Great stories. Without guys like DK, NASCAR would of ran fields of 12- 15 cars....and probably would of eventually failed. The independents we're a vital part of NASCAR. DK and the likes were some very very smart and clever men. Not to mention brave.
I raced karts in Okla City at Mac Arthur Park Speedway in the late 80s. I ran a 100cc McCulloch and funded the whole thing growing weed. Love hearing these stories.
Man, I love the interviews ! These pampered Racers of today have no understanding of what it's like to earn a spot in racing ,right now Nascar and other racing forms are grooming some kid for a sport .it's a crying shame.
D.K. was the very first NASCAR driver autograph obtained in person in 1978. That collection has now grown to over 100, but there will always be only one "first".
Mark Martin and Dick Trickle had a story about Mark saying " Lighter is better." Trickle said Mark was using a grinder on the engine block and probably only removed 5 ounces. But Martin was determined to remove weight anywhere possible. One of my favorite Trickle stories :P
I’m from Wisconsin, saw Mark and Dick race 100’s of times , First time I saw Mark race was at Rockford when he was 18 , First time he came to Slinger , was epic , his crew chief Banjo Grim was spotting, he climbed on top of the caution lights coming into turn 3 to have a great view of the track , Dick was just amazing, ALWAYS last car to leave the pits after the races 🍻
Jack,Jose, Johnny Walker, and a pocket rocket.. The crew members of most teams though out the ages.. Ps people are still blowing head in Baker Ca. & The $100.oo gasket fix is still in play @A-1 amongst most lonely travelers on lost desert highways .. And i do agree.. the SOUND is an issue I know we want to see from the camera unobstructed but capturing the audio is top priority in these Historical recordings documenting our heroes of day's gone bye...
Hi DK. I haven't seen you since I used to go out with your brother Larry(Rex) and we were in High School Inland Christian School. He took me to see you Race in Ontario Speedway. Where is he? My family used to go to School with you at Pacific High School. My mom is Connie Nelson and my dad, Danny Reasons. Anyway. I'm watching your video on UA-cam right now. I been to your Mom and Dad's in San Bernardino. They were the Sweetest people. God Bless You DK. HAPPY TO SEE YOU. And I'm watching Skeet in SCREAM, right now. Every time I see him on TV, I always think of all of you. And NASCAR
@@pat36a Naaah- it's not a sound guy issue- the interviewer is has a loud laugh, so he keeps the mic close when speaking, but bellows out his laughter. I've known plenty of guys like that in my life.
YOu need to run your audio thru a mixer and adjust the levels to the sound of tone. On Shure mixers there is a switch that produces tone for you to adjust audio levels right below the red line. You show is painful to the ears please fix
A lot of people, myself included, point their fingers at today's woke NASCAR and talk about how corrupt they are... and then Rick and Steve remind us with interviews like this that the sport we (used to) love has always been dirty and selfish... seems like a lot of these old racers got the short end of the stick more often then not while people like Richard Petty were allowed to openly cheat and win all the races... Sorry if this hurts your feelings but it's true....
Love hearing stories from the independents. I always kept up with them.👍🏁

This has to be one of the Top 3 best interviews you've done so far. What a wild life D.K. has lived!
Thank you, sir.
These interviews are so interesting! As nascar becomes more bland these characters take me back to the good ol'days...
This is pure desire and singularvision. The possibilities of life in this country are staggering if you you are driven.

BAHAHAHAHAHA, ya, summed up with the Kirpatric foot stomp beside a wrecked car. Loose the pretty boys/gals.

The greatest racing interview ever
The way he made it was so awesome.
My father was like this accept he had a family .
Today his story is impossible.

DK is legendary, thank you for this and all these outstanding interviews
A-1 all night service is still alive and well in Baker, CA.
And THATS why I loved Speed TV, boring train out front, lets watch 14th through 20th for a while.
This was a great video series. I had to watch all of them tonight. DK is a OG for sure. Very enjoyable evening, thank you.
Humble Beginings Love the stories Wow
My God he whispers so I turn my volume right up only to die when you laugh!!!
I’m sorry. I’m taking steps to correct that problem, whether it’s a lapel mic or whatever. These interviews deserve the best production possible.
The content Rocks, thanks for the magic. @@TheSceneVault
Great show , Make your guest mike is turned up . I couldn't hardly hear DK .

Good job as always. I love these stories. Thank you!

😃great story boys and girls, GREAT JOB!
Bring back the DK's! Nascar has never been the same running just factory boys.
Excellent. Thanks.
Interviewer should move his mic about 2 feet from his mouth.
Talk to the sound guy .

Every show has the same audio problem
Why don’t you interview Tommy Irwin the oldest living NASCAR driver that lives in Winchester Virginia
audio was a-ok on my desktop PC :)

Wonder why they had to burn the cars for? Why not just crush them and be done with? Back then cars were mainly Metel anyways...
Fix your sound levels. DK is barely audible and your mic pegs the meter. Hurts the ears!!! -U10

My ear drums about split everytime he laughs.
Fine on my iPhone watching via UA-cam
