I work in the walker area in prescott, cleaning for the mountain people! People live all over in those mountains and there are now mining operations going on again. The walker community is great. Personally, i live off montezuma. One of the best things prescott does is their veterans day parade. Everyone gets gussied up, including the veterans, and comes down to the square for community love. The historical preservation committee in prescott works so hard to make sure we keep these buildings as authentic in its historic significance as possible. Renovations on any historic building must be approved by the city first. They take it very seriously.
I reside in Prescott. Whiskey Row has a nice vibe. You can even walk around with your family. Very good Law Enforcement presence. Prescott leans conservative, even though some locals say it’s 50 percent liberal. Appears to have a good percentage of retired folks. Not perfect, but where is? Parking downtown can be a little challenging, especially on the weekends. Weekends can be busy as many folks from Phoenix come to visit. Prescott is at a higher elevation and is noticeably cooler. Sometimes, it gets snow in the winter. We lived at another higher elevation residence & got slammed with snow. But, about a mile down the road (lower elevation) there was very little snow. Prescott puts on a nice rodeo, if that’s your thing. Some good history of the Old West here.
The county went for Trump just under 2 to 1 in 2020, but it is also pretty likely that Prescott residents run a bit more Democrat than the county at large.

Thanks for your videos. Being an Arizona native, I love the little Arizona towns you've done. Have to agree with a comment that I'd prefer to view the actual town while listening to the conversation. You passed up lots of great town gems while the camera on you & Ron. Love my Preskit... been here 27 years now, both my adult boys born here & hope to stay the rest of my life. I totally agree, the prices to live here have become unacceptable. Our home value has gone up 30% in the 8 years we've had it. Born and raised in So Cal moved to Prescott in the mid 90’s we loved it there had a great view of Thumb Butte out of our kitchen window. My wife’s dad had heart surgery unfortunately he had an allergic reaction to one of the medications an ended up passing away we moved back to be near her mother. Preskitt was affordable back then. Anytime we had visitors had to take them to Jerome great time been back a few times since to hang out in whiskey row!! The Hawsayampa (spelling) inn was a great place to stay with all the rooms differently decorated. We lived off of white spur on Tanglewood Skull valley was kinda cool ! Great video even though it’s been over 25 years since living there!🇺🇸🗽🎉🎊
My dad moved to Prescott valley in the mid 80 back then their was maybe 5 houses in that' area.. Sandy market was the only gas station on Robert road. Then I moved to Prescott valley in the mid 90... It's getting to be like a little Phoenix

It really isn’t unless you’re lumping Libertarians (Liberal Conservatives) into the same pot. I’ve been a contractor out here for quite a long time and while I’ve had a few hardcore Conservative clients here and there, the majority are either Independent or watered-down Libertarians like myself. I’d suggest looking into it because you might find it really suits you because life is so much easier when you aren’t forced to align with either of the two party systems.

Interesting conversation, but I kinda wish you had showed more of the city, like you did of Jerome. Like, maybe actually drive by Ft. Whipple so people can get a sense of it. You also could have shown the Dells, more of downtown, the Butte, and maybe Prescott College and Yavapai college would have interested outsiders. When I first came to visit, the sense of a walkable town with an old-fashioned town square attracted me, and I agree it is a shame that it is all so expensive! It is a safe, clean, old-school standard and culture town. Keep it this way! No need for any outsider to try bringing in gentrification. PresCOTT went down when 20 + years ago retirement mags told the world it was a #1 place to retire. The results? Ridiculous prices for housing, roads worse than any I have seen in 4 western states, subpar medical care, which is dominated by seniors needing treatment. EVERYONE, including us, go to Phoenix for a large % of care. Traffic is getting ridiculous. Go ahead, run me out of town, I say PRESCOTT, had 2 friends named Scott, never called them skit. People from Kaligrad either bring their politics with them, or are political regugees. It took me a while to figure out the corrupted politics of Az. Oh, yeah, the courthouse square? Nice feature, but not any better than hundreds of these across the midwest/south. PreSCOTT still has attraction, but the shine is going off, unless you are a millionaire.
The county is about 70% MAGA and is home to a few flat earthers….. but…….many, many people are friendly and helpful. Prescott and Prescott Valley are very dog friendly.

We are looking at social security and a small pension to live on. It was a foreclosure and very run down and we have been working on it since 2011. And yes, I know Prescott it isn't only a retirement town and I do feel bad for young people struggling to build a life, but today's situation isn't my fault. I don't vote for the Democrats, who are the ones that made this mess. Who did you vote for in 2020? My youngest daughter, who is in her 20's, would love to move there and was offered a job, but can't find affordable housing. My middle daughter lives in Sahuarita and was offered a job at the hospital in Prescott, but it doesn't pay enough for them to afford a house there. Her husband is a disabled army vet and cannot work and gets a small disability check. My oldest daughter and son in law and their two children live in Prescott Valley. My granddaughter just graduated from Prescott High in May and is holding down 2 part time jobs as well as dog sitting and going to college there. My son in law commuted from Prescott Valley to Riverside, CA for a year in order for them to be able to move there. He now works for a private company thankfully, but has to leave home for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. So yes, I do realize how hard it is for young people and for everyone who isn't wealthy. My suggestion to you is to vote out the idiots running our country and perhaps things will get better for everyone.
For the record, no, the word "bar" is not short for "beer and alcohol room". Nice tour of the town, though. It would be on my short list as a retirement destination in a few years if I could ever convince my wife to move there, which is unlikely.
Our family moved there from Phoenix in 75. It was a nice town then. Now housing is sky high and lots of overpriced restaurants and not enough doctors. You can pretty much thank the Californians who have moved there driving up the price of everything. Just like a plague of locusts.
Excellent video. Got a little weird toward the end when this local went on a political life story rant. Better advice than what he gave in terms of finding housing for the younger generation is to wait for a crash or buy in a cheaper area in AZ.

It’s valid, and if it doesn’t float your boat then it’s probably not a town you’d want to live in. My pet pea of Prescott is the large growth with a lot of big city folks not slowing down in their driving habits. The traffic noise is getting louder every day, too.

Fair enough, although I will say everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter who I interview. I did not feel like any of the remarks were over the top political, rather just one man’s opinion, and how he feels about living in the town as a long time resident. I felt I was fair in the interview, and I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, which is why I am proud to be American and I enjoy making these videos with all kinds of people. For the record, no, the word "bar" is not short for "beer and alcohol room". Nice tour of the town, though. It would be on my short list as a retirement destination in a few years if I could ever convince my wife to move there, which is unlikely.
Our family moved there from Phoenix in 75. It was a nice town then. Now housing is sky high and lots of overpriced restaurants and not enough doctors. You can pretty much thank the Californians who have moved there driving up the price of everything. Just like a plague of locusts.
Excellent video. Got a little weird toward the end when this local went on a political life story rant.
Better advice than what he gave in terms of finding housing for the younger generation is to wait for a crash or buy in a cheaper area in AZ.

It’s valid, and if it doesn’t float your boat then it’s probably not a town you’d want to live in. Just because I make a video with someone who wants to share their opinion which can provoke to share mine doesn’t box me in to any “group think” school of thought. If you watched my other videos and followed me off UA-cam you’d see that I’ve done interviews people of all different view points including being on multiple times with David Knight former of Infowars which is pretty much the opposite of a liberal media outlet. Don’t just a book by it’s cover. The purpose of this channel to showcase America.
Prescott is very conservative politically. If you aren’t, you might not enjoy it so much. That’s why.

My pet pea of Prescott is the large growth with a lot of big city folks not slowing down in their driving habits. The traffic noise is getting louder every day, too.

Geographically, an amazing place. However, just be warned if youre planning on moving here and your job has you deal with the public, it had one of the rudest and most entitled general populations ive ever run into.

Was uncomfortable about the snide remarks about Trump flags and right wing politics. Californians may bring in money but their policies are not welcome. Ron comes across as a bit of a know it all. My favorite part of the video was the walker with the cane that said Prescott instead of Pres”kit. I say Prescott. Not everyone follows Rons direction.
Fair enough, although I will say everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter who I interview. I did not feel like any of the remarks were over the top political, rather just one man’s opinion, and how he feels about living in the town as a long time resident. I felt I was fair in the interview, and I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, which is why I am proud to be American and I enjoy making these videos with all kinds of people. The MOST challenging thing is the weather. So I’m primarily researching the Sun belt States. I got 3 more years to go, so I’m doing as much planning as I can. I’m scared. I’m not gonna know anybody… I wanna make as many good decisions as I can. This is gonna be it for me…
