A true British Hero your story will inspire so many hard times may seem like they last forever but only you can put an end to them and keep going. Thank you Frank so happy your still doing what you love and are so good at!!
Hi Frank I did not even know who you were until today. I heard your voice on the radio and I stopped everything I was doing. I was so entranced by that voice and kept waiting to hear your interviewer Jeremy Vine mention your name since I’d caught your voice in mid sentence. When he mentioned your name, I went to You Tube to look for you. Your story is amazing! What an incredible recovery, and I was so sorry that your friend didn’t make it. Like you, I know the pain and suffering of a single moment that is enough to alter one’s destiny. And how incredible the endurance of the human spirit to survive. The grief alters and you learn to live with it. I felt like you were a kindred spirit and simply had to write to wish you well. All the best dearest one and stay blessed!
C-6 c-7 hit and run spinal cord injury in 2007, complete paralysis at age nineteen. Do relate, especially at the mental part being more challenging than the physical one.
I have MS, in a wheelchair, relying on two Carers for everything…….apart from my iPad, as long as it’s within reach. This film made me cry as he as a life, a partner, children…..and most of all determination.
Stay safe stay strong keep going doing amazing we are survivors I have brain injury hypoxia I died 26minutes spent weeks months in coma rehab hospital learning to talk walk again been a recovery massive discovery never give in sending love from headway Nottingham UK xxx
I don’t have a story such as Frank’s, but I have my own - In 2015 I nearly died and was on life support, all up including rehab & learning how to walk again, I was down & hospitalized for 6 months, and I fought hard to get my life back, get back to work, doing things, it was recovering not a disability. But in 2016 someone at work asked if I had a sore back & didn’t and obviously asked why she’d asked, and she told me I was leaning to one side. I didn’t notice anything myself and pretty much shrugged it off and got on with life, or tried to, in a relatively short space of time a leaning of posture became more & more apparent and I started looking into what was wrong. Long story short, out of nowhere I had developed Scoliosis and it was progressively taking over EVERYTHING. I can’t work any longer, walking around, doing everyday things is HARD, I can’t even sit in a chair without holding myself up in some way. As this video says it IS a life sentence and I don’t bother talking about it or complaining, as there really isn’t any point, getting frustrated and angry I think is my only issue, I’m usually fine, smiling, happy, but when something doesn’t go quite right or upsets me it can cause a minor meltdown! However, after my first incident I held onto a few things, knowing I was supposed to of not survived it gives you a unique perspective, you realize how precious everything & everyone is and you never take it/them for granted, I think that’s the one thing Everyone should take from the video, and if you read this, don’t sweat the small stuff & take the time to enjoy your life, don’t take tomorrow for granted as it may not be there for you, or for someone you care about. Aroha ❤️ from Aotearoa 🇳🇿 P.S I nearly died again in 2019 so I really REALLY mean it when I say don’t take tomorrow for granted. 🦋
As a Saudi, it really breaks my heart how a legendary BBC journalist have gone through all this terrifying incident in my country, where the generosity, acceptance and safety are traits of most citzens. We will never ever forget how many innocent lives have been taken in cold blood by those psychopaths terrorists. 😪 🇬🇧❤️🇸🇦
Glad to see Frank back to his normal groove. The whole thing was a shock to everyone who knew him, and I can't imagine what he overcame physically and emotionally to be where he is now, but he made it through! He is the same Frank that we remember in Bahrain. Thank you Frank Gardner for all the great news and for your sacrifices!!! I admire his unstoppable passion for his job, and he continue to prove that as long as we live and breathe...the life ahead can be limitless...keep moving forward. Layered and multi-faceted...Frank Gardner is it!
Was anyone else horrified at the moment he had to wait for another lift because no one was considerate enough to think he needed the lift more than people who could walk up and down the stairs?
Yes my life is in two parts. The vibrant young woman who could do anything that was before I was struck down with dystonia. I lost everything not just control over my own body but friends, family and most important my job. For 10 years I lost hope and dignity. In the US without proper healthcare I felt abandoned by the world. Funny thing is when I let go of the old me I have been able to face the new me. Making new friends and learning to live as I am. Thx for this video very inspiring. Although I do dislike when people call me a warrior. It is not like I had a choice LOL
"So disgusting no health care for the poorest people and low-incomes.. In United States of America.. They spent billions-billions of dollars on the latest warships fighting, jets and WMD... Atomic Bombs.....
You are great! As long as you're breathing and struggling with all hardships, you're already brave enough. Remember that No One can play your bravery role better than you. Sooo,,,,, No comparison between you and Frank or anyone. Hats off to YOU, Harshith!!
Deeply touching story. I just saw his excellent report on the current war. A talented journalist. PS: Have the gunmen been caught and brought to justice?
Respected people healing people for 3 years, natural probiotics and prebiotic. Yet to be disappointed sharing our discovery to the world . First probiotics baby my granddaughter
He is my favourite reporter of the BBC he knows his job forensically and brilliantly he hasn't let his disability stop him doing his job
