I was skeptical about this video until “you’re fucking high” now I’m sold!
The problem is once you remove the cat, pre-muffler, and stock exhaust, the bike will be too light and fly away. 🪽🪽🪽
LMAO
That doesn't sound like a problem to me 😂
Can’t wait to see velocity stacks on this thing. The Ninja 400 likes stacks, hoping this does to
Saying that it's not a big jump to go from 400 to 451 really isn't wrong. That's only a 12% increase in displacement. The increased torque isn't just coming from that increase displacement. They very obviously retuned to the engine to make power lower down and make more power overall.
Nate making the 500 look like a 125 😂 That would feel like a different bike 👍🏻
What you guys are doing with this featherweight sport bike is incredible. I hope you give the same treatment to the Aprilia RS 475 when it's available.
I know it isn’t the point…. But this makes me want to ask: how much is this killing the fuel economy?
I got my MT07 flashed and it went from 50MPG to 35ish, 40 if I'm on a highway. Can't say much about the Ninja 500, but 2WDW generally does similar things to all bikes, mainly fuel cut is removed
We've had two 400's, and our 500 is waiting to be picked up. You have to consider, comparing the charts, that the 500 is flopping on its face near redline....which is also lower. But, yeah, it looks like an overall better powerband for the street. At the same time, based upon stock gearing and redline, the 400 will absolutely smoke this thing in top speed.
But...this has a higher top speed as I've seen. Ninja 400 was lucky to hit 115mph, I've seen this hit 120 on dyno tests.
Aside from that, same price, so why pay more for less power with the ninja 400, plus no TFT, no keyless...
Full disclosure, I have a 2024 500 KRT as my first bike.
@@RobertMorgan oh, and congrats on your new bike! My first new one was a 1986 600 Ninja that I got when I was 16. 🙂
I picked up a new 500 as well I think the lack in the top end numbers might have something to do with the slipper clutch when shifting in higher rpm’s I definitely notice it’s not as aggressive and I’ll definitely be upgrading to something bigger in a couple years
I wish Kawasaki would give in and switch to a 270° crank. Their 180° crank P twins sound like 💩.
Good numbers and great job detailing the process as always.
I have to agree with you on that. 180° crank sounds agricultural.
What do you care about more? Kawasaki knowing they can get more / better power out of a 180 crank? Or the sound it makes? I know which one id choose.
IKR that 270 exhaust note is intoxicating!
@@JD-fd6gt The CF Moto 450 has a 270 crank and makes 50hp. That's plenty if you ask me.
@@JD-fd6gtthe motor doesn’t rev high enough for it to matter.
Ninja 500 is my first bike. Im just happy being on two wheels. It's so much fun...bike sounds like shit and is technically slow...but im still so pleased with it!
How much $$ for that 5 hp... Like bike/exhaust/flash/labor still cheaper than a used better motorcycle ??
$5.5k for the bike, even on the consumer end the exhaust and ECU flash would run $1100. In the end you get a track bike that will slap liter bros. Will it keep up in the straights? Absolutely not, but it’ll corner like a monster.
"Anyone saying that, you're fuckin' HIGH" and that's when I subscribed...
Do ninja 400 slip ons fit the 500??
Yes
Will this tune work on the eliminator? Same power plant from my understanding
Did you adjust the ignition map at all to reach these numbers or is it just AFR work.
Getting my new 500 in 4 days and been looking for aftermarket exhaust systems with no luck, including M4s website. Any idea when they will be offering either slip ons or full system to buy?
How much and how much per month and what color?!
I called M4 and they said the full system exhaust they offer for the 2023 ninja 400 will fit the 2024 ninja 500 because it's the same frame. I'm going to buy that full system for my bike
@@BabyMikeVenomI got the White/Grey $5,700 for the bike + $200 dealer fees = $5,900. Then I had to tack a few hundred bucks on for taxes…
I think it would’ve been like $140/mo for 60 months with no money down.
@dhess34 thank you for that information! I was hoping to haggle the base model to 4999 maybe get 100$ a month payments (:
That's a long time on a 50hp bike@@BabyMikeVenom
Thankd for the share. Do you guys do max speed also during dyno? Or only torque and power?
What the top speed it’s getting with it installed and the exhaust?
MotoAmerica Minitwins series is going to have problems with the new Kawasaki bikes. Or should I say, other brands will have trouble. This machine is making more power and torque with 451cc than the old 2006 Ninja 500 made with 498cc, and weighs about 63 lb less _before_ getting an M4 exhaust.
im turning 16 in a couple months and i was deciding between the ninja 400 and the zx6r but i think this will be the perfect bike
I love mine
Zx6r is crazy as a first bike.
@@SCP-2402 yeah fr. It would be horrible to ride around town also. I'm thinking either this ninja or an r7
@@Jimmyspov I’m 19 took my MSF a few months ago and waiting for my dealer to get more 500s cuz they only have anniversary edition rn. Both the R7 and ninja 500 have similar fuel injected parallel twins so I’d chalk it up to cost bc R7 is 4k more. You also should consider resell value and your own skill+maturity. I’m getting a 500 because if I financed a larger bike I’d 100 percent be running from cops in a few weeks with a pinned throttle so the 500 will force me to ride tamer so I can build experience safely. R7 has 25hp more so your margin of error isn’t as good as with a 500 and at the 9k price range you’re overpaying for the performance of an R7 but it doesn’t really matter if you get good resell. Up to you but I think not getting into a larger financial obligation then you have to at 16 is a good idea unless your parents are helping you out.
@@SCP-2402 I’ve had a 250 cc cafe racer when I lived in Peru last year and I’m back in Cali and I think I’m gonna go with the R7 cus I think I can last me longer
I have a ninja 500. Can you do a tune for Yoshimura AT-2 full system?
Nice!
Who. Will be eat smoke and dust cfmoto 450 sr vs ninja 500 in full upgrades?
I bet the CFMoto wins in a track shootout. I test rode a 450SS for about 6 blocks, and the rider position is way more aggressive than the 500. The 500 is more like a commuter bike playing dress-up as a sport bike. Though in full track dressing you could move rear sets around to get a more aggressive rider triangle on the 500…
But I still love my 500. #biased
Hopefully next facelift will be inverted forks
Question here, will this same Ninja 500 or Ninja 400 make more power if they have 270° crank instead of their current 180° ones..??
No,If anything 180' crank produces more power. The advantage of an uneven firing interval engine on a motorcycle is that it can increase grip through corners, not create more power
Take a look at the 450SS from CF moto which uses a 270' KTM style crank. It produces less horsepower and torque than the Ninja 500 in N/A markets.
Do y’all take calls? I am getting the 500 this weekend and I’ve got a few questions I was hoping I could inquire about 😖
You get it yet? 😶🌫️
What happens to the performance if you put a full system with no tune?
Will run lean. no bueno
Does the Ninja 400 Slip on fit the Ninja 500 minus the tune
I would like to know if you guys could do a ecu reflash for the CF MOTO 450SS?
Lastima que no se ve el toop speed :c
Can I have my 04 cbr 600 f4i tuned ?
You really shouldn't push your lawnmower this hard, it's bad for the grass.
Too tinny, GPR Deeptone sounds much better
How much fokkkking top speed
110 lmao
@@BabyMikeVenomcap
I did 121 stock and rolled off throttle. Had a good 5mph or so left tbh @@BabyMikeVenom
Amigo como salen en Facebook?
well with a engine like that the suspensions are a joke compared to the competition
i have a 400 and R3 and by far the R3 handles so much better, i would love to have the 400 engine in the R3. Also lost the speedo after about a month in. the issue is the front and rear wheel speeds are being detected differently engine code/light comes on. i can clear the codes and speedo works until the front tire comes out of contact with the road, triggers engine code/light and have to pull over and clear it etc. such a pain i just stopped clearing it and drive it.
What competition? Be specific.
@@dhess34 lets see, Rc390, aprilia rs457, cfmoto 450ss and cbr500r. Aprilia has the best with preload comp and rrebound adjusters
dosent ninja 400 makes power up 10k rpm? the 500 shifted that powerband lower so the difference what, 500 makes more torque at mid and low and cannot rev high as 400 did, i'd wait to see track and drag comparisons as 400 is still lighter bike.
Lighter by 8lbs, i.e. 2.4% heavier (stock), with (stock) gains of *24% torque*, and 8% HP. Only an absolute smoothbrain could think that a 400’s even close to a 500.
95% of these bikes will never leave city streets, so saying that you’re missing the 11k to 12k rev range is pointless. If you want 12k+, just get a 500 and reflash the bike to increase the rev limiter.
Every ‘but muh 400’ argument I’ve seen so far is ludicrous.
If these are your concerns just get a R6 lol
If you're concerned with that then I personally think its wasteful. I think Kawasaki has set a clear difference where this is strictly beginner street bike segment whereas if you're concerned with track and drag type stuff then that's exactly what the ZX4R is supposed to be for. Both are towards the bottom but of the spectrum but they make a bike specifically targeted for what you're looking at
Hrmmm i smell bull 💩
These 400 simps are the funniest people on the internet 🤣😅
Is the tune affected by altitude, or does the ECU just adjust the new map to compensate?
