So, did you say to use the clay mask once a month for 3 months? But the curl training series does it once a week for three weeks? I’m confused.

My hair had been feeling odd for months. I tried an ACV rinse and it was a little better, but still wasn't right, so I just put it in twists for a little over two weeks 'cause I was tired of dealing with it. I watched your video and you mentioned not putting oils in the mask (which I've been doing for years now 🤣) and I was gonna do a clay mask anyways, so I left out the oil and the appearance and feel of my hair was amazing! The difference was night and day! The problems I had with the weird feeling, the tangles, the roughness, my hair was DIRTY. And you know why it was dirty? My leave in was expired. I'd been using an expired leave in for months and didn't confirm until I got a new jar and saw the texture and color was different. It'd been so long since I saw fresh jar. 😭 Thanks for including that little tip about oils. It has literally changed my hair. 🤣

I just came by to say that this works!
Background: I have 4a/4b high porosity hair.
I never see my curls unless it’s wet or with gel. Soon as it drys my hair is nothing but frizz. Now I was a little skeptical about the prepoo lol, but my hair loved it! It made my hair so soft and moisturized. Soon as I washed the mask out I was able to see my curls immediately.
She’s also right in saying NOT to detangle after to keep the definition. I was so preoccupied with the process that I forgot that part. Even with my mistake-my curls are still more defined than they were before.
I can’t wait to try it again
    THANK YOU!

It's best to rinse in the shower standing up right. The hair stays in a downward state. Putting yr head upside down only makes more tangles and takes longer having to comb out all over again. I noticed rinsing standing up makes more sense.

Is there a reason why frizziness happens while detangling with deep conditioner vs styler?

    • @ChrissyGotTheCoils

I would guess it's because we're separating the curls to detangle then rinse with water vs. styling to clump the curls together & letting them dry.

  • @genesisc6281

I disagree with the part about not adding oil. I always add olive oil to my acv and bentonite mix because it gives it a creamier feel and application. (Minimizes grit when putting it on your hair.)
My hair is always ultra clumped and defined after rinsing the clay. (Type 3c/4a, some 4b) And my wash n gos are long lasting afterwards.
But I use my mix after shampooing. So maybe thats the difference.
Overall, I think the whether or not adding oil will be good for you depends on preference/how your hair behaves.
