@@michaelmango9058 I'll always give an album a first listen online whether it be on UA-cam or elsewhere prior to making a decision. More often than not, I'll end up buying the album if I like it. This is the case for this band. Really digging this!!
I really love how clearly we can hear every instrument. Guitars are amazing, bass is INSANE, drums are kicking asses, vocals improved (sick growls and great clean \m/). The band also kept their unique sound and improved it by a lot IMO. These guys deserve an award for this masterpiece, i'm gonna listen the shit out of it for the rest of the year \m/.
I disagree on an instrumental version. I think they really stepped up their vocal game with the emphasis on multiphonics that you can hear plainly at the end of Exothermic Chemical Combustion and the beginning of Tsunami and Submergence (although I don't know who sang that part.) The lyrical themes are one of the best parts of this band with often genuinely unique and profound ideas and very little woo, which while difficult to make out, at least give them the Lovecraftian atmosphere of unknowable secrets buried in alien tongues that forces you to harken to decipher. And the growled vocals might just be out of necessity, whether economically or for the artistic/lyrical freedom it provides. It's well worth trying to go through and understand them, they will eventually grow on you.
