Very helpful video just bought a new battery for my bike and have never filled one before. With following this videos instructions it was a piece of cake. Thank you!!
Hello. I, in a hurry of course, emptied the bottle into the battery and put the caps on immediately after and did not let it sit for at least 20min. with the caps off. Is the battery going to be ok? Thank you -Clay
What if i filled the battery but don't have a battery charger because no where in the instructions that came with my battery did it ever say that I would need to charge the battery before installing?
Is that sealing cap all that’s needed? I don’t need to put duct tape over it or anything? It won’t pop off when riding and spill that liquid all over the place?
Scott Steffy math was never my thing. Even 3rd grade math. : ) I just unhooked the Battery Tender JR from my new battery. Seems to have done the trick. Multimeter says it's at 12.87.
Hi sir, my scooter has Yuasa YTZ6V Battery. The charge gets low in just 2 days. Could this be refilled with distilled water or electrolyte? Thank you and more power
Per YUASA instruction manual. Step 5. Remove electrolyte container from battery. Step 6. Seal battery. Step 7. Wait for electrolyte absorption. Step 8. Charge battery. Shouldn't "Charge Battery" be after step 5? I have a pic of the instructions but don't know how to upload it.
No because you are waiting for the electrolyte to absorb into the glass mats in the battery, once that has been completed then you can charge the battery to top it off, the steps are correct.
I don’t have the alligator clips to hook up directly to the battery, but I do have it hardwired to my battery thru my motorcycle. Can I just install the battery and charge it through my bikes connection
I skipped to the beginning of the second battery as it’s the one I have. How comes he put the cap straight on? The instructions say let it sit fit a certain period depending on your battery type. Surprising yo get a misleading video from the manufacture
My battery didn't come with the red cap. It looks sulfated. Has air got in and damaged the battery,?? Previously I noticed batteries are vacuum sealed from new.
Hi. I ordered a Yuasa batery (YBX7005) On delivery a small amount of liquid drained out. Can anyone help me with an advice? What should I do? Can I self fill the batery? What should I use? Thank You.
Ugh! Basically none of this went as expected. I purchased a new battery from the shop. They filled it for me. I got it home and let it cool down. I took a reading at this point and it said 11.8v Lower than I would have expected. I put my charger on it (2amps is all I have). 5 hours went by and it was still not done. (Was getting 13.2 but it obviously started dropping as I watched it. I shut it off and went to bed. I checked it in the morning and it was at 12.17v I put the charger on it again for about 5 hours and it still didn’t finish charging. Now it’s at 12.25v I know it’s charging as it’s bubbling away. Anyone have a thought out there?
A year ago I put a new Yuasa YTX14-BS in my 2014 Kawasaki Concours C14. The battery will no longer charge enough to start the bike. Automatic charger indicates full charge, but it’s not enough. I suspect a dead cell but why? Can the battery be recovered? I’ve never had a battery die this quickly.
I had same problem I opened the top and added 2 bottle cap ( from coca cola bottle) of destiled wather in each cell. Now it's working great . I bought new battery just in case .
Hello, can you tell me, how long moto battery can sit on shelf in battery shop, before activation !? I bought new battery yesterday, and she is activated yesterday, but product date is 2019...is that ok?
Can you tell me what type battery you got and how you found the product date? I got a new one and it lasted less than a week and I don’t see anywhere that shows the product date.
You can only find the production date on the inside cardboard of the battery box. If you write your e-mail address, I can send you the video. (I don't have enough English)
My original stock Yuasa is 12 years old and has never failed to start my bike on the first try. I'm only replacing it (with a new Yuasa of course) because IT'S 12 YEARS OLD. 😄
I have these batteries in my 2007 and 2009 ATVs for quite some time now. These are the most reliable batteries I've ever seen and I live where it gets really cold. Only replacing with another Yuasa just in case due to the age..
Yuasa, you contradict yourself in this video when compared to at least one other of your videos. If you go the 5:20 mark on this video: ( ua-cam.com/video/eWJTdnF_Dfk/v-deo.html) you clearly say and show to NOT fully install the top cap before the first charge. Given the expansion of gases during a charge (and reading at least one comment from a person who posted on the video linked) the expansion can damage the battery housing and/or pop the top cover off. If this happens from following this video, will you warranty the battery?

Don't we supposed wait before sealing the battery? In the manual it says so.
Why do some people say charge the battery before putting the sealer cap on?
Air bubbles while plates do their reaction with the acid.
But the directions literally say do not charge with caps off lmao

overall helpful. just wish the lighting/backdrop was lighter to better see the components.
i use this battery 4 years until now its good working money save,, good jod yuasa battery
Me too brother. Yuasa is the only ones I use on my bikes.

Will a battery tender trickle charger work for the initial charge after filling the AGM battery?
As long as the output is < 2 amps, its fine. I used my battery tender jr for the initial charge and it worked great.
@@Dog-Jet is the Battery tender Jr 2 amps or more? Mine says .750 amps. (or do you mean 2 amps or less?)

Thank goodness for this video. I damn near crapped my pants when I opened the box an learned I needed pour sulfuric acid into the battery case!
Just dont get it on yourself and everything is ooooookay
Arm and hammer Baking soda is a good neutralizer for spills
T JO, same here. All battery replacement I've done in the past were 100% sealed and ready to drop in.

Thanks for your video...What should I do if I fill above the upper level line?
Bust out the bendy straws
Can you charge it using a jumper box

What battery do you recommend for a YZ250F 2019?
What if I skipped the “standing” step on my bottle supplied battery? The dealer never mentioned it. I charged it after I filled it. Is it ruined?
My battery didn't come with the red cap. It looks sulfated. Has air got in and damaged the battery,?? Previously I noticed batteries are vacuum sealed from new.
What will happen if i used the battery right away? Will it dramatically reduce the performance?
That's what I would like to know as well,!!

I caught that too... wish they’d answer!
Good observation. I noticed that too. In other videos, the cap is left loose to allow outgassing until after the 1st charge is complete.
Very good notice. I usually not fully install the top cap before the first charge.
Thank you. That observation is huge!!! But, what is "not fully install" cap? Put them on loosely, leave them off?
my battery did not come with the fluid. Where do I buy it?
Then u don't need it. It's already filled . Which u prolly found out lol
Brand new yuasa battery leaking out vent.
He says, in the beginning, to let the seal loose in the battery when charging the first time to let the gases escape!.
My instructions didnt say to do that... i already capped it
Excellent! Thanks!
Great video. Thanks
Like many things in life RTFM.
