I really don’t understand Blumhouse’s game plan the last few years-it seems to be to just release as many movies as possible, but they’ve gone to super low budget direct to streaming services type crap, and don’t seem to care about the quality of the product…are they just relying on the name making money for them? Just essentially scamming people with trash while they still have a brand some people haven’t figured out isn’t that great yet?… initially what they were doing with all the sequels and spin offs of all their franchises made a lot of sense as a business model-crap movies in general IMO, but it made sense…nowadays I just don’t know what they think they’re doing?…also interesting what you said about there but being a lot of horror in the movie- that seems to be a part if their plan nowadays too-really watered down, just jump scares no gore no tension etc (I don’t know this is the case but it’s what I’ve heard on review of a lot of their recent output…)

Blumhouse has learned that they can release PG13 horror movies of any quality and teenagers will watch them. If you look at Night Swim from earlier this year that movie cost 15 million and made 57. They know they can turn a profit by paying very little to get a movie made and it doesn't really matter the level of quality. Every now and again they release a movie that's actually good and I wonder if that's how they build budgets is by releasing all these trash movies haha.
