Me'dan sound like the typical God modder RPer who want to be like 5 things at the same time.

Med'an, the Goku of Warcraft... -.-
Wait wait wait. Med'an was conceived while Sargeras was still influencing. So that makes him prime target to be corrupted like his dad was. So of course they can make him super powerful, put him in game, make him corrupt, and make him a raid boss.
The characters in these lore videos appear to be so much more alive, probably because the attention to details, i rarely get any feeling of my character having significance but I believe that the new character models will atleast help with that, if only just a tiny bit! :D

Necessary to create a being of allmost unlimitless evil power allmost at the level of a dark god who wanna end all life?
Medival Jonsson it's already been established that our journey into northrend was vital because we saved the world from yogg'saron's madness when we ventured into ulduar. later on we still defeated the lich king.
anyway, the lich king isn't as strong as an old god, nor is he close. the titans couldn't even barely kill one old god and if the lich king was even close to that strength, we mortals should never have been able to touch him.

I allways thought we went to northrend due to the threat from ice crown. yogg'saron was only discoverd after bran and his team found the temple in ulduar.
I think he did or atleast had a very strong feeling about what was going to happen. It's interesting that you ask since I was wondering about this myself. Medivh is supposed to be an incredibly powerfull character, a prophey who can see the future and still he tries to stop Arthas from going to Northrend. In the CoT we find out that Arthas had to go to Northrend or our world would be doomed so it makes you wonder why Medivh even tried.

I love the way you show us the lore, love the accent, I must admit I have never played or want to play wow (I hate the graphics, I am a gw2 addict) but the lore is vast in this game but mainly I love the way you narrate, summarise describe and analyze simply everything in the lore 😃

I noticed this just years later: When you fight Archimonde in Mount Hyjal and when he reaches 10%, and the wisps coming, if you raise the music volume, you can hear the same music play during the end of warcraft 3.

Nice job keeping this professional, Nobbel. I personally don't think he's *that* bad, but that can probably be attributed to me growing up with DBZ and comic books. Still, I know he's a divisive figure, so I really appreciate you saving it for the end and not just spending the entire video ranting about him.

Love the vid, I was always a fan of Medivh and I hope that when the burning legion does invade again we see him come back or maybe his son. I think the burning legion should come and atk in full force and the only way to survive is to get more help each patch. 7.0 Wrathion, 7.1 Medivh/Medan, 7.2 Lich King, 7.3 Resurrected Illidan, and in 7.4 n 7.5 we can have a huge crazy battle with everyone...would be so epic!

Why does everyone hate Medan?
And even then, sometimes you need that Wesley character instead of compromising your other characters to fit that roll
Medan was supposed to be Green Jesus in Cata, but they put in Thrall instead because people would've hated Medan, and what happened? People now hate Thrall.
Basically what Nobble pointed out, it just trivialised Medivh's choices in Warcraft 3. And being every single class?! C'mon!
I'm not going to argue all night with Med'an loyalists! I'll list why I think he is terrible and say no more. He fills roles other characters already fill, he shows up, usurps the comic book story and reduces every major lore character to his periphery. His very existence changes established lore characters. The story he appears in didn't really have any lasting impact. If Med'an ever shows up in WoW, I hope its as a thoroughly corrupted puppet for the Legion, so we can kill him.
TheDancerMacabre but Med'an was "born" to be this "green jesus", he barely did anything worth mentioning apart from being the chosen one. Thrall worked hard to get to where he is now.

I think a lot of people view Med'an as a Mary Sue type character, and rightfully so, everything possible went his way. He's like the Gohan from DBZ of the Warcraft universe, given all this power and just flexed his muscles and was able to wield it with no sweat at all. I think only Thrall went above and beyond in terms of power, with becoming an Aspect, albeit briefly, to destroy Deathwing with the Dragon Soul. I'd love to see Med'an ingame, just not as his Godmode form.
Fun fact: originally Med'an was the one that would take the "role" of the earth Aspect, but Blizzard recognized the community hate on Med'an and re-arranged someone to his place (Thrall).

Hey Nobbel, I have been very confused on Varion Wyrn's story and past. You hinted and very lightly touched on it in this video. He has a demi-god watching over him, and he lost his memory at some point. If you wouldn't mind making a video about him at some point that would be very appreciated. Thanks for the Lore!

I found the story of Med'an great. It was good reading and brought meaning to a lot of characters. Garona for instance. now she is not just a manipulated puppet looking for revenge. she had a reason to want to overcome her manipulation. Aegwynn got redeemed after all the crap she pulled. And now that Jaina is hell bent on horde destruction I think the only person capable of bringing the Alliance and horde together when the Burning Legion comes is Med'an kind of like the role his farther tried to play in warcraft 3 but actually succeeding this time around.

This has to be the coolest story of them all; not the most interesting, but definitely the coolest in my opinion

about Med'an... i think he may be a bit intepreded... yes he is powerfull, and yes he may be a tad "overdone" but... he isnt that powerfull when u see when you see where hes limits is... he isnt powerful by himself. He needs the power of the counsil to become powerfull, and in the end, he returned it to them, meaning he needs power to become allpowerfull. whithout the council powers, he is just talented... and, if you look at his lore he just deafeated cho'gal, but he didnt kill him. and if you look at how more powerfull foes than cho'gal exist... you can clearly see his limitations.
i also like Medivhs final words... but things evolve, to bad or better... and the decicion to make a new council, wasnt the decicion of medivh.
as for medivh giving med'an all his powers... is it direcly inplied... if blizz is smart, they can play that part around, for example... didnt med'an only meet an avatar of medivh? hi didnt meet medivh himself ;)

The lore in League of Legends can be summed up in two sentences.
These kingdoms fought each other so hard, and everyone was like, "This sucks". The kingdoms decided to stop their wars, and create this arena with all of these heroes.
Seriously Medivh fucked up so hard when he tried to warn lordaeron about the Legion, he truly looked like a mad man, even I would reject him at this point.
It would have been a lot better if he simply said, I'm the gardian of Azeroth and I have important imformation for you... (Whatever the King respond) He could then warn him by simply saying, soon the Legion (or uses the word a new horde) a lot stronger that the last one will come and your kingdom will be destroy, you must flee to Kalimdor in order to survive if you don't you are doom. AND THEN leave.
I love how the us the players and our characters, started out from being mere adventurers to becoming legendary heroes.
Nobbel!!! I would really like you to make an episode on how much our characters and each class has progressed in power. I mean we started from fighting wolfs and pigs all the way to defeating Old Gods, Kil'Jaedan and other super powerful beings in Azeroth. Who would need guardians when a single hero has surpassed him in power. Our characters are getting closer and closer in becoming demi-gods or gods themselves.
We're not even close to demigods. We only managed to banish avatars of the Old Gods (Yogg'sarons tentacles were all around Northrend, that's how big he really is). Kil'jaden wasn't defeated at all, just sucked back by the power of the Sunwell, we were just distracting him. Same goes for Deathwing, Illidan, the Lich King, Ragnaros (we trurly killed him only on HC with the help of Malfurion and Cenarius). At the end of Cata Azshara was playing with us like toys and she is just below Archimonde in power.
We are so legendary that no one knows our name. That's bullcrap and worse than jesus Med'an/jesus Thrall.
Guardians are moch more powerful than we are. Something around a Dragon Aspect (excluding embarrasing Nexus War conclusion, which we didn't do by ourselves either, Malygos deserved a better ending) or more.

AWSOME as allways nobbel! i can hear that u are against the hole Guardian thing but do you think it is posible that we will se a new Guardian when the burning legion returns? this will be a good solution to us being able to kill a sort of titan? the counsel could consist of thrall for eksampel and maybe jaina if she gives up the hole vengeance thing that is going on with her? thx pls continue with you vids man!!

I know I'm late on this, but it just seems like the created Med'an to appeal to kids. It's a generic protagonist that has been done many times, and that young kids like to identify with. Hopefully they have just retconed him, or maybe he gets messed up out in whatever plane he is on.

If I remember correctly, in the novel Last Guardian, it was written that Garona disappeared (fled) after Medivh used some mind spell on her and Khadger and Lothar didn't find her anywhere. It was written in a manner we were supposed to believe that both Khadgar and Lothar knew that Garona was now dangerous thanks to Medivhs spell. It was written in a way we were supposed to believe that she Killed the King of Stormwind because of that spell Medivh casted on her.
And now it was Guldan? Hm...

I know this is an old video, but I'm curious: if Blizzard does seek to either retcon the comic where Med'an takes on uber-guardianship, or at least make it non-canon, are we to then assume other events in it have not unfolded yet? Specifically, can I hold out hope that Aegwynn is still alive? Fascinated by her character, and would love to see more of her in future novels/comics/(in game?)!

Varian is protected by Lo'Gosh which means Ghost Wolf in Orcish if im not mistaken

You said that Mediv will never return because he has given up his powers. Still even if he is powerless isn't he an incredible wise character and wouldn't he make the perfect fit for a councellor to the Warcraft Hero's - us -. I personally would really love to have a powerless but wise Medivh standing at Anduïns side when we get to take the fight to Sargares. Plus it would give Medivh a bit of payback for all the trouble the fallen titan gave him. What are your thoughts? Is there room in Warcraft for a powerless badass or do all badasses have to be able to kick the snot out of their enemies.
