I’m saving this video. The Park Ranger teaching Hawaiian vowel sounds was so interesting. Lots of good content!!

We were only hoping he'd pronounce the name for us so we would know if we were even coming close to saying it properly and got SO much more! It was super cool of him to give us so much of his time. But we have found that most park rangers are that way...very generous and even chatty if you give them a chance! This is, seriously, one of our favorite spots in the whole world. Thank you for spending your time with us!

This video is awesome. All the video’s I have seen before have involved activities for young people only. My husband and I are 70 and have been looking for videos that are easy activities for seniors and things easy to see on the Big Island. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for hanging out with us! We are in our 60's, have never been hikers but love to explore. I have accessibility issues as well so everything we do is allowing for easy access for everyone. Hope you keep following along on our journey, there is much more to come!

Happy early wedding anniversary! I'm not sure if it was just a bad day when we went out and tried to snorkel, but we couldn't seem to find a good snorkel spot on the Big Island. Wish we checked out the beach you went to. So exciting you saw a turtle! That's so fun you guys learned how to speak Hawaiian.

Thank you! 36 years! We've been going to the same beach park for years. It wasn't as easy as it has been in years past but still wonderful to see so many fish!

My favourite spot on the Big Island is just past the City of Refugee on Coastal trail, the most beautiful picnic spot ever!🤙🇨🇦

We agree! We were hoping he would just say the name correctly for us on film and he gave us a full lesson instead!! It was AWESOME!

When we talk about the Big Island we talk about 3 things...the snorkling, the Painted Church and the Historic site. It was so much fun putting them ALL in one video to share! I do hope you can see it in person...it's SO amazing!

Thanks for hanging out with us! This place is just incredibly beautiful, more than photos or even film can convey. If you ever get the chance to visit the Big Island we hope you have the time to go to the Historic Park!

To be free, you will need a Hawaii ID.

Hi there! Thanks for hanging out with us. Are Historic Parks free to Hawaii residents? We have the National Parks Pass so we were able to get into this Historic site as well as the National Park with it. SUCH treasures! These two places hold a special place in our hearts.

    I absolutely loved your video!
But please let me know where exactly is that first spot you went snorkling…?
I watched it few times and still couldn’t get it where it is….
We will be coming to Big Island for the first time this March so it would be very helpful :)

Thank you for the reminder. This is part of a several part series on the Big Island and, you are right, we didn't say that in this video. Thanks for watching and your honesty!
