Slap Shop is a masterpiece of Cinema. My wife saw it for the first time with me this past christmas in Florida.
She loved it! That was probably the 15th time ive seen it.

Met these guys at an autograph signing after a charity game in Seattle 20 some years ago. We were at the back of the line, and I was getting a little loaded. When we got to the table, I said "I found that machine that took your f'ing quarter" and put one on the table. Can't remember which one, but one said "I think it was Canadian, eh". Priceless moment I'll never forget. Thanks guys!

My dad & I laughed throughout this movie. We were in tears it was so funny. My dad was a huge Montreal Canadians fan and used to see all of the greats play. When we moved to the US we went to a lot of Houston Aeros hockey games. Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe were all on the team. We saw Gordie score his 800th goal. Even though my dad saw the best teams in pro hockey he said a Houston Aeros - Winnipeg game was the best he had ever seen. The Aeros were down 4-1 with just over a minute to go and they ended up beating Winnipeg in the most excited game ever.
My dad and I loved Slap Shot and especially the Hanson Brothers! They added to the hilarity! Another hilarious show we laughed all the way through was Blazing Saddles. Our stomachs actually hurt from laughing so much. Both those shows were masterpieces.
This program is so great with Steve Carlson talking about the way things were. All the best to him!

Slapshot...My ultimate favorite movie...My hometown Hornepayne NW Ontario is where Goldie Goldthorpe grew up and played hockey...He was the inspiration for Ogie Ogilthorpe in the movie.
Also a little known fact...It was the first American movie translated in french in Quebec.
No doubt that Yvon Barrette/Denis Lemieux and Yvan Ponton/Jean-Guy Drouin had something to do with that...They would've say something like " If you do the translation in France like usual, It will sound totally stupid " In Quebec, Hockey is way stronger than religion 👍👍

I am glad you are doing well and I appreciate the tour. lol - It's been a while since the AHL team you played on (Baltimore Skipjacks) came to Hershey to play the Bears and all you guys would do the "snake" on the ice at the end of warmups. Remember that winning streak you and Baltimore had, I believe it was a 17 game win streak and the funny thing was that the streak started when you beat the Bears ... and 17 games later you were back in Hershey and the Bears ended your streak. See Bennett Wolfe much? : ) ... You and the rest of the Hanson's posed for a pic with me when you guys came to the area for a charity game. You guys had a bad temper as you started roughing me up just because I asked you if you wanted a stinkin' root beer. ... I mean, you could of just said No. LOL - ... Kudos to Steve Carlson on a terrific job in the making of this Johnstown video. He is a great spokesman for Johnstown and a really nice energetic fellow. I played hockey in high school and in an old timers league 30 years ago. I hope Steve continues to do well and so happy to hear he’s in remission.

The french version (translated in "french canadian" french) is a cult movie in Quebec. A lot of people know by heart the dialogs, especially the most vulgar parts.

I loved this movie! I have a special place in my heart for Johnstown. My mom is from there. And…..John Daley former general manager of the Chiefs is my uncle.

Met the guys in the blue seats at Msg back in 1995… they toured the seats in full uniform with the foil on!!.. I screamed old time hockey.. I don’t remember who responded but one screamed Eddie shore!!!… all three guys were great… greatest shift in hockey history!

So I’m watching the video with my parents. They grew up in johnstown. At the end during the movie trailer when Paul Newman comes up the middle woman is my aunt!!!! No one in the family ever knew. All these years. Great movie and great town.

Real life fun fact , my dad worked security for the filming of the movie ! My mom and me as a baby were part of the crowd during filming ! For years my dad had his pay stub from the movie . Heard Newman was a really nice guy and treated people well !

I love this movie and watched it several times. As Steve was doing his tour and explaining where scenes were done I started laughing remembering the scenes. Thanks for the tour Steve and continued good health.
