at it, scrunched my nose and ran to CartoonNetwork. Genuinely don’t know how stuff like that gets on the air.
Hi, Shawn! I'm a long time listener (i like to have your videos on in the background while I draw), first time commenter, and I just wanted to say I really admire how much time and energy you put into all of your videos. Your Spongebob and Hey Arnold videos especially are my favorites. I knew deep down when I saw the thumbnail for this video that it was going to be the tapeworm episode. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's been tormented by it for the past 18 years. It's really amazing how burned into my memory this episode is despite having only seen it the one time. I could practically see the scenes from the clips you shared and it was just as gross as I remember. Thanks again for all your hard work, I hope you and your family have a wonderful day!
Hello! Shawn! Glad I made in the shout out! Also I'm probably one of the few who loves Mr. Meaty! Although I'm pretty sure when people thinks about this show they Instantly thinks about the gross tapeworm episode! Also I Was here since 5K subscribers! Also in your Danny Phantom video I realized you and I BOTH is the same age and graduated high school in the same year of 2012! Yet you're more successful in life with a wife, kids and a UA-cam career! 😢
I genuinely appreciate hearing a UA-camr say thanks to the viewers like you do, I think it’s incredibly kind of you and makes you an amazing person it’s not the reason why I keep coming back, but it does make it like the sprinkles on the Ice Cream Sunday!!❤😂
So another UA-camr (Slow Start) quoting someone that worked for Hasbro making children’s toys says that for young boys, the top 4 qualities in the types of toys they like are: Athletic, Cool, games of skill, and gross-out. I’d imagine this transfers over to Mr. Meaty as well. It’s pretty clear the show was engineered to be as gnarly as possible, which would be appealing to that specific demographic
It's funny. I was watching another video last night that talked about Mr. Meaty for a bit.... As for this show. I just never gave much of a shit about it. I was 14, it was 2006 and obvious that this wasn't the Nick I enjoyed earlier in my youth. It didn't feel the same anymore, all the shows from my earlier youth were gone except Spongebob, on that note, I was still watching the show with at least SOME consistency, but it'd been obvious for a year at that point that it was a hollow shell of the first three seasons, there was a revolving door of shows I had varying levels of care for, and the only show I TRULY cared about was ATLA. It was more that Nick had changed than that I had/grown up. I was probably more indifferent than unimpressed. Looking at it now, I'm more grossed out with it now than back in 2006. And you drove it home how much the two main characters both suck as people. To the point it's about no wonder they're friends. I don't blame you for never wanting to cover this show again. This show also has elements of The Regular Show to me even though that wouldn't be out for another 4 years. But of course Regular Show's FAR better.
Whoa, I completely forgot about this show! I can't even remember if I ever watched it. I knew of it but I don't have any memories of actually watching it but at the same time, I feel like I did watch it. That probably makes no sense but you ever get that feeling where you have no memories of watching something but after hearing of it, you're like "huh, maybe I did watch it?" 😂
YESSSSSS. That was me with Whatever Happened to Robot Jones over on Cartoon Network! Like, I KNEW that I watched it at some point... But then I watch the episodes nowadays and it's way different than I remembered.... It has me like, wait, did I ever even watch that show? 🤔
Tom Delonge is the greatest song writer Synester Gates is the greatest guitarist and Billy Mays is the best salesman…Also I’m the greatest Pokémon Go player..😘😘
"between the two of them and how they look and act - I just kinda feel like using gorilla glue for eye drops" @24:18 HASSSSS MEEEE CACKINGGGGG IN MY HOME OFFICE BECAUSE SAMEEEEEEEEE
loved this show, I wished they woulda released it complete on DVD. it was sooo bombastic, experimental & cool. Nickelodeon would neeever try something as unique as this show ever again.
This episode fucked me up thought if I would be a quote “mucher” I would get a giant tape worm in me and would not be able eat ever again then would die but i didn’t understand the end even as a kid alone in his room kinda fucked me up even more, ig you could say that it scared me straight. Thank you nick for this childhood trauma. And thanks Shawn for unlocking a memory I wished I forgot
I was 8 years old when this show came on in 2006 and this show was one of the first times i almost step away from nickelodeon but still there was spongebob drake and josh avatar, ect ect, there were still good shows back than until this came along, even before the horrible terrible acting of i carly came a couple years later, i still stayed on watching nickelodeon at the time
I tried to describe this specific episode to my wife and couldn't because I'd start laughing too hard. It's funny in a way that you can't really imagine why they made it. This was absolutely INSANE for kid's TV.
I am so glad you did a video on mr meaty!! I was born in 1997 and i used to watch this show everyday after i got home from school (from kindergarten to about 3rd grade) i can tell you right now it was one of those things where yes it did gross me out and lowkey scared me. It didnt scare me enough to make me stop watching or give me nightmares it was more unsettling type of scared. It did make me laugh but the laughter would quickly fade into confusion and a feeling of "ugh oh god" 😂😂😂 Like a car crash. Its messed up but i cant look away
Before I even watch this video I think I know what you are talking about. If it’s what I’m thinking this show really squicked me out when I was younger. I make horrory indie games and I think this one and courage the cowardly dog are part of the reason I make them! I guess we will see if it’s what I’m thinking…😅
So, I wanna say I was around 12 or so when this came out but I never gave it the time of day when it aired. When I was in college, a friend of mine had talked about it and said they enjoyed it to which I was shocked because it really did look like such a disgusting show that I couldn’t see anyone really liking. So, I gave it a chance as an adult and to my surprise, I ended up genuinely liking the humor. I haven’t seen every episode but something about this show’s timing with its jokes and its bizarre set ups just does something for me. I think I can just imagine the writers being like, “Yeah, this is an effed up scenario but we’re gonna act like this is just like every other Tuesday for these characters.” which gives it this awkward edge. I love awkward and dark humor and I think it’s something I only could’ve enjoyed as an adult.
"All Gods creatures! Fresh off the grill! So come on down to Mr. Meaty where friends meet to eat MEAT!" As cursed as the show was I loved it lol
The song was so catchy!!! And kind of disturbing 🤣 It's been stuck in my head nonstop since making this video.
I thought they said something else lol
I watch it still and I’m damn near 29 😭 I have a bad day I go home and knock my tv back to the 2000s watching whatever I can
Those lyrics go hard.
I loved it too

I was 10 when this show was airing and I LOVED it! It never creeped me out the way other people say. It was a very popular show in my house- you wouldn't think a family of all daughters would enjoy it, but we did!
It's bizzare, but I appreciate it for that.
I remember laughing at some bits fairly often, kinda considered it the same as cartoons which made similar jokes around the time.
I was traumatized as a kid from the tapeworm episode
It's burned into my brain and I can't unsee it lmao
Same lol
Bro this show looks scarier than courage the cowardly dog, and that’s really saying *something*
Hahahahahaha, yeah.
This show burned itself into my subconscious after just a few minutes... 🤣
definitely nightmare fuel.
It is scarier in comparison, courage is horror but this is something that feels carnal. Like it puts you in a sort of fight or flight feeling
Courage after viewing this show: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
@@DuskTillShawnThis is by far the worst Nickelodeon show in history it is just downright atrocious.
Puppets are right in the pit of the uncanny valley, courage was mostly in 2D animation, only using 3D or claymation or puppetry for scary characters.
I'm NEVER forgetting that tapeworm episode
I remember watching this show back in sixth grade, and unlike most kids at the time, I absolutely loved and got a kick out of it. 😂

Mr.Meaty was such a weird show and felt like a fever dream most of the time.
I found it weird and had terrifying moments (like the founder body in the freezer) but I didn’t think it SUPER bad compared to other shows
It def had those weird moments, for sure lol. It makes me happy to see some of these positive comments! A lot of people are quick to say bad things about this show, but I really wanna see some positives from the huge group of people who loved it! :D

Mr. Meaty is such an anomaly among Nickelodeon shows
RIGHT?! This show was such a massive outlier in comparison to the rest of their shows.
I think Bluey is a pretty example of how to embrace your childish side, but still being responsible.
The parents aren’t perfect, but it’s the way they interacted with their kids that made me wish that’s how I was treated as a kid.

Always love your content my dude! Please keep up your amazing reviews and discussions!

Thanks for your support, friend! I totally agree about Wormy, though. Seeing that close shot as a kid absolutely made me terrified of insects. As an adult, I've grown past it, but JEEZ. They didn't have to make kids see that lmao.
Wormy is the scariest Nicktoons character ever created and solos the Return the Slab guy
One of my favorite shows as a kid. I loved the one music video they made.
Who remembered when one of the characters nose fell off?
Didn't that one character's nose end up in a burger or something? I was 11 when the show came out. I was so grossed out
@@90ejb Something like that. I just remember being so shocked seeing it
I remembered that episode!!
It's still a shock value.
Gotta give the creators of Mr Meaty credit, they thought outside the box with puppets instead of regular cartoons
Love your vids! Hope you do a video on teen titans one day!
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird how Parker has the smallest eyes and the puppets never blink.
I like your voice Shawn, it’s so calming for some reason lololol
Agree!
I respectfully disagree I feel like fanboy and chum chum was more disturbing that any cartoon they’ve ever released
Mr Meaty was underrated comedy gold.
Video starts at 10:43
it is actually insane that the start is that far into the video
8:53 is when the super thanks stop.
And yes, I'm going to timestamp that.
There is a time and place for this stuff, but not IN the first THIRD of a video that's supposed to be about Mr. Meaty. I don't remember seeing that advertised in the thumbnail or title, might as well have subjected everyone to a 9 minute ad break.
While I can understand some people not liking it, I liked this show and I still remember it's theme song. The hate for it kinda seemed overblown.
Now that i remember this episode, this made me think i would get a tapeworm from overeating
I remember when it first aired. I felt like I was the only one in my school who knew what this show was 😂
Okay, so i was 9 when this show came out and i was drawn in immediately, the horror is so deeply disturbing and it takes place somewhere completely mundane. Chefs kiss
For me Nickelodeon ended when ATLA did. Fanboy & ChumChum and Planet Sheen ruined the channel forever.
Been watching your videos for a few weeks now I love the watch you go over cartoons.
The fact that the tapeworm episode is the ONLY episode of Mr. Meaty I remember, I convinced myself for a long time that the show just never had any more episodes or something LOL
hey 2005 here! i do remember this episode and its soooo disturbing i was a little disturbed but u couldn't look away but i may be bias i went on to watch corage and robot chicken so
I was 15 in 2006 and absolutely loved this show.
Great vid.
The tapeworm episode had me say what the
What’s even crazier is that One of em got a NeuraLink at 11:36
I absolutely remember this episode and i remember laughing my butt off at this but also being terrified of tape worms because of it
Not going to lie this show makes my skin crawl to this day I can not watch this even seeing this video my skin feels gross and I had to shower but thank you for what you do by the way
This is my first time seeing and hearing abt this show.
Ngl I'd love you to make another Ren and Stimpy video
I will! I just always have to brace myself for the comments because people always POP OFF in the comments anytime I talk about Ren and Stimpy 🤣
Also nice SpongeBob refrence to squidsville one of my favorite episodes
Hehehe me too! I love that episode. :D
Am i the only one who can appreciate the nuances of this ambitious cinematic masterpiece?
I saw something online that said the Manager in this show look exactly like Wes Anderson and I haven’t been able to sleep since
Whoa, I completely forgot about this show!
This show was underrated and hilarious. It could’ve easily been a sketch on adult swim too 😂
Tom Delonge is the greatest song writer Synester Gates is the greatest guitarist and Billy Mays is the best salesman…Also I’m the greatest Pokémon Go player..😘😘
Hahaha Team Instinct ftw!
Thanks for your donation, friend!!! I really appreciate it :D
Can't wait to read this out in a future superthanks sunday!
@@DuskTillShawn Team Instinct #1!!!Love your vids bro!Keep up the good work!
Keith Lee should watch this 🤣🤣
Omg!!! I blocked those scary faces out of my memory completely!! 😭 something’s you don’t wanna remember lol
I loved this show. Used to make me laugh all the time.
"between the two of them and how they look and act - I just kinda feel like using gorilla glue for eye drops" @24:18 HASSSSS MEEEE CACKINGGGGG IN MY HOME OFFICE BECAUSE SAMEEEEEEEEE
The music video was top tier
loved this show, I wished they woulda released it complete on DVD. it was sooo bombastic, experimental & cool.
Babe wake up Shaun has blessed us with another video. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!!
One of my favorite shows. It was just straight up everything insane in a puppet show. Don't hug me I'm scared comes in second for mad show.
The Tapeworm episode was definitely a highlight.
It did make me laugh but the laughter would quickly fade into confusion and a feeling of "ugh oh god" 😂😂😂
Like a car crash.
You're the absolute greatest, Untrustedlife. I really appreciate all of your support recently and your donations
@@DuskTillShawnit was!
I really love your videos, your observations and research was amazing I never knew that my childhood shows got so much mystery's I really love it❤.
This show feels like the Nickelodeon equivalent of ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’
Thanks!
Thank you so so so much for watching and for your donation! I really appreciate your support :D
this episode is the only episode i ever remembered from this show, and its obviously for a reason lmao
