I can only imagine what this must feel like. It's not your first large cat, but the sensation of taking delivery and hitting the water must be awesome. Great motivator :) Nice boat. I like your setup - open exposed sail handling is a deal breaker in cooler climates. the little bimini(?) would be great when things are wet and cold. Congratulations.
glad to see you got seats and biminis( even if they are soft) I just watched the test sail in '14 with the guy standing there in the open and thought, yeah naa
Hi Laurent, the two bars under the boat hold the floor of the life raft compartment in place. If the boat flips over, you can remove the bars to pull the raft out while standing on the upside down bridgedeck. If the boat is on fire but upright, you can remove the raft from underneath the boat when you are in the water.
Doug Hibberd what happens if the boat is upright and with open sails while it is on fire? How can you access the life raft? The boat will move forward while you jump on the water.
Doug, take the chance now that Outremer builds a foiling versoin of the 5x... good times as Gunboat is battling its fight front US courts against the Taiwanese warft producing the GB in China... would be great to see more foiling boats of that size... not just a "cruiser version". :-)

Beautiful catamaran!! Congratulations
Do you have video showing the higher speeds as well? And maybe on how it behaves in waves?
He's put out all the 5x vids he has already. He sold that boat and built a 4x and has a new blog on that as well.
Thanks!Do you know of UA-cam videos that show more of the actual average speed in different circumstances of a 5X?
@@CatGreatcircle not many on youtube but if you go to his sail puffin sailing blog you could prob just ask him
