    Highlights:
    - The change in octave during that mind-bending riff in the title track
    - the face meltingness of 'That which consumes all things'
    - the way David screams "SOOOOOORRRCCEERRYY" is one of the most metal things I've ever heard

John Barker I really love brett’s bass in this album. He really shines a lot.
I like how after the second chorus in Vanitas, during that bridge or whatever they’re still doing similar chords to the chorus, and Brett is just playing the same root note while dave and dan’s chords progress, I think that gives the song really good foundation

this is, imo, the best metal album to come out in a long time. there are times where the composition and chord selection reminds of the best moments of opeth or cynic, the attentiveness to melodic phrasing reminds of at the gates or in flames, the guitar leads remind of marty friedman's work on "rust in peace", and yet it still maintains that thrashing, pummeling old school death metal heaviness like morbid angel or obituary... a shining example of a new school band aggregating all of the best bits of the old school and applying them to create really great, memorable songs... much like what bands like gojira, mastodon, and lamb of god have done in their own way for the past 10-15 years

@New Keys i thought so too.. until I started listening the old records and realized something... David Davidson is in his 30's... and his music shows it... it has gotten much technical.. more crafter... and i realized we started hearign his new take on guitar since the e.p.. coincidence that thats when they started using the 7 strings.. because he changed his approach but not his style... and the self tittled was the beginning of their transitioning to what we are listening to today.... and theres a lot of trash on the self tittled, deathless, and great is our sin.... this album starts with "old school" revocation if you take the defition from its 2013 album......

Ash’s drumming on this whole album is fucking amazing and Dave’s guitar solos are absolutely monstrous no doubt ... Intricate work on the tones and a killer production .... 😎😎😎

Every other band blown out the water AGAIN!!! Real step up from EVERY member, songwriting's moving further away from verse-chorus-verse-chorus (yay) and pushing into some WACKY prog territory, SHREDS are absolute top class as usual, plus the sheer number of chords is insane :D

What a gem... So glad this was recommended. I clicked for the art, and couldn't click away after initial listen... Was expecting just pure brutality and slams (never listened to Revocation before - just what I expected), but am beyond pleased and impressed with this. The technical and jazz influenced riffs are just fan-fucking-tastic
