Is it normal for all 4 headlight beams to be on in automatic at night? Of course the inside beam on each side goes bright when bright lights are activated but I had just noticed that all 4 beams are on at night. Thought maybe I had something set wrong. Thanks!

Great content bro... How could I set it up so one of my key fobs is tied to valet parking mode only? Or a profile with limited permissions... thanks!
Not possible to have a key solely for valet parking unfortunately. The best way BMW has it set up to be used is simply to activate valet parking mode when handing the vehicle off to valet (a great idea would be to set this mode as a shortcut by clicking and holding "valet mode" in the settings. You can also remove the key fob from the manual key and still have your house keys and valet can use the key fob. Thanks for the watch! Let me know if this helps.

I have a 2021 340i with M sport seats.
This is my 8th BMW win a row, for some reason, no matter what I try, I can’t seem to get my seat into a comfortable position in this new BMW / current BMW model
Hey Allen, congrats on your 8th BMW, I see myself going into the same direction. It does take some getting use to with the newer seats. I'm assuming you've already adjusted things like the lumbar support, side bolsters, and the standard seating adjustments. Also try to adjust the steering wheel in combination with all those and see if that helps.
If you're still having a hard time, my guess would be that it's more mental over anything. When you're used to the old style BMW seating, its difficult to adjust to the newer feel, many have complained about that for even how the steering feel getting lighter over the years as well. My best advice would be to find a position that you think is 75 percent nice and leave it there. Sometimes adjusting the seat multiple times makes the situation worse.
You could also try a lower back driving pillow to see if that helps?

@@debbutante9591 I believe so, inside settings. It's fairly hidden but you would want to look for POPUPS or NOTIFICATIONS.
Couple things you could try, the next time you see it pop up, check to see if there is a settings button you could press it may be in there.
Or go into settings and look for POPUPS. I should have a video that shows how to do this. If you try searching on the channel for ANNOYING FEATURES it should be that video.

I have a 2022 X3. Questions on climate control. How can I have it keep the setting to recirculation? I hit the button but it reverts back to fresh air after about 10 seconds. When the outside temperature is very cold, keeping the fresh air out until the engine heats up is very important.

You would have to have WiFi hotspot in the car. Some more info here on how to mirror those apps to those screens.

Great video. Do you know what mapping software bmw uses? The only benefit the bmw nav gives is it shows in the HUD, in apple car play google maps or waze dont show in the hud, but apple maps does a little, why is that?
Hey Farzad, thanks for reaching out. I'm not too familiar with the software that goes with it, just focused more on the overview.
Yes, the only benefit is the BMW map on the HUD, and as you mentioned, Apple Maps will show route previews on it and not the entire map. Not exactly sure why this is. I'm pretty sure that a lot of work and communication must be done with Waze, and google maps would have to take place directly with BMW and maybe something that not enough people use daily, so they haven't bothered upgrading it. They are also focusing more on integrating those apps into the new iDrive 8 vehicles.
On the newer iDrive 8 models, there are much more updates that did take place. On that, you can see the complete apple map shown on the instrument cluster, and for android users, you can see the whole google map shown there as well. I haven't used either on the HUD yet, but I'm sure it should also be much newer there.

Hey Nina, not sure if my last comment went through. But the best way to do is it so re-add your vehicle into the app from fresh.
Best way to go about it would be..
1. Go into the APP
2. Click on what looks like a set of cars on the top right of the app.
3. Find your BMW and swipe left or right on it until you see the option to delete it.
4. Go top the top of that same screen and "Add vehicle"
5. Go through the steps to link the vehicle again, during this process it should ask if you are going to be the main user. Select yes

I was wondering if you set up the second profile in your car, if you registered the person with the vin number of the car I think they become the primary. So how do you really suppose to set up the second driver. My second key is still not registering but he is on now as a second profile but i did not activate his app to the car so he cannot remote start?
Hey Ginny, just saw this one. When you register with the VIN into the My BMW App, it should ask you if you would like to replace main user, this is a no since your husband will be secondary.
You could also simply add the driver profile in by manually entering the username (email) and password into the driver profile screen after you press " add driver profile ", this will allow you to have a profile without using the app.
Profile would be more important than the App in my opinion, if he did want to remote start he can press lock 3 times on the remote as well.

Most likely a software glitch. Try calling BMW ASSIST. They can direct you to their IT team, which specializes in fixing app glitches remotely.

Let me ask you guys a question, on the 2024 X5M Comp. is the M emblem light on the front seats supposed to turn off after you start driving ? or are they supposed to stay lit all the time ?
Haven't tested it out but I'm pretty sure they would turn off after you begin to drive, it could be a safety thing since the light is quite bright, and is there for aesthetics when you're getting into your vehicle. Some say you can use code to keep it on all the time though.
I have a 2023 LCI X3M, I’ve seen several people have the ability to check their brakes, wear %, I can’t seem to find this at all, does it exist for my year/model/make??
I can't confirm on the percentage but if you go into Settings > Vehicle Status you can go into the menu where it shows the up coming services, that should show the expected miles you can travel. Another way to try would be through the MY BMW App. On the top portion of the app i think you could check status through that way too.
night time brightness for the display at time 4:56 can be adjusted in idrive in the day time. instead of using the switch.
I see, I honestly never got the dim scroll to work during the day and only in the night time.

I have a 2020 X5 but the self park feature won’t work anymore. Also remote engine start won’t work either. Are their any settings that I need to play with to fix those 2 features? Thanks
Seems like a technical issue. I would check to see if any service lights are on. The remote start function, you'd want to go into climate control settings and make sure it's enabled before trying it. You could try holding down the volume knob for about 30 secs to reboot the system and see if that helps too

hello, my 2022 M3 G80 idrive 7 is uptodate, but there is no " ENGINE SOUND", where can I set 'engine sound' in idrive 7's setting, thanks
It may be that true M cars may not have this feature. Usually only found in the MID TIER M cars. The best place to check would be under GENERAL SETTINGS. It is placed in very odd spot and it's worth checking.
I have 330i G20 and haven’t got that setting on my idrive. I had a 330e loaner car and it was on the idrive under car general settings and then sounds. I had to BimmerCode my ASD off as it drove me mad
Set up my Apple Wallet to have the digital key to start my M240i. Unfortunately, it defaults to Guest, not Driver 1 (and only) profile. Any way to change this?
You may have to re pair the key. To do this, remove the digital key from the phone and link it back up again in the app or through the digital key menu (if you have idrive 8+)

Hey Michel, unfortunately not. The iDrive systems are not upgradable. But your iDrive 7 is still a fan favorite compared to the idrive 8!

Nearby the headlight controls you'll see a scroll knob, you can use that to adjust the brightness, but it'll only work at night time.

2024 X5..the radio automatically comes on whenever a door is opened while the car is off. How can this be disabled?
It may turn on if that was the way you left it when you exited the vehicle. I would disable the radio when you exit and see if that works.
How do you handle BMW ID when there are two spouses that are active drivers of the BMW. Should both have a separate BMW ID?
Hey Bill, Yes! Each driver should have their own BMW ID. This is best done by both users each signing up in the MY BMW App with their own Username and Password. When setting up the ID make sure one key is in the vehicle at one time since the ID gets linked to the key fob! This also means each user should only use their own key.

Couple reasons, if a vehicle has Drivers Assistance Professional, it'll change colors depending on how the vehicle is sensing the road. If it's green, then it's sensing it perfectly, and if it's yellow, it may need assistance, etc.
It can also be used during the self parking mode. Again, basically letting you know how confident the car feels doing it's own self parking.
Sometimes I get into my car and my profile is not there it says guest and I have to put in my code again. What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately you cannot upload onto the Idrive 8 System. The best way to to do this now would be to move your music to your phone and have it play from there.

How to reset oil change message

Can you permanently set the drives? I would like Sport Drive without having to set it everyday.
You cannot unfortunately. It must be pressed every time you get into the vehicle. Has to do with some government regulations in regards to what mode is used when advertising fuel economy numbers.
I did change my wake word but find that when ever I happen to day the word BMW it sets off the personal asst. BMW should have designed it so that when you change the word it deletes any other word previously set up.

What about BMWs that are a few years older
These are most geared towards BMWs with iDRIVE 7. I drive 6 might still have most of these but anything older than that these would become more obsolete.

The best way is by using voice command. Just make sure you say the state at the end as well.

Hey Antonios, from my end I am un-able to check the vin as it's blocked since it's already a sold vehicle. The best bet would be to reach out to your dealer / where you ordered it from and see if they can look into it to see whats going on. It is something that may seem stressful I can imagine but I would not worry too too much. It's normal for a couple things like that to happen. It'll be back on track before you know it.
