It is very convenient, practical and relaxing especially on the highway when there are long lines of cars and you are in "stop and go". I always use it. 👍😉

I have the full package on my gen 3 X3, and I like to use it as much as possible.
I always say to my passengers that there are two people driving my car: the car and I (in that order). :-)

The recently updated software makes assisted driving lane changes more soft. I also have 19 X5 and it seemed rough at beginning, but after update (I brought it it for backup camera recall update), it's much softer when changing lane. When you are on the assisted driving mode, if you activate the blinker without being clicked in, arrow in the direction of your blinker will show and car will steer in to the lane for you. Once you start to trust your car, it makes driving in traffic jam much better experience. You know you paid for it :)

Greta system with the adaptive cruise control. Not sure why it’s usually an option on BMW’s though. On a VW Golf it’s standard, even on the manuals

I wish there was more demo, and road video, of lane keep. Can’t tell if it’s the more advanced and superior lane centering, or just lane keep which leads to lane edge wandering left and right.

I have this on a ‘21 4 Series and I’m curious if it always triggers the brakes when it slows down or will it first let off the gas and only use the brake if the vehicle needs to slow at a faster pace? Thanks for the informative video.

....worth adding that whilst ACC/driving assist is in operation, I believe if you were to left or right indicate (blinker?) for example, the vehicle will change the desired lane itself!

Yeah i'm going to be buying a 2020 x3 xdrive30e with factory pickup. Literally every option on it. I am bumping up from a 2013 ford focus with no options LOL, like literally not even cruise control. The BMW's options are a bit daunting, but I LOVE that they're all there. I am trying to scour youtube trying to get a good idea about how to actually operate each option. For me, on this option specifically, I am going from no cruise control to a BMW that can ... keep the set speed, identify the speed limit, keep my lane, pace off the car in front, auto brake, etc. Like ... it's a bit much to take in.
I am planning on breaking it in with a cross US tour, so I'll have a solid feel for all the functions by the end, but yeah. Thanks for the video. Lauren is a great guide.

    • @Bmwlauren

@@Bmwlauren I hear you. But. I had this and if you relax and let it do its thing it is good. I found specific things and locations weren't reliable but in my f10 I would say I used auto drive 50% of the time. And always on motorways

    • @Bmwlauren

It's all about preference. Some find the Head up display also distracting. BMW allows you to turn off some of these things to minimize the displayed information.
