- A day in Bangalore or Bengaluru checking out some pubs or bars in this very modern city of India. Over 1,000 places to have a drink in what is known as the pub capital of India. I bought a metro day ticket and visited a few that had good reviews or seemed to appeal to me. Come along and enjoy a wee wander in this now very modern City in the south of India.
Thank you for showing the modern side of India. I've noticed this trend on the internet where people deliberate show the bad sides of the country. You were very respectful and kind without exploiting or degrading the hospitality.
Thank you for the lovely comment. There is far more positive sides to India than negative hey. Even here in the UK we have a lot of negative things. The world is not perfect. We are only human and have to focus on the positives. I’m trying to be a better person than the one I was yesterday, each new day. ❤️🙏👍
Large parts of India are in fact chaotic, disorganised and dirty. What’s wrong in being honest about it? Less than 1% Indians can afford to go to a pub.

There is Bangalore Square in Minsk as well.

Nice video. Well, india is known as Under Construction country that's why you'll see always construction site everywhere, it's sign of great development and life coming sooner in the place. Good luck.
Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the video. Yes, India is growing into a very modern country hey. It’s a great country with so much to offer the world. 🙏👍

Thanks for the comment mate. Glad you enjoyed it. Where did you go in India? 👍
@penninewayne1967 I was based in Bangalore, didn't really get.much chance to travel apart from the local area which was a shame as it was hectic time and just for a relatively short period.

@@penninewayne1967R u still in Bangalore ?
@@manjunathmnm No, I’m back in the UK. I hope to come back in January next year.
You missed Pecos (pub). It was bang opposite Le Rock. Youngsters these days might not like it but it's a great place. It's easily 30+ years old. Definitely not the best in terms of ambience but the vibe is fantastic, food is great and plays some really good rock music. I am 41 and miss the Bangalore pubs of my 20s. Rock/Metal scene was huge back then and we had so many amazing pubs playing rock and metal. Sadly Le Rock and Pecos are the only left now.
Thanks for this brother. I’ll have to check out Pecos next time. Sounds like my kind of places. I don’t think the youngsters appreciate good music these days hey. I suppose we were youngsters once hey 🤔🤪

@@Whatreally123 sad! Purple Haze was filled with screaming metal fans \m/ ..been to blore a month back, mostly breweries, didn't have much time to explore, will go next year again to set aside some time to revisit all old pubs, if they exist anymore.
Haven’t booked a physical ticket from a reservation counter in decades. Used to join my grandad on his visits to the station to reserve tickets. He would bring a bunch of these forms home, which we would carefully fill before hand. The form still looks exactly the same. Very nostalgic!
Thanks for your comment and lovely story about you and your grandad. Nostalgia is so nice hey. Glad the forms brought back memories for you.

Do they still have cabaret clubs in India?
@@penninewayne1967 No they are all closed now.

Blue Fox, Blue Heaven, Blue Moon, The Bamboo Shack, 3 Acres, The Metro, Peacock, Love At Shilton, The Hive.... There were dozens of Cabaret joints and dance pubs. Also a special Disco Bar (forgot the name). Many people who are even local to Bangalore think that night life began AFTER the IT Boom. Infact it was much more chill in the 70s and 80s with the bell bottoms 😂 and church-skirts. 😅

Amazing vlog mate. A huge cheers from a Bangalore lover. I haven't been to Toit in a long time so it was a nice way to visit it virtually. Thank you so much for the nice comment and subscribing mate. Bangalore is such a vibrant and interesting place. And the people I met were lovely. Cheers 🙏👍🖖🍺
Could have booked the train ticket online I suppose
I’ll definitely do that next time. Cheers 🙏👍
You can book it online. There are literally many apps to book train tickets online. You should have checked some UA-cam videos about it.
They will tell you how to book tickets for foreigners. But be careful with the online payments. Most of the foreign debit/credit cards wont work here. India is gradually trying to up its RuPay card and UPI usage in India and get rid of Visa and MasterCard.
Recently, those companies cried to American government, too, but it is what it is when your technology is backwards with card payments. On top of it, they charge exorbitant prices for those outdated transactions.
Thank you for this information. I will do more research for next time. I did notice everyone was paying places that have a QR code displayed. I’m going to have to get better with technology. I’m old fashioned.
Thanks again 🙏👍
Hope you have the best time of your life! All the best! Do try all the Indian dishes. 🤗

India being 3rd largest economy means nothing as with almost same gdp britain has 67 million people and india has 1.4 billion people. India has to be at least above china in gdp to develop
I know what you mean. I hope the people of India are better off and have more opportunity now. India is such a lovely country and has so much to offer the world.
Thanks brother. 🙏👍
@@penninewayne1967It doesn't work that way my friend. India already has close to 100 million people who have western level of per capita, 1.5 million dollar millionaires and these numbers keep doubling every ten years. Also, the fact that it's a consumption lead economy gives it a lot of influence, especially in the developing world
These numbers are already larger than any European country except Germany and very close to Japan now. So if you just count the upper middle class in India, it's larger than any European country
To understand the scale of it, just to cater to this 300-400 million middle class, India already placed orders for over 1000 new jets, the largest order ever in History. That itself creates 1 million high paying jobs in the US alone. So imagine these numbers in just 10 years
They must have UPI
What is UPI?
@@penninewayne1967 UNIFIED PAYMENT INTERFACE. It's an Indian payment system. Because of that we don't use credit card or debit cards. We use our payment system. Almost all places or merchants have a QR code hanging or resting on the desk for payments. We're cashless society, almost. In some places they don't keep swipe machine as people don't pay with cards and in some places they keep card swiping machines such as hotels and restaurants because of people who can't use UPI like foreigners for example.
Unified payment interface, India's own payment system. You probably have noticed QR codes in shops. They're UPI. We don't use credit cards so shops don't cary swipe machines.
Hey man wassup, that broken down tuktuk shop guy handed me my first ciggerate during me college days, now i chow down two packs a day, i wish you had shoved your camera on his face , indians dont mind being on camera, PS: can you use better audio with noise cancellation closer to your throat so that we can understand what your saying.🍻🍺🍻
Hi there brother, thanks for your message. Yes I definitely need better audio hey. I’m going to get one of those fluffy microphones which hopefully will help. Two packs of cigarettes a day? 🤔😬 I used to smoke. You’ll quit one day. 👍 how long have you been smoking?
Find a good mike ,
I’m looking into getting one. Do you have any recommendations? 👍
Get out of our lands , this is not your colony

He's not here to colonize
St. Mark's is an Anglican cathedral
Yes, I went inside and found it very interesting. How many Anglican churches are there in Bangalore?
@@penninewayne1967 There are few, St. John's, All Saints, Holy Trinity.
St. Andrew's is Presbyterian
@@apurvnandy3077 I’ll have to visit them next time. Cheers 🙏👍
@@penninewayne1967 in fact, those churches look far better. Maybe architecture-wise, St. Mark's is the ugliest, for a cathedral. Cheerio!
In Mysore you will see the Wesleyan Chapel!
