There is a weird dynamic with 최 in the US. It’s spelled Choi, but pronounced chway / chae.
I only know this because of my ex-coworker. It threw me off since the English doesn’t match the Hangul.
If it is pronounced as Chway/chae, it means that he is Chinese
@@worldstats.official A quick search will tell you otherwise: short version. Another name bungled by Americans.

It's 2023 now and still looking for something in this video. It's still interesting until now. I've found that Miyeon G-Idle and Kyuhyun SuJu have different surnames although the pronounciation is still the same in Korea (or count as 2, not for a complicated case like Kang surname). Miyeon G-Idle share the same surname with Cao Cao, famous king of Wei in the Three Kingdom Era in China, and Kyuhyun share his surname with Zhao Yun, famous "General Tiger" of Shu in Three Kingdom
Kyuhyun and Miyeon have the same surname.
@@andrewpark5757 hey hey, don't be ridiculous like that. Same in pronounciation but different in meaning, ok? You are American, not "real" Korean so you don't really understand about that. Can you read Hanja perfectly? Look at their Hanja's name, man.
@@doanlinh9525 I am a "real" Korean born in Korea. I suggest you take a look at their hanja names. They share the same hanja surname. Even this video shows Kyuhyun at No.27. Same surname as Miyeon.
