Thank you for sharing this. Thank you Goenka for your wisdom
S.N. Goenka is an excellent Buddhist teacher. I am thankful for his teaching.
He isn't Buddhist. Don't confuse pure Vipassana with Buddhism. Vipassana isn't a religion
@@cashoobh5763 he accepted Buddhism...because katthar Hindu belief had not given him anything 😅😅..don't fall in falsehood by teaching other your darkness. Vipassana was taught by enlighten one Buddha only
@@tictoker I feel sorry for you. If you have taken vipassana classes you would know. Vipassana is a pure form which isn't associated with any religion caste or system.

Karma, the law of nature, infallible justice
Sadhu sadhu sadhu
Sabaka mangal ho
Im looking for a line of his, where he talks about a man who sells houses and a man that sells guns. Any idea of how to find it?
I'm sorry but I don't think present material wealth and high social status comes from past good karma. This man assumes that is true in what he says here. But it's a delusion. Not always, but very often, wealthy people have become that way because they've hurt others. Goenka does not consider that here. I think it is better for practice to be practice, and not to comment on external wealth, status and things of that kind as though they may be the rewards of practice.
If the technique work practically then why not his philosophical thinking about karma is correct?
@@shriniwasgouda2866 Well the technique of vipassana is obviously not something that originates with this guy, nor is it contingent on a particular philosophy. It's something I think he is using to gain attention for himself, which he likes. As to whether it works practically in the context of this specific philosophy; Of course one can benefit from sitting in a variety of contexts, but I suspect it's potential for helping a person gain insight into what they really are, and how to be truly still and empty, has an upper bound when it's associated with superficial notions like this during practice. Sometimes my experience is of seeing that wealth and status and even thinking simply aren't what you are, and words are not necessary. Other people also seem to experience this too. It is very important to feel like that if the technique is to really "work", just for this one moment. The "technique" is just to help with that, it's not for something else. At least that's how it seems for me.
I had the impression this story points at the way one is referring to the world - in a connected way (humane, friendly, understanding the dialectic of life, forgiving oneself and others) or in a more disconnected way (arrogant, aloof, seeing enemies everywhere and not understanding deeper causes for actions, no insight into psychodynamics etc.). The ‚wealth‘ may not necessarily mean extreme wealth, maybe even more of an inner wealth / mindset / inner peace. All the best to you!
@@lilalaunelove That is not what Goenka says at all. He not only says brightness and darkness refer to "health" "money" and "status", he emphasizes this interpretation, and says it is very clear. It's right there in the first couple of minutes above. Very probably that is not what the Buddha meant, but it is certainly what Goenka means.
@@zatakification i just didn't connect a person "quite happy money-wise, family- wise, health-wise, society-wise, a good status and everything", which is his way of simple description without extremes or any further detail, with a wealthy person that lives at the expense of others. as an example - i can have an ok income in comparison and still be "quite happy" with it. i found this too undetailed to be able to say what exactly it means, so i thought his explanation is probably still just the finger, pointing at the moon. That's my idea on it - this is a recording of a long time ago, i was not there, i never knew him personally... i might not know the whole truth behind his words or word choice. In the end it's probably best to practise and find out these things for ourselves, as you said. All the best to you!
