Place setting defines the capacity of dishwasher. Higher the place settings, more utensils can be loaded for wash at a time.
For Indian kitchen, it's recommended to go for high capacity (high place settings) dishwasher because it's common to have more utensils of crazy shapes in Indian kitchen.

What maximum size and number Indian S.Steel round dining plates (Called Thali which is raised by about 1.5 inch at outer edge) can be placed in the full plates section of a dishwasher?

The racks are not designed for thali, it's designed only for plates. Since Thali doesn't fit in rack, it occupies too much space when placed elsewhere. We shifted from Thali to plates for most needs. You can place about 2 to 3 plates instead of on Thali.

Want to know if the diswasher gets dry after wash cycles?

Yes, dishwasher and dishes remained dried after wash cycle.
It has about 6 modes, 1 or 2 modes don't have dry function, but most common modes like eco intense have dry part in their cycle.
