Seeeeee there, I KNEW there was a cheaper alternative to a damn big format printer! This is thrilling cause I hate taping too, and hoofing it to the print shop is not the mood either. You 👏🏻are 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 best
I was given this machine as a trade off for making my uncle a jacket. It's currently in the garage as I redo my sewing room and I can't wait to try it out. Thank you for this video, I learned a lot!!!!! 😊
Thank you so much for posting this video! This is a game-changer for us! I just got my 53" vinyl cutter for Christmas (I use 48" wide paper) and I can't wait to start digitally processing my patterns. I currently do all patterns by hand which takes half the time. Now that I have all my slopers digitized and vectorized I can keep up with SheIn, LOL. This is going to cut my workload in half!!! No need to hire a pattern maker now!
Mind blown! I can tell I’m about to go down a rabbit hole of research. I had no idea this could be so reasonably priced. I’ve been staying away from pdf patterns because of the taping. I was looking into a projector. Decisions, decisions!!
Hi thanks I’m looking to purchase this. Can you please do some more tutorials with random online patterns that you didn’t make yourself, to show how this can be done with any pattern, if it can be done?
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!! This is one of the GREATEST videos ever! I spend so much time (not to mention paper and tape), printing and cutting and then taping patterns together. I did not know that there was a relatively inexpensive machine (when you compare it to other machines that you may have and not use often) that could save me so much frustration, time and money! I so appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and where you bought your supplies from!💖
For filling lines use the engraving module under objects. Also make sure your cutter tool is set to pen tool. I dont remember if you did thst or not. Its done in cut options once you send to cutter.
Thank you I have this machine and it’s just sitting collecting dust . Didn’t know that it could do this. Just started sewing and one of my issues were not wanting to tape all that stuff together. Thank you again for your video
Hi!!! This machine reminds me of the printer we had in fashion designing school. The one in school was bigger and it was for the computer pattern making class. Thank you for sharing.😊 Robin N Otis -Clayborne
I have printed out my first garment pattern; but, I have not taped it together. I plan to make a copy of all the pages before I start taping. That way I should have a second chance (if I mess it up). I have been dreading this; but, it is time to get used to how it will be very soon. I am thinking of going to our local copy shop and asking them to watch your video. They may want to add one of these machines to their collection of copy machines. There may not be a demand for it in this area yet. Thank you for this video and wonderful news.
OMG!!! Thanks so much… I never thought imagined this- I never thought of a smaller scale plotter printer for us seamstresses!!! So this is a game changer for me- i absolutely hate giving my money to fedex to print my patterns.. this will fit perfectly in my sewing studio! I can print me and my students patterns just like that!!!!! I just ordered!! I’m glad you popped up in my UA-cam feed!!!! Love ya and all that you do!!!
This is so amazing. I wonder if this will work with other types of vinyl cutting machines as I do not have the budget for the one you demonstrated so very well. I shall have to investigate.
My mouth is hanging wide open because I buy storage lockers on the side to support my design business and I was offered the storage locker. All I have to pay is $20 in the storage locker. It had a heat press machine, a hat press machine so cricket products, not the cricket machine, but like a little small, iron, but it also had that cutting machine and I had no idea it could do that. I just felt like it was for vinyl and since I had sold off my cricket machine and my other machines before I left the country I felt like OK well I can just sell everything. I don’t need at this time, but if I knew that it did patterns I would’ve definitely kept it, but I’m glad that you found your life
This is a great price and amazing to see. 1) how do you rearrange the PDF’s meant for smaller paper? 2) can you make it cut out the pattern somehow by selecting an outline ?
So often, in my experience, these patterns either come together or it's an option when you're purchasing. Each of the patterns I've bought include the "print shop" version (large format for this blotter) and the A4/legal size patterns.
I am sure you can buy retractable pen refills in the bulk for cheap (and less waste). Also most of the pens unscrew from the top, so it is easy to access the refill from there.
I have to get this. I send my patterns to a plotter because I don’t like to tape anymore. I have a question, can I print the pattern then cut that pattern piece out. Now that would be very cool. My early Christmas gift to myself.
I thought about that too, but I was thinking you’d need some type of backing so the machine doesn’t get ruined. However, it cut clean through both layers of the vinyl with an issue 🤔
I think the best solution for tracing both lines would be tracing it as vector image. Some programs can do it automatically. But this would need installing new software. Inkscape is a good free option, but I do not know if it has the automatic option to change to vector. But if you repeat the same pattern it might be worth to even do it manually.
Can you Please, Please, Please show how to send a Big 4 pattern pattern into this software so, that it can be printed? I buy a ton of pdf patterns and would love this but don’t understand how to use the software for PDFs. Thanks
@@NIKKABLUE Is the pdf separated into a lot of small pages or do they offer the full pattern size as well? When I order patterns on Etsy some sellers offer an image or pdf that is the full sheet.
Yes they offer A0 on the majority of their patterns, some of the older ones they don’t but all the ones I have, have a full page in addition to the small broken up pages.
@@NIKKABLUE Perfect! You can use the AO page and follow the instructions in this video. That’s what I was using. I can’t remember if mine was a pdf though. I can check on Monday.
I noticed you are using a .jpg. Most files are .pdf. I cannot get the pdf files to open/cut/print. Do you have any suggestions? UPDATE: It's because A0 paper is 36" and this machine is only 30". You have to manipulate the A0 files to fit on the 30" paper. It's still better than taping all that stuff together!
Ok- after looking at my inventory of patterns that normally buy they are actually larger than 30” wide- so, I may have to return mine and upgrade to the 54” one… 😢

No more buying numerous patterns and spending hours cutting them out by hand!

@@BlueprintDIY I ordered it yesterday using your link! I can't wait for it to arrive!
Simply amazing, thank you for sharing. Now I want one and I don't have room 😂.
I hear ya! Maybe someday! 😉
I'm limited in space too. I plan to transition to projector files for patterns. The technology has improved recently.
That is so convenient and saves so much time on each project. Thank you so much for demonstrating how the machine works. Blessings always 😊❤
Yes, I couldn’t bring myself to ask poor Kachelle to tape 15 patterns together at 8 months pregnant 🤦🏾♀️ This saved us!
I'm blown away!! Now I have to find space for this LOL
Thanks so much for such a great tutorial! Now I can print my own pdf sewing patterns at home!!!!

I'm not too good at sewing yet, but I like to do vinyl cutouts for t-shirts. What you are doing though is a game changer. Awesome combination!
Thanks so much!

Do you think the machine would print on vilene interlining.....
Thank you for this ! Taping patterns is a pain
It really is!
This is so amazing. I wonder if this will work with other types of vinyl cutting machines as I do not have the budget for the one you demonstrated so very well. I shall have to investigate.
I’ve seen videos of people using pens in their vinyl cutters so I think it’s possible.

Some pdf patterns come in large format. I recently bought one on Etsy that came that way and I just imported the image into the program.

I know your paper is too big, but if you can find a mat, I have found I have less problems with paper bunching

Can this be done on any size plotter/printer/cutter? I would like to get a larger format as I do have a lot of PDF patterns.
They have bigger sizes, just make sure it says vinyl cutter/plotter.
Bruhhh 👀✨🔥‼️
not impt, but on the cheaper retractable pens, did those not twist to open at the bottom/ near the tip and under/just before the grip part began?
I tried twisting them and couldn’t get it to budge.
