    The original name of this video is "Tibet Diary". The views of Tibet from two Americans. The video clip 4 and 6 are most interesting. The clip 3 tells you about the religious groups in Tibet.

    This video was planed to publicly broadcast in the United States by PBS 4 years ago, but cancelled due to the political pressures from some "interests" groups.
    Go to China and Tibet to do your own research. You'll be changed like them.
    --------------------------------------------
    Before 1959, Tibet was ruled by theocracy and feudalism. Dalai Lama was on the top of this evil system. The slaves, consisting of 95% polulation of Tibet, had no any human right, and they were treated as animals. Please watch the video "Tibet: The Truth" by Monerax Hollywood Corp. • Tibet: The Truth (A P...
    In 1959 Chinese government decided to completely abolish this brutal system, Dalai Lama and his armed followers rebelled. Don't you think the theocracy and feudalism shouldn't be abolished? I wish all of us could make their judgements based on the conscience of human being.
    ********************************************
    What is Dalai Lama now? Nobel Peace Prize winner? yes. but also a leader of religion combined with politics, and a religious Dictator and hypocrite! Shocked? Please listen to these Tibetans' crying! Whoever supports "Free Tibet" please listen to these Tibetans' crying!!! Don't you???

    Every one should know Separation of religion from politics is the basic principle of Democracy. I respect Dalai Lama as a religious/spiritual leader, but strongly object his current role which combines religion with politics. It is very harmful to Democracy, and can not be accepted! Dalai Lama must change himself to a role of pure religious/spiritual leader. BTW in Tibet there are 5 religious groups, Dalai Lama can only represent at most 20% population world wide.
    China is trying her best to become a "Melting Pot" like the United States, i.e. to encourage multiculture mixing(some people think is more like Canadian multicultures - culture mosaic). Chinese government has been mading big progress in many aspects including human rights this 20 years, but unfortunately many of our media as well as other western media still stay at the era of cold war. I'd like to serevely criticize them for biased reports toward China issues.

    I work in a music store here in the Los Angeles area, and a several years ago, a Tibetan woman from China brought to the store a human-skull hand drum; the thin skin (animal skin?) was broken, and while we weren't able to fix it, we recommended a folk-instrument specialty store for her to take her human-skull drum for possible repairs. I was extra-ignorant about China-Tibet stuff at the time..... but here's yet another proof that the unique Tibetan culture is NOT a victim of "cultural genocide".

  • @doeman8046

    1. Producer went to school in China and worked for CCTV before moving to US. I am not saying he was paid or anything, but you can see that there might be influence.
    2. The only Tibetan they talked to were the ones arranged by the government. Both of them(American) seemed confused in their own thoughts. Also, we didn't hear what they talked about with the tibetans that were arranged. It was two of them telling us what they were told by the translator. LOL.
    By now you should have already sensed that they want the video to look certain way. How about sending two Americans who know nothing about Tibet with a video camera? Let them talk to any Tibetans out there. China will never let that happen.
    Do you know the definition of Propaganda? It's trying to change a person's point of view by presenting bias information. LOL. This is a great example of how they changed the point of view of 2 american by presenting bias information.
    3. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE TO ME(I am not yelling. lol. just highlighting for you not to miss it.) What law grants China the right to invade Tibet because of what they thought of Tibet? Chinese government murdered half of it's own people, then they saw Tibetans were suffering and started helping? LMAO. The only thing on their mind at that time was expansion.
    This is a bonus. Majority of Tibetans are divided into two sectors.
    1) Free Tibet or
    2) give autonomous (Tibetans will still be mad for the 1 million life lost, but it will create a relationship that will make Tibetans change their mind.) Being part of China will be great, but not like this when Tibetans are treated like foreigners in their own homeland. T
    Extra questions to think about:
    1. Why are so many Tibetans burning themselves alive to be heard?
    2. Why are people protesting in Tibet?
    3. Why doesn't China talk to the President of Tibet?
    4. Why are so many Tibetan people jailed just for raising their voice?
    5. Why are so many Tibetan fleeing Tibet?

      Let me summarize the whole video for people who haven't watched(part 1-6 of this dairy).
      - Two American who didn't know a lot about Tibet went on a trip with Chinese producers to Tibet. YES!! CHINESE PRODUCERS WHO WORKED FOR CCTV BEFORE.
      - They were arranged to meet the Tibetans selected by the government(only 2 tibetan household..lol..we also don't know what they really talked about cause it was the 2 American talking about what the translator told them).
      - They don't talk to any Tibetans outside the arranged tibetan about politics. Not a single one. She points at a pilgrim and that is all she does. Doesn't even talk.
      - They don't know how to talk in Tibetan. There is a translator. They were solely dependent on what the translator translated. LOL. So there is the question of if anything was getting translated accurately.
      - They seemed confused what to believe. They even said they don't know if this was all set up. But nonetheless, they saw the kids smiling. They heard 2 tibetan families assigned to talk to them being happy. They started having second thoughts about Tibet being independent again.

    China helped 95% of Tibetans from slavery. China stopped 5% of Lamas and rulers, from using serf bones as tools (horns). China made airports, railways, highways, and deprived rules for only riding on horses. China in Tibet, built the first school, literacy not allowed to undermine the tradition of serfdom. Therefore, the China is in no rule of human rights!

    Now, three cases have been uncovered. Yet, the local parents are still anxious to teach and instruct their children to value their lives and appreciate their life and families.

    The Dalai Lama had visited Tawang several times after leaving Tibet 1959. India rejected Chinese objection and said the Dalai Lama was an honoured guest and could visit any place in India. The Dalai Lama visited Tawang on 8 November 2009. He was received and welcomed by the democratically elected Chief Minister and the people of Arunachal Pradesh. The residents were elated to have the Dalai Lama among them. They painted their houses afresh and spruced up the town

    Actually if you look closely I didn't say blacks are slaves. I am comparing the number of blacks in prison with the number of tibetans in prison. Both minorities are no longer officially descriminated against, but it happens under the rader from racist individuals in positions of power such as police officers. Native tibetans get the same level of freedom every chinese person gets and in some cases more ie: exemption from the one child policy, ect.

    The problem with people today is that they want to speak about a country but they know next to nothing about what that country is or how it has become what it is today. China has freed Tibet of its unjust and unfair class system once and for all, thus enabling the entire population (including those who have been marginalized) to progress at its own pace. Everyone is free to study, to improve his own lot and to engage in whatever business or trade that he wants to better himself and to provide for his family. Tibet has improved tremendously and its people can be truly proud of their achievements. I wish Tibet will keep on prospering.

    I live in Canada right now, but I don't think if I start yelling government sucks in front of camera and throw shoes at presidents I can get away with it. In truth I never felt I need to watch my words when living in China, that's true for most people too, because we just go on our daily business and there aren't cops watching our every word. Is US government state religion protestant? I think it's not right for a government lean on one religion caz that restrict religion freedom.

    Tibetan's rights are not violated by the Chinese. If you go to Tibet, you will realize that most Tibetans there do not want a separation. Before China took over Tibet, Dalai Lama had slaves, even minors used for sexual purposes in the temples.
    Who did Tibet belong to before China? -Answer-British parliament, manchus, mongols.

    The history of interaction between ceylonese and Indians go back many years. And India is powerful. Can it take over ceylon? or Bangladesh? or pakistan?
    The issue in tibet is chinese imperialism. If china is genuinely multicultural, it will respect minority culture and its icons like HH Dalai Lama. Not abuse Him. They will provide genuine autonomy, not just minority theme parks as if minority people are zoo creatures.
    china has a dark face, a disgrace to the tradition of Confucius/LaoTse.

    bravebhoba's comment pretty much sums up the Free Tibet supporters' mentality. Any different opinion from theirs is Chinese propaganda. It's like you must say that all the Tibetans under Chinese rule are leading a miserable life, otherwise you are brainwashed. Well, I have been to ethnic Tibet 9 times in the past 10 years as an independent travelor, I agree with what these two Americans are saying and what they say is reasonable: go there and see for yourself and draw your own conclusion.

    Parents in Amchok Township have been worried about their children's safety and tried to prevent their children from being incited to commit self-immolation, said chairman of the Gannan People's Congress, adding that people hated these ruthless inciters.
    Lou Yongfu is the chairman of the standing committee of the Xiahe people's congress of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Gansu Province.

  • @ShigleySheila
    @ShigleySheila 11 років тому

    He stressed the local parents' concern over self-immolation inciters and their urgent demand for the government to crack down on the criminal acts.
    Last year Amchok saw four self-immolation cases which were called the " Oct. 26 Incident". The Amchok police posted an official notice in October 2012 even on the Internet, asking people to report self-immolation inciters with a 200,000 yuan (32,440 US dollars) reward.

  • @ShigleySheila
    @ShigleySheila 11 років тому

    After each self-immolation case occurred, Lou would visit the families of self-immolators who were all dead on the spot.
    He said: "Their parents and other family members had no idea with their children's plans or intention of committing self-immolations in advance. When they heard the bad news, they were devastated and cursing the inciters' heartlessness and ill will. They said the act was naive, cruel and stupid."

  • @ShigleySheila
    @ShigleySheila 11 років тому

    Lou said, adding that the social insurance and welfare system had covered all villagers including the self-immolators' families. "But,in fear of inciting a vicious cycle of 'self-immolation-getting a fortune for the family-more self-immolation',government won't provide any financial help or consolation money for the families whose family member committed self-immolation."
    "But we would take them into consideration of preferential policies in future, only out of humanitarianism,"Lou pointed out.

  • @ShigleySheila
    @ShigleySheila 11 років тому

    They dared not tell their parents and families, of course, since their families must have stopped them from committing self-immolation. No parents in the world would approve their children's suicidal acts, wouldn't they?" Lou, a Tibetan and a parent, showed a strong vigilance over his adolescent children, while pointed out that the inciters from the cunning overseas Tibetan separative forces took advantage of religion, Tibetan people's religious belief and the naivety of young people.

    Our people are living in a better and better life, and can feel the care from the government and can feel our own geographical and natural limitations so that we understand the great efforts made and difficulty faced by the government including me as a civil servant. Therefore, I don't think self-immolation inciters are still having the market to sell their ideas. It comes to the fundamental problem: if self-immolation is so great, why don't they do it?"

    I like the dalai lama but please guys look. Look deep. The dharma teaching from the gottama buddha say not be attached, to not be ignorant, to show compassion. but when religion meets polotics. Confussion is created. The wirld needs spirituality, not religion. Shamanism, not religion. Tibetan buddhism could exist if politics didnt exist. I love the dalai lama but i question alot that has done. Personally i only wish for a world to come together and become spiritual not religious.

    The modern era, which we are in, is supposed to be an era of civility, considering that nuclear war is just around the corner and possibly the end of humankind.
    500 Years is a long time.
    As for china not having bias media, you just need to look at the ryuku islands dispute. It has been known as a japanese island chain for more than 400 years, but chinese teachings claim it only in recent history, because it has oil.
    or the South china sea dispute, chinese claiming resources that arn't thiers.

    it was leased, yes, because the chinese didn't have much choice, it was leased at gunpoint.
    As for Tibetans, it wasn't leased, it was conquered, and wont ever have the oppertunity to be a country on its own without outside intervention. tibet was conquered in recent history.
    The indian culture was conquered before the modern era, even before the industrial era, therefore before the UN and LoN and much of thier culture has been crushed, or assimilated into american culture.

    It's funny cus even though it seems like the Americans are so pro-Dalai Lama, when he came to UCLA he was far from being worshipped. People look at him as some sort of a clown. The only people who worshipped him then were his followers. Not to mention that we all think it's highly annoying when his support group blocked the Ackerman with their stupid chant. He is really not that earnest in person.

    The 'Tibetan' they spoke to in the market looks like about 30 years old, too young to know what her parents/grand parents went through. For me to be able to speak with Tibetan women, had to be done secretively for fear of the consequences to them! I was for ever being reminded of 'Big Brother' as cameras and minders were everywhere. My main comment is that the two Americans must have had their heads in the clouds as they appear to be oblivious to what is really under the surface!!

  • @Zeea2550

    The Dalai Lama is not a religious leader. Tibetan Buddhism is a spiritual path/way of life founded by Buddha many hundreds of years ago in India. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader (in exile) of the Tibetans. And as for the two Americans who made the documentary, what planet are they from? They are sprouting the Chinese line very well. When I was in Tibet in 2000, I asked to visit the woman's jail, request denied as were other requests to areas made out of bounds to westerners!

    Comprehensive, poignant, factual and honest. This is the best presentation of Tibetan History before and after the Dalai Lama's exile to India. Remember when Japan was emerging as an economic supper power after WW2, the Western War Cry was “Japanese Crab”. It was born out of jealousy and racial discrimination and fear being surpassed. Western democracy is pure hypocrisy and there are numerous examples of their double standard today. Happy New Year, peace to all Asian Countries.

    According to reports about Dharmsala on Global Times and Xinhua this October, the so-called Tibet government-in-exile is disentangled into different factions, corrupted with the money donated for the common exiled Tibetans, losing control and cohesion among the exiled community.

    but none has diverged from their ultimate goal of "Free Tibet" -- free from all government, free from agreeing "safeguard the security, honor and interests of the motherland" -- as quoted from their campaign papers. According to their description and definition of "free", no country, as long as there is a government, is having freedom. Anarchism is the only word that suits for "free from all government".

  • @TheSaImonfan
    @TheSaImonfan 11 років тому

    But, anarchism is not plausible in any corner around the world. Isn't that a violation of the universal human civilization?
    Moreover, through the constitutions of many countries such as the UK, the USA, and the PRC, integrity of the state and interest of the people are the priority of every nation in the world. And that is what China has been doing and is what the Dalai clique has been challenging.

  • @TheSaImonfan
    @TheSaImonfan 11 років тому

    and the quest for "independence of Tibet" is gaining no more ground or greet be it an agenda for the interest of the very few aristocratic and transformed religious leaders or a political game regardless of the interest of common Tibetan people.
    The Dalai clique has played a game and lost. So did their international supporters.
    It's time to face the truth and to confront that the D-boat is sinking.

As to burn "themselves to death" it cause by the invisible man, in fact through out history more people have died or killed because of religion then anything else. I am far more human then you will ever be, because I don't rely on blind faith.

    I hardly believe this since you would be one of VERY few Tibetans to actually like the occupation. In fact China now forbids foreigners from entering Tibet & self immolation calling a return for the Dalai Lama & freedom for Tibet have risen substantially. Every Tibetan I met in Daramshala felt the same way, & I even skyped (thanks to my Tibetan friend) with a monk in Tibet who explained the situation of religious oppression to me. Dalai Lama isn't the focus of the message, it's Tibet's freedom

    I would make the same argument about blacks in the US. go to any ghetto and ask someone what they think of the government when it comes to racial equality, I bet you they will not think the government is doing a good job. Are they telling the truth? or is it just because things are that way despite all the efforts of the government to improve it. It is the same situation in china.

The Dalai Lama's government-in-exile and the anti-China forces overseas intended to make use of it for their own ends, in particular at a time when China is preparing for a new leadership election in the upcoming 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China", said a Beijing netizen named "Truth Teller".

    Zhang Hangfu illustrated his view by a comparison. "You can imagine that if someone is setting fire in your backyard, can you live a comfortable life? Similarly, if there are splittists harrying in the border areas, how can the country's people live a stable life?"
    He concluded that the stability of any country's border areas decides the stability of the whole country and the Chinese people can never ignore the outside forces who are scheming to split China.

I learned this from long time ago how powerful a propaganda can be, I am in my late 50’s, how things were turn and twisted so far from the truth (by some leader or media). So there was not a country called Tibet !!! No matter what happen in the future, Tibet will always be a part of China, just like other provinces and areas.
