Ok so 15 minutes into my 33rd birthday washing machine not draining. and wow after your video i cannot get the grin off my face. Found a guitar pick and a hair clip. Both belonging to husband...Thanks!
Hi. :) Thanks for the great video! I couldn't fix the E 18 error on my Bosch washing machine, even after trying these great tips. Near the back where the pump is I saw a small outlet, and after poking carefully inside I felt a blockage... too big to move through to the part where the filter lid screws open. I put some hook-ended tweezers in and pulled out a HUGE, compacted wad of plastic and rubbish! (Thanks kids!) After that was cleared I could still feel something, but couldn't see because of where the hole was positioned. Using wire, delicacy and a LOT of patience and time I eventually prized out a big plastic ornament which had been wedged in there. My Washing Machine is again working perfectly!
WATCH OUT...... it usually is an issue like this video demonstrates, however, when an E18 occurred my filter was clean and discovered the blockage to be a 50p coin in the fat hose pipe from the drum down to the pump. the pump is located at the bottom corner and is easy to access. TO FIX IT IN 10MINS... i put machine on its side. unscrewed the base. used pliers to slide the hose clip off the pump then shook the hose and some money came out. then put the all bits back in the original states. so, effectively, i made money (kaaching!!) and worked machine now perfect again!
Wow... my old washing machine got thrown out cause of this, now I was ready to replace this one, thanks to this vid, I dodged some massive loss of time and money. Thanks!
Maybe something else to add here is not just check the filter but also where the discharge line of your grey water goes to. I pulled mine apart yesterday and found a 20 cent piece and some metal kids toy that couldnt get passed through to the filter.. Managed to pull the bottom half of the washing machine front off (it was still connected up top but our dryer sits on top and is too heavy for a 1 man lift) and disconnect the rubber hose. I then ran the drain function once more and all is good. Fast forward to today, the E18 code came on again much to my disgust. This time I thought I would check the disharge pipe and happened to find a big clump of lint/filth in the white plastic S bend under the sink and also a piece of connect 4 (kids version) that was lodged in the small pipe. Had to get a pair of long nose pliers to pull it out, but HOPEFULLY (fingers crossed) this is the end of my dramas. Good luck to the DIY crew out there. Matt - Australia :)
Thank you for sharing, good instructions, effortless, found 2 five pence pieces in filter , saved me at least Eighty pounds, God Bless you and your family
I had the exact same issue, the piece of plastic from one of my shirts, I laughed for about a minute or two. Thanks for the video dude, have a wonderful day!
Thanks so much for sharing! The first thing I pulled out of my filter was the same thing from a collared shirt as you, plus a bobby pin 😂. Works like a charm now. Glad I know I can fix it myself. 😀
you can put it in centrifuge mode to see if the cross shaped impellar-pump will spin. Mine was stuck with some lint and hairs sticking out from behind it.
The Idea of the small drain tube is so that you can drain the water into a CONTAINER, rather than letting 5 litres of water go all over your floor. May I suggest that you use a large baking tray to empty the water into. A little at a time. then, when empty, put a towel under the filter to catch any remaining water. MUCH LESS MESS :) Still informative, so well done anyway.
Thank you! Your video was so easy to follow. Great tips about preparing for water drainage. Id also add to have a big towel handy bc, even after the little tube drained the big one also had some i couldnt catch with a bowl. Thanks to you, I knew what to expect and had one nearby! Thank you!
Because he lives in Scandinavia where ever utility and bathroom is a “wet room” with a membrane and drain in the middle of the floor, so he doesn’t need a bucket
@@MandyJonas97 I'm also not quite fluent in english, and I find it very helpful when someone corrects me. It may sound rude but hey, I get to learn english better. To be honest, I learnt english better by being on the internet and getting corrected by strangers, than in school.
Muchísimas gracias por compartirlo, he podido reparar la lavadora y seguir con la colada. Ha sido maravilloso, tenía mucha ropa por lavar, y pensé que se me había roto la lavadora.
I have E18, got the filter, is clean and it still doesn't work . I fear a blockage before or after that turning propeller. What should I do? If I go on "drain", the water comes out nicely out of that tube that you show to drain. But if I just open it like you do, without drain button, it is a mere dropping....there is hardly anything coming out of that tube ..despite the washing machine full of water.... Halp! Does this give a hint where it is blocked and what I can do pls??
Got it, but not with rod. A fabric mouthmask was stuck in front of even emergency hose, prior pump propeller. This flexible tube from drum prior hard plastic filter/pump. Had to dismantle washing machine, but works now👍. E18 can be a serious blockage unreachable from filter outlet outside unfortunately. I also checked easier drain pipe too by flushing it with garden hose outside. (Have extension hose) I have nonono idea how a mouth mask could get swept into it. Same with coins. Some say even socks to be found stuck in drum drain. The water drainage holes of drum are too small, might get sucked down at door rubber.? Thank you for your quick response!
PS: same dismantling has to be done if one can't pull filter out after turning it as things can be stuck vertically. Fingers crossed most times drain problem is just that easy with drain water, unscrew filter, pull out, clean, re-instert. Dismantling washing machine and putting it together took me 2 hours today and a lot of fiddling due to missing a hook tool for the metal ring around rubber.
You just saved me $1,500🤙 Thanks mate 👍
Thank you so much. Boschs suggestion was to call for a Bosch engineer. What a steal! Kudos to you!

+Lys Velisor The washing machine treasures! Worst one is when you discover the money notes in these after laundering! 😂

Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ I did it on my own and felt so relieved once my machine started working
Can't open filter... Do you have any idea
Wiggle it. Could be calcium deposits. Last option add some citrus acid or vinegar to dissolve the deposits, then go again.
Excellent instruction video. Thank you.
Tack så mycket! Hilsen fra DK!

Very helpful for my Siemens E18 error. Mine turned out to be heavy bath towels causing overweight.
Thank you! Your video was so easy to follow. Great tips about preparing for water drainage. Id also add to have a big towel handy bc, even after the little tube drained the big one also had some i couldnt catch with a bowl. Thanks to you, I knew what to expect and had one nearby! Thank you!

thanks...that was VERY helpful (at the end of a long day)....Xx
Great help, thanks so much, we found a lot of dog hair, some coins, 5 hair clips and half a new £5 note.
2.5 £ then, not bad 😂
Why let the water run on the floor? Goodness gracious!
Did you not hear him? He said you need to put a bucket or something there to collect all of that water
Because he lives in Scandinavia where ever utility and bathroom is a “wet room” with a membrane and drain in the middle of the floor, so he doesn’t need a bucket
Thank you! Problem fixed👍
You are a bloody legend. Thanks
Perfect!! It worked, even in Poland. Thanks Ken
Hi Ken, I washed out as like u but still I have seen e-18 error
Protip: put a pan or something under it. Why would you make your floor this wet? 😅
For Gods sake we are trying to fix the machine here
No pan will be enough for this amount of water
Madness. Surely he owns a bucket, or even a black sack of desperate!
For real! That triggers me so hard.
Why didnt you catch the water in a basin? Madness
merci ! j'ai retrouvé un médaillon en forme de trèfle à 4 feuilles et c'est pas une blague 😀
Very helpful. Did the trick! Thanks

Thx !! Your video was very helpful :)
Thank you soooo much ... I found a money in mine 👍😄

Poke with a semi flexible rod in the tube. Another person here had the same problem (similar) and out came a small coin.
Got it, but not with rod.
A fabric mouthmask was stuck in front of even emergency hose, prior pump propeller. This flexible tube from drum prior hard plastic filter/pump.
Had to dismantle washing machine, but works now👍.
