There are the scheduled ones that go off every Monday through Saturday at 7:;00 AM, 8:00AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.
Plus whenever the volunteer fire department needs an ambulance or a firetruck it goes off.

Interesting use for the high-low tone. Around here I think the only one used is just the regular siren, and many sirens lack the capability to do the high-low tone since it wasn't used much. Most sirens can only do alert and attack modes. AFAIK, the original meaning of the high-low tone has been lost to history. I've also been witness to a test in attack mode, which is concerning when you actually know what attack mode is and means.

It's not a broken siren ffs it's a hi-lo purposely doing that to echo around buildings to let people in metropolitan areas hear of a tornado warning.

In my area alert is for thunderstorms and tests, wail is for tornadoes, fast wail is for any nuclear attack/ air raid, and pulse is for chemicals, and hi - lo is for flood and fire.

where i live there's lots of floods and our mayor hasn't installed any siren to warn us (we get notified by amber alerts)
    also a story:
back in early 2017 there were rumors a tornado hit south of my town. i thought it was fake but on a night ( i had to sleep in my parents' room since my dad's cousin lives with us) I heard an amber alert and it was actually a severe weather warning

Went to basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO... I can never unhear the fucking doorbell siren they use for general alerts on that base. Somewhat better than the high-ass monotone G# wail they use for weather alerts that bores into your skull, but there's still something kinda profane about THE doorbell sound, the one that is also used in a lot of clock towers, being used as an alert tone for everything that's NOT a weather alert...
