I'm getting older and not so steady on my feet as I used to be. I use it to help me get out of the boat as well. Stepping from a floating boat to a floating dock can be difficult for me. I just hook to the other side of the dock, and pull myself out.
Yes, helpful in so many ways: hooking a cleat, holding off a boat, picking up a mooring ball line - I would say 'moored at the marina' or 'in /at my berth'. The only parking my boat does would be on a trailer behind my car :)
I need one of those boat hook plastic ends, but with a internal threaded screw instead of being attached to the pole by a revit, as I have an extending pole which is threaded, this pole I use for my hard & soft boat cleaning brushes, plus if I have to retrieve something from the drink, I also can attached a kids fishing net. LALIZAS used to make these, but I can’t find one on there website, does anyone know where I can purchase 2 or 3 threaded boat hooks ?
If you haven’t purchased a boat hook yet, look up Super Stick. It’s a combo push pole/boat hook that you can attach many other accessories. Indestructible and it floats. Plus it’s made in America. $85 on Amazon..
@@duaneegan1230 I know this is forever old but on the model he is showing the yellow tip is removable and threaded for other attachments like a scrub brush

That's what you call a Amateur Pole I've had a 25'ft Sea Ray and a 27' Formula w/twin V8's always had one on the boat but I never had to use it. I docked my boats backing it in it was a lot easier when you have a boat that size. Love your channel you're fun to watch you look and talk a guy work with his name is Larry Jackson are you related to him you could pass as brothers. Can't wait for your next video ciao ciao.
Never bought one, never will. If you need one of these to dock your boat, get someone to teach you how to do it the right way. 😁👍 It is however useful if you use a mooring buoy.
@@WayneTheBoatGuy good guess lol I actually do have very long arms 😂. But I mean, I usually just aim, kill power and coast to the dock so I don't need to be at the helm.
It would have been easier for me when I was learning if your five year old could have been there to show me. But please let me know when your five year old is running a class.

Thank you for sharing. We will buy one.
Nice explanation...I always wondered about that...great idea!
I sure enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Glad to hear it - thank you!!
Hello Wayne
Happy new year to you and your family. This boat pole was the first item I got when I began my boating life. 😎
Wise choice! I have been lucky that mine floats on more than one occasion. (but usually because a friend is using it)
Thanks Wayne I just got a 55 ft boat and I don’t know a darn thing about nothing but I be sure to get a boat hook
Good luck! There's a lot to learn but it can often be a fun journey
Love the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks!
How long is your pole?

I wonder if they don't use the screw on type because they can unscrew so easily when you're using the pole.

Does it float?
Hi Wayne! I just bought a 30-foot sailboat and I don't know how to sail! I will be sure to pick one up!
Thanks for watching!! Lots to learn if you're going to be sailing! But so rewarding when you catch some wind!
I want to know if it would be useful for folding the ladder back up instead of getting down on all fours and reaching down to raise it back up.
Neat idea - I have to try that!
Docked at the marina 🤣 nice video
Thanks 😅
Nice video. as usual!... BTW, I think we're docked at the Marina, not parked.
It’s called being docked, btw I love the vids
We call it berthed
thank you!!!

Also great for retrieving your hat!!!
TRUE!! lol
Wow
I had one and wife droped it at the dock, people next to us graped it and took off with it. WTF.
That's messed up!
He says rope and line. It is just called a line.
What is the brand of the pole? I’d like to look for it on Amazon. Thanks
I have an Amazon link to a similar pole in my description!

“Store” he meant marina. It is called a boat hook.
Boats are docked not parked.
you're right!

You must have REALLY long arms. I don't know anyone who can reach all 4 pilings in my boat slip.

My five year old knows more than this rookie.. Nothing to see here…
