Honestly Miku's concert feels more like celebrating the song and the community together with like-minded people. Its also about appreciating the people behind the song that made it popular in the first place
Well maybe one day Miku will get her own physical body one day. It's the next step, and from there Miku would finally interact with fans and they could meet her in person.

I remember my first Miku exposure and ai tell this to EVERYONE. My elementary school music teacher had a poster of Miku and two other vocaloid up in the school hallway outside of her classroom for the world to see. I didn’t know WHO these girls were, but I KNEW they were pretty and my mind would never let me forget them. It goes to say, this was my first introduction to any anime art as well. I didn’t realize who these girls were until the END of HIGHSCHOOL. To this day, my elementary school had the coolest music teacher.

I'm 50. I went to my first Miku concert at Magical Mirai 02Sept23. It was epic. My teen daughter got me into vocaloid music. The concert is something I hope she looks on with great fondness when she is older. It was awesome for her to share the event with me and I am forever thankful.

I love how they always give the spotlight to their band members, too many performances just go without it and it’s such a bummer because they’re playing their heart out but I never even get to see their face or know their name :/
The Puffy AmiYumi concert I went to at Anime Boston some years back did this midway in. They also asked the audience for recommendations of places to go to for the local food around the area of the convention center.

The band members look so stoked to be there. Maybe it seems weird to others but it’s still performing arts, and the digital stuff was done by talented artists. It’s a visual treat
my first introduction to miku and vocaloid was when I was 10 years old and watched a concert of the song "senbonzakura", and it remains one of my favorites to this day
Same also when I was ten but it was through a meme animation of project Sendai and let’s say I am now obsessed with vocaloid and slowly dragging my friends into it as well
Miku came to Seattle a few years ago and I went with a friend that isn't into anime and mostly listens to metal and rap and he had as much fun as I did. The live band at that one was also great and you could tell they were loving the energy of the crowd.
The fact that everyone started singing together when world is mine came on is just so adorable. i love the vocaloid community 🥹

That song was what what made me listen to vocaloid, because I thought they all just sounded like peppy pop songs, when they actually have whole range of styles. My first exposure to Vocaloids were, believe it or not, FALL GUYS.
They did a Miku collab, I started to see her more often everywhere I go, then my classmates got me into Project SEKAI so yeaaa there's that
One thing I appreciate about Vocaloid culture is the cycle of creativity and collaboration it creates.
It’s not just the song, there might be someone else who illustrates the characters in the song, and someone else again to create the music video.
And after the song has been released, other people may feel inspired to cover it, or to cosplay as the characters, or create fanart… or memes.
And the cycle continues.

Fun Fact: The spinning leek song actually came from a looping clip of Orihime from Bleach spinning a leek around and then someone made that loop while adding a song that fits it perfectly. That was before Mike became a thing.

It's how I reacted when two of my friends explained Hatsune Miku to me... I still don't get the hype, but I know the figures look cute.
My introduction to Vocaloid was when I was 10 years old and my cousin in high school showed me the video for Scissorloid. At the time I genuinely didn't know things could be "dark" so I was mind blown when there was blood and betrayal shown in the song. It sent me down a very deep rabbit hole and every time I found a new song I would be so excited to hear it. The topics in a lot of the songs helped me grow up and honestly cope with a lot of hard things life threw at me. It gave me a new gateway to express how I felt through art and music. I'm 24 now and I'm still obsessed with Vocaloid. I still feel that flutter every time I sing Vocaloid songs and I hope one day I too can go to a live concert
The band members genuinely enjoy playing and having fun just boost the mood even higher! I'm not even there and I can feel the enegery and excitement through the screen!
I've always been more of a Gumi fan, But its nice to see how strong the vocaloid fanbase still is after 19 years.

AAAA THIS HATSUNE MIKU CONCERT WAS THE BEST THAT I EVER SAW IN MY LIFE!!!!! I am a huge Hatsune Miku fan and I loved Hatsune Miku since I was a kid and I see Hatsune Miku as my idol and my singer who sings such wonderful songs made by professional Vocaloid producers and my other favourite Vocaloids, Rin, Len, Luka, KAITO and MEIKO are all my other idols too! I'm glad you've experienced your first Miku concert and I love how you always fulfill my childhood dreams into for me to achieve them and I find that really supportive of you.
These concerts always looked so very bizarre to me, but I can tell that a lot of love goes into the actual concert and the band looks ecstatic to be playing.
The whole atmosphere radiates pure fun.
The crowd lights are great.
My mom thought all the songs I liked were fun songs and upbeat ones(fair given the ones I’d shown her), then I showed her my actual favorites(Lost One’s Weeping, N25’s songs, Aishite) and she looked at me like I was crazy. The duality of Vocaloid!

Damn. That "Miku bikes!", thing is exactly what happened here in Finland during the 2023 Eurovision. Everything was Cha cha cha, the spring leaves were Cha cha cha leaves, children in safety vests were cha cha cha children, etc.
My first introduction to Miku was actually a few years ago from a goofy meme of her, then I started listening to Hatchi (the first time I listened to vocaloid) and I liked his songs! Then I got recommended some Miku songs and started listening to her songs. I wasn’t a massive fan at first, but now a year or so later I have come back to her songs and they are actually quite good.
Being a musician and all around nerd for music, people often ask me if I dislike vocaloids. I honestly think they’re some of the most creative projects I’ve seen in our modern music cultures. I mean, someone made a synthesizer that mimics a voice, which is already really cool on its own, but then someone had the idea of using that technology to build a character and an entire project around that character! That’s so incredibly cool! It’s an astonishingly fun amalgamation of sound design, character writing, and storytelling! There’s nothing out there quite like it (to my knowledge) and that’s why it’s so impressive to me. Plus, it’s inspired countless brilliant artists as well. Just take a look at “Sad Machine” by Porter Robinson! So excited to see this evolve in the future :)

Like Miku has Leaks, Rin has Oranges cuz oh her headband, Len for Bananas cuz of his hair, Kaito is an Ice cream(?) I think, not sure bout Meiko and I don't know why Luka is associated by a huge tuna, hahahaha I think the fans most likely made them. It's like an unspoken agreement of everyone in the fanbase.

I was in a social skills class when I was young. It was a class for kids with special needs to learn about social skills. I actually had a lot of fun there, and I made some good friends. During my time in the class, I had discovered Vocaloid music, mainly Miku and Luka. They were in a stop motion video made by Moonshine animations. At first, i didn't know who they were or where they came from. I was later informed that they were virtual singers known as Vocaloids. I was infatuated with their music, and I became hooked ever since. And every time my class went on a field trip, I would listen to Vocaloid music on my phone whenever I needed to occupy myself. I've been a fan ever since. Miku and Luka are my 2 personal favorites. So....yeah. That's my story.

Glad you enjoyed it! I went to the one in Sapporo which was the live streamed one. Its not my 1st concert, (like... 7th maybe? Ive lost count) but i was very happy with it! The set list was good, and I loved mikus design this time, although a little sad they didnt make a model for the hologram. Thunderbolt was no Magical mirai, but it was a great experience. Always happy to put on my happi Jacket, grab my light sticks and go.
If anyone ever gets the opportunity to go to a Miku concert, I highly recommend it, even if youre not a vocaloid fan

I went to this concert in Osaka and it was great! I’d really recommend Magical Mirai if you can get in because the expo part is really neat and the general production value is a much higher. The best Vocaloid concert I’ve ever been to was actually the Project Sekai concert. Just an utterly incredible experience all around

Wow... 9:10 I never expected them to do Hated By Life Itself at an actual concert. I think if I had ever gone to a Miku concert without knowing the setlist and that song started playing, I'd actually start crying. That song means a lot to me, but it's not exactly a concert-esque song so I was taken aback when it came on

The only thing connecting the vocaloid genre is the voice that’s singing the song, so it isn’t bound to a specific musical genre and producers can add their own unique style to their songs. Not to mention, vocaloid singers can be tuned differently, which can make each producer’s music sound different as well
I'm glad that the band in miku concert always get some spotlights cuz they really made the music almost identical to the original sometimes even better than a original

I finally get to go to one of these! It's so incredible for me because this has been my special interest and part of my daily life for a very long time. My best friends and I have orchestra seats for the Miku Expo 10th anniversary, after 10 years of vocaloid and knowing these two amazing people, and all the bonding we did over vocaloid, I finally get to go. I've already cried once, and I'll definitely cry my way through the concert lol. I'm so excited, May can't come fast enough!
3 years ago, just before the pandemic hit my country, I went to my first ever Miku concert and it was simply the best night of my entire life. I was so happy I even cried, it was that special of an experience… Now, my eyes don’t really work and even with glasses I was having a hard time seeing what Miku was doing or what she was wearing, but the simple sound of the music I always listened to and her voice were more than enough to have such an amazing night!

oof feeling old, i was in late highschool + college when vocaloid was getting popular and i got into it. i was at Miku's first US concert (Mikunopolis) and I went to a Miku Expo later one. They are so magical!!!! Watching this on Miku's birthday too, happy bday miku!!

I have never heard a vocaloid song in its entirety, and like emily’s brother I don’t fully get the appeal of vocaloid concerts, but after this video? I kinda get it. it’s less about the live music aspect and more about the ~vibes: it looks really fun to have everyone doing the glow sticks dances, and the band looks really happy to be there! it seems like a fun experience
