Hiking Constellation Trails Plane Crash Site, Prescott AZ

Constellation trails is a network of short trails found in the riparian nature preserve of Prescott AZ, more commonly known as The Dells near Watson Lake and Willow Lake. The outer loop is about 3 miles long but there's a whole crisscross of smaller trails interconnecting it. The trail is marked by white dots painted on the granite boulders, and it can be hard to follow at times.
The trail gets its name from a United States Air Force Lockheed C-121G "Super Constellation" transport plane that crashed at that location in 1959, and the reason behind the crash remains unknown. Small pieces of the wreck can still be found.
