Ahahah, "blame the meteorite for everything." Saitama did well, it's cool that he answered these jerks with a developed sense of herd instinct.😁 It became sad when everyone started blaming Saitama. I don't know what the creators meant at this point, but there was a very cool scene when Genos said "let's go home" and Saitama listened to him. Saitama answered enough, thereby showing that he was not broken, and if he had continued, he would have fallen to their level - "to argue with fools, you need to fall to their level," so Genos very timely suggested going home. The key action scenes look super epic and the soundtrack to the episodes too! The whole series is the best epic creation. 👊10 beats out of 10.👊 An interesting topic was touched upon in the episode.
The all-powerful Saitama is powerless in this situation.
I hope this topic will be raised again. But personally, I think that's not exactly the focus of this episode. Here, Saitama did everything he could do in the current situation and saved the city from complete destruction, but people looked at the problem subjectively and did not see the whole picture. A saved city, ungrateful people. The phrase "I wanted the best, but it turned out as always" does not really fit here. A true hero.. although I remember in the previous episode, Saitama was made a monster lul

This episode proves how much Saitama needs Genos. He may be phisically unmatched but he need a friend for the sake of his mental health and growth
I really like Saitama’s character because some people think (in real life) that his only function is to be a parody with legs, when in reality he’s a pretty complex character that doesn’t follow up the typical anime/shonen protagonist clichés.

Some people think that it is impossible to take Saitama seriously because he is "a parody", but ONE (the author) is excellent at creating deep and complex characters.
Saitama is the most tragic character. All of us like him because he's relatable, somehow. And we feel _sorry_ for him.
His power (canon) is that if he's excited, by fear, anger, sorrow, any strong emotion, his power begins increasing, infinitely. But it stops when he gets bored.
All Saitama wants is a challenging fight. But if he gets one, his joy only lasts a moment, before he's stronger than them, and gets bored again.
The one thing he wanted was strength, so he could do what he loves. And now, he will *never* find what he seeks, because that strength prevents it.
He will only ever see brief sparks of hope, then watch them be snuffed out in front of his eyes.

Genos had some decent time to shine this episode, doing his best to stop the meteor with all those insanely cool moves.
Naturally, Saitama just showed up and took care of it without breaking a sweat.
It was refreshing to see how Saitama actually fought back against everyone giving him shit about the meteor fragments damage. He did save them all, like you pointed out, Magy.
Genos protecting Saitama from further damaging his public image was heartwarming, his loyalty really is unmatched.

Saitama wants to be recognized as a hero but it is not the most important thing for him as long as he enjoys the role of hero, whether he is recognized or not, it will continue to be the work of a hero whether he was in the association or not.🤗
I'm glad you caught on so many layers of the show.
Despites it being a very silly superhero parody show with absurdly epic animations, this show also actually have some pretty well thought of commentary on bullying (online and offline), depression that could follow, and how Saitama is not only a superhero in strength, but also a hero showing how to stand up to bullies with the art of not giving a fuck. It's extremely refreshing to see a character seemingly goofy doing something that feels this real. It's one of the reasons why the show is so beloved worldwide.
It's a Seinen manga after all. They explores different aspects of life.
at lesst, it's not a slice of life.

Imagine if the asteroid would have hit the other side of the planet where Saitama wasnt... chances are, if an asteroid were to ever hit the planet, it would hit the ocean since 75% of the planet is water.... and saitama couldnt have saved the planet. Anyway a live action One Punch Man tv show would be cool if made well. Maybe in 10 years or 20 or never.
If the asteroid had hit the ground, it would be a mass extinction event similar to what killed the dinosaurs. At least a continent wide of destruction and death.

Pretty shifty of the Hero Association to not even tell Genos about the meteorite on the phone...
Saitama had all the chances and reason to abuse his power, but he never, not at once. I can see any other hero would do that if they were in Saitama's position, but Saitama didnt even bother to showing off his strength to those 10 IQ crowd.
