This was the first song I sent to the man I fell inlove with. He told me how he loved it and yet the song sounded so sad. Today I'm listening to it once more a little before his funeral. It's a semblance of our time together. Bittersweet.

@@loisabourdarias5970 If you prioritize the differences of men and women over the unification of man and woman, then you are predisposing yourself to dissatisfaction and ideological division between yourself and the other sex. My statements were not from a place of hate, but rather of truth. Not all men are worthy of reverence as not all women are worthy of affection because there are truths and virtues above mere existence. I am not concerned with the failings of character or the changing desires of other men and women which are hedonists/physicalists because they take themselves to the logical ends of their own world views. I care of my own and my family’s well-being in body and spirit. I recommend the same to any person.

I was immediately touched by this piece, and did some research on its history. It was dedicated to Emma Genton, governess to a family he often visited. She was infatuated with him and wrote him roughly 200 letters; he was friendly with her but didn’t share her affections. The mixed emotions are very palpable-love with a hint of sadness.

Whenever I listen to this, all I can picture is a beautifully haunting dance shared between two young people in love, who know their love is forbidden and so they only have this moment, on the dance floor, in a span of minutes, to imagine what could be between them. Once the dance is over, so is their love story, for this is the only moment they are allowed to even look at one another. As such, their dance becomes so much more than just a series of movements, it becomes like a silently expressed love story between the two of them.

Many comments on love whether it is a toxic relationship, unrequited love or the yearning for a now long dead spouse. Are we just projecting? Or is the music helping us find beauty in our suffering? Why do we have a common understanding of what this music means? I don't know but it's beautiful.

If you think about this, this music was created by a man who’s went through what he needed to create something as beautiful as this. It’s not us projecting as to what this music makes us feel, but it’s almost like we understand where he’s coming from. He’s human after all. He’s expressing how he feels, and as a collective, we understand him. It’s truly beautiful.

The moments where the piece becomes faster is like the imagination of dancing with their platonic love, free, corresponded. The main part of the rhythm sounds like the sadness of knowing that what they're thinking is just so forbidden, maniac and improbable. But still, you need to love the person or else your life becomes senseless.

It’s so interesting to read all people’s emotions, all have different feelings listening to this..personally I feel very sad each time.. even tho I wouldn’t call the vibe so tragic.. but there is definitely a lot of drama in it..and I feel it

I absolutely love this song. I love how it goes back and forth from sad to happy…Like part of it sounds like a tragic love story and the other part sounds like you’re skipping through a field of flowers…Such emotional range. Although all of his music had emotional range. He truly was a genius composer. Pleased to know I could recognize Tchaikovsky music and also 2. Not surprised at all that this beautiful yet emotional piece was his

I call Tchaikovsky creeper music. Because you'll listen you it and the feelings and drama of the song slowly creep as the music goes on until you find yourself wrapped up in it.

This describes life, the lows and the highs. I imagine people suffering through perilous times, while at the same moment in time people are happy and free to enjoy life and it's pleasures. I imagine a grieving widow thinking of her lost love, with occasional reminders of the happy times they shared. Only to be brought back to reality.
