- The Oboe Concerto's earliest version was written around 1715. Bach's transcript is based on the famous Oboe Concerto in D Minor by Allesandro Marcello. Bach's version intended for a solo piano, and showcases Bach's ability to transform a piece of music into something new.

The Bach version was not intended for solo piano as the description says.
