It's not manufacturing of the basketballs that really amazes me, although it is interesting, it is the mechanical setup that makes my mind spin. How people come up with this automated stuff is incredible.
For those that don't know the order of manifacture, it goes in roughly this order: 1) Butyl rubber bladder + valve. It's the thing that makes the ball, well, a ball. Better basketballs may use stealth valves that take up less space and don't have the rubber cap on the outside (which adds a bit more dribblable surface to the surface of the basketball). 2) Nylon. Three-ply thread is the best option, some cheaper manufacturers use two-ply instead. Ideally, nylon should be wrapped so much that you don't see the bladder at all. Serves as the scaffolding of the ball and it + the air in the bladder is what keeps it nice and round. 3) Rubber carcass. This layer + the surface layer is what allows the basketball to be effectively gripped. Better balls like the EVO Nxt use sponge rubber so the ball feels nice 'n soft but also firm. However this is not universal and it depends on the manufacturer - Wilson makes softer balls, Spalding and Molten harder. 4) Surface composite ladder. It's what makes the basketball have that nice orange color, and it allows for grip. Preferably pick a ball where the black canal grooves are wide and covered in leather strips by themselves, but leaving those uncovered is no big deal. Having a stealth valve also helps since it allows for just a bit more leather to be put on, leaving no dead spot around the valve like on a traditional basketball.
Big brands like nike make their products in countrys like Bangladesh because they don't pay too much to the workers there + they work in Bad conditions.
great video! i really appreciated the detailed look at the basketball manufacturing process. however, i can't help but wonder if mass production might compromise some of the craftsmanship that goes into making a high-quality ball. i mean, isn’t there something special about smaller batches that can be lost in a factory setting? just a thought!
@@DannyChen712 yeah plus I don't think that the method that the established brands use are that different anyway. They're all mass produced after all. Maybe a slight difference in materials but that's not really anything big. They'll get worn down after a few months of use anyway, maybe a year or two if used exclusively indoors.
@@UMIunited but thats where the difference comes. like a cheap knock off shirt breaks down in 2 weeks or 2 months, but the good quality stuff can last from parent to a child (mindful of use too). i have some balls that have been used for over a decade. sure nba wouldnt allow them but for a casual game they still bounce and fly just fine (though in crew theres always that "eww its not shiny new i dont wanna touch it" dude)
People can fight and clean up the field fine. The more there that group for good the better. Where do you take the people though? You can't keep them there or close and if you move away your troops, more people from other places come to capture any remaining there. Companies use production, knowingly or tricked. How do you make these places better to sustain people and move companies away from bad ones?

to be honest this is kind of lower automated stuff not that impressive

Not really some of the processes can just be connected and the whole thing will run smoothly

Now i know the process of making a soccer ball. watching the workers is very professional
Mechanic setup 👍
I like how in the factory shooting the ball to the next stage of production is like part of the work. What if they missed?
If the miss they don't get any rice
If they missed he will pay ice tubig
they get traded to some lower level team like the wizards
This is such a cleaver factory to make basketballs I didn’t think any other factory’s can make them
I sure hope the workers are provided with ear plugs to protect them from the terrible music.
What's wrong whit that?
Nah, i like it goofy.
