You should definitely have some of the main up it evens the pressure on the rig and gives you the ability to turn into the wind if you can't get the code d down as could happen if the wind pics up.
How well does a big cat like this tack? Do the daggerboards help it tack better? I had a Hobie 16 and you frequently had to backwind the jib to bring the bow around.
pretty much all the problems a cat has due to applied forces can be helped greatly by dagger-boards, yes the daggers help it to tack easier as well as point higher and sail faster downwind when raised. This is just a really good true sailer's boat.
