- I guess I haven't mentioned this before, but I LOVE Tron: Legacy. And pretty much any other Tron related stuff. It's one of only a handful of movies I liked as a kid and still like today. I liked it as a kid cause it looked cool, and I got back into it as an adult cause I was getting into Daft Punk and they made the soundtrack for Legacy. When Disney+ came out I binge-watched Uprising, I bought the Tron: Legacy Lego set to display in my room, and earlier this week I finally got a copy of Tron: Evolution. All 3 of these (well, minus the Lego set) feature a variant of Clu's betrayal of Kevin Flynn and Tron, so I stitched them together into, uh, let's call it an extended cut.
Anyway, this is what severe boredom and procrastination on my college work gets you. Hopefully this stays up and Disney doesn't take it down. Even though they do next to nothing with Tron in the first place.

I love this scene because of it creates, in writing, what is called a Rashomon Effect.
We see Clu’s coup from four different perspectives across the Tron franchise (Tron’s in the Betrayal comic, Anon’s in Evolution, Dyson’s in Uprising, and Flynn’s in Legacy) and for various reasons absolutely none of these narrators are totally reliable, with different priorities and feelings that were going through their heads in the moment.
That's really cool, makes it feel like more than just an inconsistent amalgamation of events. While editing this, I realized that Tron tells Flynn to run away twice in Legacy (once softly, then the more obvious yelling) and I debated forever on which should I use to line up with the others. Betrayal would've been hard to do, Clu's rise to power is way more gradual there. I think out of which one of these is my favorite, it's a tie between Legacy and Betrayal.
Flynn (Legacy) - the one who never expected it and recalls the loss of friends and innocence, focused on the raw emotion and tragedy
Tron (Betrayal) - the inevitable outcome of decades of lies, deceit, and the grayness of CLU and the Grid - it was silent, like the last note of a tragic symphony
Anon (Evolution) - The bystander with no choice but to watch it was his call to action to fight for Quorra and Flynn
Dyson (Uprising) - This is when he sold his soul - gave into his demons and gave it all up to CLU. He stands proud - defeating the friend of his enemies - Flynn and the ISOs
It makes it feel like something that really happened, somewhere, some time.

@@ChristianGibbons777 The Rashomon effect is a term related to the notorious unreliability of eyewitnesses. It describes a situation in which an event is given contradictory interpretations or descriptions by the individuals involved.
This "FLYNN" was synced pretty much flawless
I’d like to think that extra scene *where Tron discovered Dyson had betrayed him, and turned him into Rinzler* was after CLU had seemingly “killed Tron” before Flynn left.
Given how the music syncs between the 2 scenes, I have to agree.
I just posted a comment about the difference in scenes being how everyone saw it. Anon stops watching before clu intervened bc he got into a fight. Flynn’s perspective is different bc he ran and tron has the full story

Shout-out to UMG and WMG for copyright claiming the video. Even though those companies, owned by Universal and Warner Bros. respectively, don't own rights to the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. If anyone's copystriking this video, it should be Disney.

The soundtrack was literally released on Disney's own record label. Why th did they of all people claim it?

I really love how all of these scenes create more story to this scene, after Anon has just derrezed a few infected, he spots Flynn and Tron, then their is Dyson's point of view as when CLU puts on his mask Dyson commands the black guards to Derrezz Tron and Flynn, then the black guards surround Flynn and Tron, Tron immediately kills all the black guards but before Anon witnesses his death he is interrupted by a red program ready to battle him. After Tron was defeated by CLU, Dyson walks into the scene and finishes the job. But I'm pretty sure Dyson killing Tron comes after when Flynn left and CLU defeated Tron.
Nice work! I never played Evolution, so I never knew there was a scene from Anon's P.O.V. I'm glad to see a completed version of this scene, despite each scene having different continuity errors.
Agreed. I would've included Tron: Betrayal as well, but Clu's deception is entirely different there than in these 3 versions.

Tron Uprising’s slight continuity error is still visually impactful!... Tron had a black suit on, not a white suit! The white neon high lights are both correct though.
Think is was more of an artist Liberty, to link to tron's look in the original move, but I do prefer his black suit.

It seems like there’s only three constants in this event that occurred with absolute certainty: CLU saying “FLYNN” at the beginning, Flynn saying “Yeah?” in response, and CLU putting on his helmet to initiate the coup. Everything else is muddied by differing perspectives.
If you think about the two scenes, the one from the movie is what Flynn remembers, and the one from the show is the one both TRON and Dyson remember. and we have our brief POV of Anon. So they're remembering what sticks out in their memory about what happened that night.

I don't think Clu and Dyson's talk with Tron happened exactly how you showed it, I think Clu struck Tron then Flynn left which then followed up with Dyson walking in, which explains Tron's injuries there. Plus it explains why we Don't see Dyson there in Legacy.

The ending is messed up. On Tron’s chest in “Uprising”, it shows that Clu already sliced him up a bit. So Kevin had already ran away by that point. In “Legacy”, Kevin doesn’t see Dyson there.

Yeah, Since in legacy we didn't see Dyson, and I think CLU gave tron those scars in the scene when Tron gave that speech where tron gives the speech about Flynn being the creator and CLU being the villain,

My theory on the show is that in Tron Legacy tron is actually Beck and that the original Tron had died sometime in between season two most likely but in his final moments he officially made Beck Tron and then surpassed him but somehow clue captured him and repurposed him even and that's why in the final movie He's the bad guy up until the final moment but I guess in the end

Beck became a pseudo system monitor under Tron. His status is still Unknown. But we know that it was actually Tron not only because of the voice and the grid system doesn’t have a backup of Beck. We can see in the Sea of Simulation scene after the lightjet fight Rinzler’s circuitry changes from Orange to White because the Tron program is a holdover from the original Tron system. Meaning The Grid rewrote Rinzler back into Tron after falling into the Sea of Simulation.
You messed up. When Clu stabbed him with the disc that’s what gave Tron got the scars that’s on his chest after Flynn left and that’s when Tron gave his speech saying that Flynn coming back. Clu stabbed him again he made Tron passed out.
The clip I found on youtube cut out right there. Blame Disney XD's youtube channel. But yeah I get your point

@@Supernerd471 yes but in the flashback he's white on one instance and black pn the other. A bridge between original and legacy should act before the flasback of Legacy, before Clu's revolution.

In 1:28 (i’m just saying) I think in the movie he did that first finishing part and then he survived and then on uprising then the 2nd finishing part was there

For what i know Tron is a different program than all the others. I think maybe just maybe the battle mode protected it from the clu attack
In simple terms: No. The TRON system dumps the memory of derezzed programs and practically shreds their code or in the case of the Original Clu, his systems, abilities, and directives were absorbed into the old system mainframe that was put in place by ENCOM before deresolution, meaning Kevin had to completely rewrite Clu in Legacy. Clu2 hijacked Tron's disc and repurposed him when he slammed it back on Tron's back, which is why you hear that snarl that Rinzler makes. It's literally the forced repurposing creating auditory feedback. Also the derez sound is actually the sound of corruption in this case, since Clu hijacked Tron's disc. The only way that Tron returned is by falling into the Sea of Simulation since the Tron program was a holdover from the original Tron system. Meaning there was a backup somewhere in the system and the Sea of Simulation completely rewrote Rinzler back into Tron, which is way we see Rinzler's circuitry go from Orange/Red back to White.
@@kirito8720 awesome. Thank you so much for the explanation. I love the Tron universe but couldn't figure out how Tron survived Clu2's attack when Tron screamed. With the sounds I could've sworn he had been derezzed via a disc stab attack.
@@josh_miester_x511 The derez sound had a crackle to it indicating that it was the inherent corruption safeguard that Clu broke through to repurpose Tron, and the cut short scream followed by the same crackle before the growl also indicated program incompatibility. And the system just had to accept the new programming since it was by a system admin.
@@kirito8720 in the videos, Clu2 stabs Tron in the chest, he doesn't slam the disc on to his back. Just a technicality, but I still think what your saying is mostly correct as it makes sense.

The character models in Evolution are awful
As is the voice acting. Would it kill them to have the actual actors record the lines? Instead we have characters that only remotely sound like their live action counterparts
