Top tip take the top part of the boiler case off 2 screws on the top helps a lot when taking burner out ect 👍

Not following this 🤷‍♂️ top part of the case doesn’t off otherwise you would have to remove flue turret or did I miss something

Just thinking about it , wouldn’t help with that pesky back nut 🤷‍♂️ had no issues at the front easy .. I could have thrown whole thing in in one piece to make it easier .. no fun tho..

Alot of engineers would just turn round and say that a boiler of that age with the price of the parts, the labour involved was beyond economic repair and recommended a new one, so fair play for fixing it 😀

Thanks for your videos, it’s so refreshing and inspiring to witness your enthusiasm and expertise.I must admit you’ve taught me a few things and helpful tips. No paste police here. I’d rather have a bit of paste on than have a bloody weeping joint. I use jet blue plus on as many joints as I deem necessary. Another good job done. Hope you had a great Christmas and all the best for hopefully a better year for all of us.

I would think it’d be a bigger job on the combi, but maybe not?My last job before the Xmas break was a leaking return unit on a Worcester 28i like the one where the tenants ran a tap/shower and flooded u out. Worcester would of replaced the heat exchanger for approx £320. You have to go on a plan for 12 months but you cancel after the time. Plus they will then look after the boiler for bext 12 months. Its great to show people how to replace one. But i would always put my customers pocket first.

@@darrenmartin4471 Thanks buddy.. the state of the companies policies is crazy down here. I had a DOA on 🐰 I fitted on a Friday.. had to wait til Tuesday new boiler... I bought the valve fitted it so cust was warm.. then had to go back to remove and fit old part for them to replace it. As no warranty. Then the guy gave it a special code so now the warranty has a penalty charge on it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ they will grab all our customers put on contracts or services and only work left will be plumbing.

By the time you add the labour it’s a no brainier, fit a new boiler, then they get full 5-10 year warranty and all new

How much to fit a vertical flue and new boiler inc flush and warranties on the 2 nd floor thru a roof then ?..
Labour was )£300 odd ... a flush is £450 get 10 years on a wb hex... NO Brainer Happy new year 🥳

I'm pretty confident the boiler should be good for the next five years plus. Im sure the customer would have compared the cost of a new boiler quote to the repair/fix cost. If they're happy, then that's what matters. Them new boiler warranties can be easily wriggled out of, some call-out engineers won't even go into loft spaces.

Shocking how can a boiler have such a massive failure , I’d be taking wb to small claims for such poor durability and faulty design yes it’s 10 year but not neglected by the looks of it too , wb pay more for marketing than quality , why people fit them I don’t know 🙄

Dr Pipe great video as always but watching Allen hart tear downs and speaking to a few folk I would never buy wb due to their use of plastic for some parts do stupid design just penny pinching gone mad in my eye , of course all brands have their points but wb seem to be winning and not in a good way.

Ollie Neate depends on needs as a cheap beginner boiler I like the baxi 600 but as dr said it depends on your gang lol I have Vaillants in all my places but given another choice I would go for a baxi 600 or main equivalent for price , each to their own but obviously the install and maintenance makes a massive difference to any choice
