Absolutely love Mark Martin, one of the cleanest and fairest drivers on the track His car was always spotless without a dent or a wheel Mark, because he drove with passion never seen this man move anyone out of his way.
Got to see Mark win at my home track at Bristol, Night Race in 1998. Awesome race it was. It was a week or so after his father passed away. So glad that he won that night!
Wait a sec: The text in episode 1 with Tony Stewart was orange & white like Home Depot. The text here is blue & white like Valvoline or Viagra. Herm is matching colors to these drivers’ sponsors on purpose! Nice touch.
Great job again Herm. I think you may have found your calling Kenny. What I mean is only a racecar driver can do a interview with the greats like you do. Keep up this series please.
But I do remember one time many years ago and it was funny. Mark come over the radio and said. What you think Ford will say if I help a Chevrolet win this race. Evidently they were all up front and one of the other Ford drivers had pissed him off and the only other one was a Chevrolet. 😂
I pulled for Mark when I seen him race first Bush race. Quit watching racing when he retired. Will watch outlaws and all dirt racin. Liked you too Kenny. Thanks for the racing memories
Mark is one of the best, on and off the track! Will always be one of my favorites. So cool to hear him mention Wayne Brooks. Had the pleasure of competing with Wayne in the late 90's in modifieds around Texas and Louisiana. Wayne and a few others were running V6's and whipping everyone's butt.
Mark Martin is my favorite racer . As a kid I liked Bobby Allison and then Davy but had been a fan of Mark and after Davy I jumped on the Mark Martin race team .
God Bless you Kenny Wallace. Another stellar interview. I have concluded you are the only one that can pull off these insightful, entertaining interviews because of all that YOU have experienced in your life. Thanks to Mark Martin. He IS the man!!!!
I first saw Mark driving the Folgers car and I never followed another driver until he retired. Then it took me a few years to start following Kyle Larson. Kyle reminds me of Mark.
Sure miss the old days of racing were everyone had fun, I shut it down in 2001 when the bickering got to the point it wasn't fun anymore. Mark was one of my most favorite drivers, he didn't need to take a person out to win a race. Im not sure if Mark still goes up to Idaho during the summer but I'm hoping to meet up with him at the RV park someday. Thank you to all the old time racers that made the sport enjoyable to watch.
I always love watching both of you racing at Springfield fair grounds. There's time I wish I stayed with it. I had John Kindig mini stock. I understand getting old. My Birthday is May 23 in a couple of weeks. I'm will be 69 years old.
Mr. Humble...as I always called him. Mark Martin...always the gentleman racer who would give you the position without a fuss or fight regardless if it were the first lap or the last lap. As he put it, "If you caught me and was on my back bumper than you definitely had a quicker car." The SAME driver Joey Blo PURPOSELY wrecked to win a rain-shortened event, then wonders why people hate him so much to this day. The very SAME driver who answered honestly in a mid-race interview after wrecking out. Being asked, What happened?" Mark looked right into the camera and said, "Ran out of talent." I believe it was the race where his car veered off the track under YELLOW for no apparent reason. The same man who acted more like a child winning his FIRST NASCAR race out in Phoenix after beating the field in BOTH practice sessions; putting the #5 car on the pole and then SOUNDLY WHIPPING the WHOLE FIELD that night with Alan Gustafson as his crew chief!!! Yes...Mr.Humble who was a BETTER gentleman racer than "Gentleman" Ned ever THOUGHT of being!!!
Herman you and Mark two of the best I have been a nascar fan since the late 50s but the era of mark Martin was the best years That is only my opinion but the drivers that raced then were my heroes, Kenny this is your best work Thank you buddy
I have two favorite NASCAR drivers ever (okay three, you too Kenny, oh five, your Brothers too). Mark Martin and Lake Speed. What humble guys. Love their insights. Having watched this I like the guy even more.
I would almost would give my last leg to be able to watch Mark Martin, Rusty, Larry Phillips and many other racing drivers at The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds plus other venues as well.
What a great analogy about one step at a time that's exactly how people should live life and appreciate everyday..What a Conversation God Bless yall!!!!!
It's great seeing Mark Martin again ..... he is definitely one of the GOATs. I really miss the era you guys were talking about - respect on/off the track was through the roof. Those races were so cool to watch. I love these conversations - unfiltered, legit, and honest.
THANK YOU Mark for mentioning Larry Phillips multiple times during this podcast. I watched him race at I-70 Speedway. He was amazing ~ as are you! (Dick Trickle too).
I've had conversations with Mark Martin several times when I worked for NASCAR 1996-2006. as part of the security/safety teams at Daytona, Darlington, and Talladega NASCAR tracks. I always enjoyed every minute. I even took a close friend to one of his auto dealerships for her to buy a new car. Also a nice experience.
Another fun interview, love listening to these guys and good ole memories and learning little things about them we wouldn't know otherwise, thanks again Kenny, loved this one with Mark as well, keep em coming!
Mark is the man and will always be the man! Love you, man! I met him in the hospitality area at Michigan international in 1997 a day I will never forget
Kenny, Mark, Rusty, Larry, Ken Essary, Trickle, the story of my youth. Great memories. Any chance to get Billy Moyer, Bloomer, Schrader, Terry Gene on in the future? Nick Hoffman, Rumley. Love this channel! Great job Herm!
Mark Martin was my favorite driver from back to the Folgers car battling dale for championships. So when he was retiring I was bummed then he hooked up with Hendrick and one five races and another second in champion race. I got to see him win a race in Talladega. I had a buddy that went to the race and it got rained out. Well the poeple he was partying with at the track one of the guys was not going to be able to come back for the rainout. So he gives my buddy his ticket and I think it was the Monday got rained out to so the next weekend my buddy, his girl and I went and he didn't charge me for the ticket. Sitting down around turn fouri think it was the fastest race ever at Talladega and Martin won. I don't watch races as much as back then but awesome here about Martin again. I was huge Martin fan.
This was amazing . Life long Nascar fan. The 1997 Race was my first live race. I was standing in the old back stretch(no security was there) I could lean on the fence and see Mark in side the car ever time he came by. (It was a great race) Mark is a amazing man. Thank You Kenny for this. Keep up the interviews!!!

Kenny - like your new show! Love that you had Mark Martin on it ! I never was a huge NASCAR fan, but was a fan. Mark Martin was my favorite. I plan on visiting his museum this summer. I loved watching him in the old Busch series and IROC.
Mark is my age and i enjoyed watching him race in my favorite decade of racing, which is the 1980's . I can also relate to you guys, unfortunately, through pain ! I have had 3 knee surgeries, and 1 rotator cuff surgery. Best of luck to both of you guys !

Grew up watching Larry Phillips, Rusty Wallace and Mark race on Friday nights at the Fairgrounds Speedway with my dad. Some of the most cherished memories I've ever had. We would watch them race at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Mo back in the '70 and to this very day it's some of the best racing I've seen. We never missed a World Cup 400. I lost my dad in February and it's so nice to hear from the guys that made some many great memories for me.
Mark you're such a good race car driver and you should have won at least three championships of not more but just to see how much people like you you watch these Darlington paint schemes at least two or three would be Mark Martin paint schemes
I can remember in the early to mid 90s, walking down pit road looking at the cars and you could see how skewed the cars were, Then at slow or pit road/pace speed they damn near tracked in a forward sideways motion.
Mark Martin is my favorite nascar driver of all time.
Hell, he was still my favorite driver even when he drove the Chevrolet & Toyota
I didn't care what he was driving, my favorite driver for almost 20 years.
And here I am 30 years later appreciating what he has to say more than ever.
It's hard to argue with *6* IROC championships. The Intimidator is the only other driver with that stat!!! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆‼‼‼
Q@@toddbrown3606
That 6 car will always hold a special place in my heart,a true gentleman driver he was. Should of been a champion many times.
Absolutely love Mark Martin, one of the cleanest and fairest drivers on the track His car was always spotless without a dent or a wheel Mark, because he drove with passion never seen this man move anyone out of his way.

Thanks so much Kenny for talking with one of the best racer's and men of our time. This is priceless and awesome 🏁✌️😎
Mark is a legend! Always raced clean never saw him dump anyone in NASCAR.
Agreed. I'm not a Ford fan but I always had lots of respect for MM. The man's got loads of testicular fortitude
But I do remember one time many years ago and it was funny.
Mark come over the radio and said.
What you think Ford will say if I help a Chevrolet win this race.

Amen you earn respect. Both of you have beyond earned the respect people have for you. And if they don't they need to look inward.
I can remember in the early to mid 90s, walking down pit road looking at the cars and you could see how skewed the cars were, Then at slow or pit road/pace speed they damn near tracked in a forward sideways motion.
