    Excellent video. A couple of things I found. Use a forstner bit and drill from the inside out. It not only makes a very clean hole, it catches the shavings inside and doesn't spray them everywhere.

    As a bank angler I really have no use for this but I’m a sucker for a good DIY! And also as a bank angler, I do have friends with boats 😎 So I still have an excuse to make up a couple of these as gifts. Fun video! 👊🏻

    Excellent video, Tony!! Tomorrow morn will find me on my way to the local Ace Hardware to acquire the necessary components for the project, one that will not only protect the boat but clear my deck of coiled dock line that, for some strange reason, will always find and snag whatever treble hooks in its vicinity.

    Awesome video. This is definitely something that would have saves me a few scratches on my boat . I like the multiple ways you can strap it . This will come in handy at one lake in particular where there is a lot of standing timber where I tie off while crappie fishing or when bluegill are on a bed . These timber beat my boat to death when I tie off the traditional way . Thanks again for the video .

    Great idea! Mind if I offer a couple tips? One, if you wanna use those pliers flip them, those have a directional grip. Also, try using a short piece of 1/2 in copper tube as a hole punch for the rubber.... enjoyed it boss

    I’d love to see an update video showing these being used on different docks and how actually work. Will they work for a situation with surface cleats and the dock is above the gunwale of the boat?

    Nice video, 2 things. 1st. turn your channel locks the other direction, will pull the top jaw down onto the
    the object. 2ed. a thin schmeer of liquid soap rubbed inside the caps will lubricate them so they'll slide
    right on. easy-peezy.

    I am having a hard time loading my boat by myself because of waves and boat traffic. I need someone to hold the boat as I pull the trailer out of the water.
    I think this would solve my problem. Thanks for the tip.

    This is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos and it was enough to make me subscribe and hit the bell. And it’s hard for a buckeye to do that for a channel from that team up north. Great video.
    You said you made a 14” and 16”. May be a dumb question but does a shorter or longer stick work better for you?

    • @NoRedemptionOutdoors
      @NoRedemptionOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Hi Dave. Thanks for the great comment. I very much appreciate your kind words.
      I made one longer than the other on the theory that the bow is further from the doc when you factor the shape of the boat itself. They work well. I also made a pair where both are 16". They also work well. I can't say there is much difference.

    I like them but what keeps the boat from moving either forward or backward allowing the sticks to parallel the dock. Therefore basically letting the boat back up against the dock?

    • @NoRedemptionOutdoors
      @NoRedemptionOutdoors  2 роки тому

      That is a great question. So far my experience is if the dock sticks are attached at a diagonal to the dock, it seems to keep the boat away. If you attached them perpendicular to the dock, then the boat can shift forward or backward and hit the dock. So.... I'm going to do a video to test the dock sticks, and find out once and for all if they will keep the boat away from the dock, even when there is wind or wave motion pushing on the boat. Keep an eye out for that video soon! Thanks for watching!

    Not trying to be critical, why would someone use dock sticks instead of fenders? Is it a freshwater thing? I'm from Florida and I think almost every boater carries fenders to protect the boat from the dock. Is it a storage issue on bass boats?

    • @NoRedemptionOutdoors
      @NoRedemptionOutdoors  2 роки тому

      I think it's because bass boats have so little freeboard, so bumpers are harder to use. Plus many bass boats are loaded up with fishing gear, so yes to some degree it's a space thing too.

      I would concur for the average DIYer. However, there are lots of people who aren't very gifted in these areas and the slow pace and details for these people is valuable. I think the video quality was excellent and the details were helpful. Of course there are people like myself that you could literally hold them in the air and say that you made them yourself and that would be enough. We always have the option of skipping to the end.
