This was the first song I sent to the man I fell inlove with. He told me how he loved it and yet the song sounded so sad. Today I'm listening to it once more a little before his funeral. It's a semblance of our time together. Bittersweet.
Sorry for your loss
I pray he finds rest and you find peace.
@@jundullah9869 Not every man is worth reverence, and we must continue on with our lives after the passing of a loved one. Leave your ideological blithering to your chat rooms. The grieving shouldn’t be bothered with your nonsense.
Charles Please take your nasty negativity elsewhere. There is no need to spread your misery to other people.
@@loisabourdarias5970 If you prioritize the differences of men and women over the unification of man and woman, then you are predisposing yourself to dissatisfaction and ideological division between yourself and the other sex. My statements were not from a place of hate, but rather of truth. Not all men are worthy of reverence as not all women are worthy of affection because there are truths and virtues above mere existence. I am not concerned with the failings of character or the changing desires of other men and women which are hedonists/physicalists because they take themselves to the logical ends of their own world views. I care of my own and my family’s well-being in body and spirit. I recommend the same to any person.
Most people say this sounds sad but I just find it so passionate, as if you were looking straight in the eye of your lover and, with the most serious look, telling them "I could give my life for you"
Yes for me too it's not the sadness that is the main focus but a very secure feeling of passion for someone and all that follows with it.
@@AleksAvramJeff I know right gskdh I'm happy someone shares the same vision as me 🤝🤝
Its dramatically and passionately sad.
Passion always have something desperate and sad don't you think?
@@pierre-gu4rj Ohh that's interesting, but I think you can just be genuinely happy and passionate about something. Like when you think about how much you love someone (it can be a lover but also your mother or a sibling or even a friend :)) and sometimes the feelings happen to be so powerful that it makes you cry, but you're not sad, it's something inbetween sadness or joy, just pure devotion and worshipfulness
Makes me imagine a young couple and a very tumultuous relationship composed of peaks of happiness and vales of sadness. Two hearts that don’t quite know how to love.

I was immediately touched by this piece, and did some research on its history. It was dedicated to Emma Genton, governess to a family he often visited. She was infatuated with him and wrote him roughly 200 letters; he was friendly with her but didn’t share her affections. The mixed emotions are very palpable-love with a hint of sadness.
Tchaikovsky was also gay lol

Whenever I listen to this, all I can picture is a beautifully haunting dance shared between two young people in love, who know their love is forbidden and so they only have this moment, on the dance floor, in a span of minutes, to imagine what could be between them. Once the dance is over, so is their love story, for this is the only moment they are allowed to even look at one another. As such, their dance becomes so much more than just a series of movements, it becomes like a silently expressed love story between the two of them.

Many comments on love whether it is a toxic relationship, unrequited love or the yearning for a now long dead spouse. Are we just projecting? Or is the music helping us find beauty in our suffering? Why do we have a common understanding of what this music means? I don't know but it's beautiful.
I am rly amazed about how music can give us these feelings. Like it understands us or... idk?? Music fits so well with my feelings
If you think about this, this music was created by a man who’s went through what he needed to create something as beautiful as this. It’s not us projecting as to what this music makes us feel, but it’s almost like we understand where he’s coming from. He’s human after all. He’s expressing how he feels, and as a collective, we understand him. It’s truly beautiful.
@@kitt4y You're right.
It's probably partially inspired by the "sentimentale" of the title, and reinforced by reading other people's comments LOL

That's because it is, music is the language of the heart.
You ever just listen to this reminiscing about life and the paths you could or should have taken before realising how much time you have truly wasted on meaningless things
This makes me imagine a soldier dancing the last dance with his ladylove before going to the warfront. After a period of time, his body returns home and the lady reminisces this moment.
It just has that somber and mysterious tone that only Russian composers can master. Truly wonderful.
Whenever I hear it all I can imagine is a young lady standing in some empty, red coloured French alley, rain is pouring on her and she is watching a person she loves to death holding hands with another. She smiles, but her eyes sparkle with helplesness, knowing she lost them forever.
Beautiful.
These are not sounds, this is not a composition. These are the voices of the soul in a heavenly expression of their desirs and regrets. All in all, a masterpice.
