Have you watched Avatar: The Way of Water? What did you think of the movie? And how do you compare it to the previous Avatar?

Do you plan on playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora? I don't know how much marine fauna it'll have, and it'll definitely be more land-based than Subnautica, but are you interested in trying it out?
What I like about Avatar's alien creatures is that they still act like actual animals instead of just the stereotypical hostile alien monsters.
Absolutely! They are very similar to real animals.
It's really very interesting how they play the marine biologist in the film, my girlfriend is a biologist and works doing environmental impact work for mining companies. It's really not the job she likes the most but she really strives for her work to make a difference in the ecosystems she examines. 🌱

This was the closest thing we'll probably ever get to a Subnautica movie and it was so deeply affecting just watching the long underwater scenes. At first I was like wow, these people are really over-the-top evil for no reason. Then I was like actually, if we found that whales were sentient and also their brain juice could extend the lives of billionaires, real humans would absolutely be doing that. Unfortunately.
I also want a plesiosaur friend and an alien whale friend.
Fun fact: plesiosaurs, their relatives the pliosaurs, the seal-like nothosaurs and the lizard/turtle-like placodonts are all related to turtles since they are all members of pan-testudines (turtles and their relatives).
While reading the behind the scenes of this movie I was gutted to find out that the hunting scene was pretty accurate in invoking real-world whaling methods - specifically the part of targeting mother-calf groups because whales (not sure if a specific type?) have very strong maternal instincts and won't willingly abandon a calf, which makes them easier to hunt.
I believe the giant predator Payakan killed is also partly based on predatory placoderms like Dunkleosteus.
Oh yes! Definitely. I had to look up how Dunkleosteus looked like, and they are definitely similar. Well spotted!
What I love about the Avatar movies is seeing the environment and animals, they’re all so amazing and not seem like they could actually exist, unlike many other movies that depict nature and wildlife on alien worlds. You can tell they studied or probably had help from actual biologists or experts when designing the flora and fauna
You know, if you reenacted the film with toys at the beach in Peredes, you could show the entire film without copyright infringement!

I watched the movie and found it to be about the same as the first one, story-wise. In other words, meh.
I didn't know noise pollution was affecting marine species... I think humans are destroying the earth in every way possible. How sad!
I also thought the marine biologist got impaled on some sort of spike in the movie (oops), I guess that was another "evil" guy. Well, the visuals were stunning! And now I know they were based on real marine species!
So, in sum, Maria's reaction video: 10/10; Avatar 2: 2/10. 😁
p.s. Did anyone recognize Kate Winslet's voice? I sure didn't! Was shocked to see her name in the credits. Still love her, despite this movie. 👀

Either you did not watch the movies, or like my grandchildren you fell asleep. The Earthlings were hoping to exploit the sea creature, and basically they deserved to die, just like we do. Both of these movies make this obvious.
@ebaab9913 I don't think we has humans deserved to die. In the movie, they are just trying to ensure the survival, technological progression, and expansion of our species. Which should the goal any human organization once wwe reach the point of being a space faring species
I think the movie was a great nature documentary but pretty poor as a movie, pretty much like the first one. Cameron seems more interested in getting beautiful nature and animal shots than making a compelling story with good characters. I think he should go back to his deep sea exploring.
Actually that's not true ,I've seen a video where him aswell as the other four writers that worked on masterpieces of their own state that avatar 2 is incomplete because avatar 3 was supposed to be some sort of a continuation for part 2 an that's why there are some loose ends that I'd assume they'll tackle in avatar 3
