I love how it evolved from a robotic floating hologram into something that actually looks like it is reacting properly to physics. I love how multiple characters can now be on stage and each will look to be responding independently of each other rather than looking like they all are running the same script.

I remember seeing Miku Expo in London last december and noticed especially how even when Len was doing the exact same moves as Rin, it looked as if his body language was ever so different, and just a bit more boyish, rather than it just looking like they directly pulled the exact same animations and applied it to another model, and I always try to look out for it now in live songs that feature more than one vocaloid (especially if Len or Kaito are one of the other singers, you see the most variation between genders) Such attention to detail

I don't think people realize hoe difficult actually perfoeming in stage is as well. It's a completely different beast to perform live (and dance and sing, nobody sounds good dancing and singing at the same time. They play a track overtop to support the voices), as opposed to recording in a booth. Also, booth recordings always have digital tweaks to them nowadays. Miku, since she's a program, is always singing that booth recording. I do love that these concerts isolate the vocal tracks and have live instrumental alongside it tho. Major props to the musicians and composers that work on these concerts. There's some amazing live renditions we've gotten over the years (shoutout to Ura-Mote Lovers live 👀👀👀👀)
Well it's because various producers, artists, tunners, composers all are using Miku to create songs and more songs.
Miku is not only one figure, but a lot of people's hard work

The 2010 concert I feel was the best. Her style, the songs, the animation. It was not as high of quality in resolution, but something about the setup and her movement was very appealing.

I think 2018 looks fine, though yeah, it's a little bit lacking. I have to give them credit for at least trying out new things to improve their concerts. It's really cool how they can have Miku interact with the audience more and create better a atmosphere, and I'm sure that they'll improve as it goes along. I'm not so fond of all these "devolving" comments, because how can you improve something without trying to make improvements? So yeah, model isn't as good but I'm sure they'll work on that. Give Crypton a little bit of leeway.

I think the only thing that’s really off putting about the 2018 model is the nose, and the shading on that nose. It creates a stark contrast from her more anime like older version. (Y’know with the small, almost invisible noses). I think people are bothered because it probably dips into the uncanny valley a little bit for them.

I still prefer the 2013-2017 models. Vocaloid doesn't have to look realistic. These models look anime style while still moving very smoothly and beautiful textures.

2010 was my favorite, she looks a bit more realistic yet fake, I think it was the way her hair was moving and detailed. Like it gave this realistic hair flow a bit.
Then again 2018 has a small bit of a realistic feel too.

I really like the model for 2018. I do see how people can think it's bad because it's a change in model, but at that time the movements were being rendered and projected live. That would probably take a TON of time to render all the movements and shadows for a higher poly model like the ones from Arcade. The live animation looks nice and fluid to me actually, and I love the audience interaction. It's not bad for a test! I cannot wait to see how it'll improve!
Fluffy-Iroha i couldn't agree more. I actually really love the style of the 2018 varient. There is always room for improvement, but so far the modellers have out done themselves.

I agree mostly. The 2018 models animation and movement I felt was a bit Skippy? Jumpy? Flickery? I also noticed they changed the type of screen they are projecting the model from and because of that it creates a slight reflection that turns into a kind of glare on the screen. Maybe that's what's causing the flicker when ever she moves. Her art is stunning though.

2009 was using models from the original Project Diva for PSP games. 2010 was using models from Project Diva Arcade. This was a HUGE upgrade for the game as well! ^,^

My opinion for 2018: I like that she interacts with the crowd more. But she just looks way too realistic.( it's not the signature cute, look of miku) I prefer the way she looks in some of the older models and the games( future tone, x, etc.) My favorite live models( my opinion) : 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017(examples-sand planet, whimsical mercy: magical mirai 2017). I dont mind the first model shown from 2018, where shes wearing her snow miku 2018 outfit. Just not a fan of the second 2018 model.
It's probably because this one can interact with the crowd that it needs to be more realistically proportioned, to match the actor doing her motions live.

I haven’t listened to vocaloid since spring 2017, since someone here did say that some people moved onto Kpop, like me. I did forget about Miku for a while until a couple of days ago there was vocaloid in my recommended everywhere.
starry night Of course not! I knew my love for vocaloid would one day disappear, and it did, but it doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t amaze me! The live concerts are always so pretty and hyped! Even if Miku isn’t hyped anymore, she’s still loved and adored by all! 😊
