Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.
Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.
According to Poke AK, Fleece managed to get his account back recently and managed to get his deleted pokemon back
Yep, that is what the video is mentioning as well
Silver lining - he gets to start over and experience the game again1
You are a hero for clarifying that for me kind person. I recognize the video apparently will mention that, but it’s been bugging me for days
"Niantic, if you're listening"...
Niantic: "Nope"
Fleece had the ultimate proof, a video of someone else purposefully and maliciously recording themselves hacking the account and deleting Pokémon. And publishing it on giant platform like twitter.
It can’t compare to all the ppl just emailing support saying someone hacked their account and having no further evidence. Or just saying your kid accidentally transferred a Pokémon.
It makes sense that a big player like fleece and the attention the news got, that he got everything back, but it also makes sense that it’s not necessarily fair too. An average Joe player would have a difficult time getting an account recovered from Niantic.
On the bright side, at least we all learned that Niantic has the ability to restore players accounts. I knew from the very beginning. It wasn't a matter of they can't. It's a matter of they choose not to.
I completely agree. Would have been a social media nightmare if niantic didn't give fleeceking his account back. Another player, Jessabuu had her and her brother's account hacked 1.5 years ago. She had all the evidence but niantic didn't help because the hacker changed her account names. Then she bought them from the hacker for $800, only to be hacked again by the same guy. The hacker told her not to change the name and she believed it. Wouldn't have happened if she was fleeceking or if niantic would have been more helpful.
Getting his account back is fine. Getting his POKEMON BACK as well... Not a good look for Niantic at ALL. I completely agree. This sets a BAD precedent moving forward.
What about everyone else in a similar situation.. Niantic restored Pokémon for one major influencer, but what about the masses that just get the auto response or no help at all. I feel if it was another random player the pokemon transferred would NOT have been restored and would have been told there’s nothing Niantic can do. You may get your account back but Niantic will give you the run around and tell you to play more to get your pokemon back.
I’m glad you covered this topic not many have outside of Reddit and twitter. Thank god he got his account back and his Shundo Mareep.
I wonder if the same happens to regular people
Dope vid Count, and Count that’s exactly what Warlord did to fleece, he took fleece kings screenshots and went to Niantic help, Warlord revealed the flaws in niantic’s authentication system #ProtectUsNiantic
You should be able to undo a transfer for 30 days with a stardust cost
Kudos for standing up for the average player. You’re absolutely right that everyone deserves the same treatment. I was surprised to hear FleeceKing got his deleted Pokémon back (must have taken some serious work), because I know people who have had their accounts hacked and could not get them back, let alone the Pokémon.
That’s why you shouldn’t dump money into this game. In a second it could all be gone.
Yeah but that's the case with everything. Even things you "own"
@@alecvelez1370 Things you own can’t be seized from you as easily as digital ownership can. A hacker can come in and take everything you digitally own, especially when the game you bought the things from doesn’t care that someone stole from you.
@@alecvelez1370exactly
Niantic support is notoriously bad, I mean really bad, you can barely get any response and when they do it's never satisfactory.
Having an authenticator for your account would be a good way for Niantic to step up their security. Social engineering is one of the most common ways to get into somebody's account. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if that's how Fleece got his account hacked
If somehow has millions of subscribers and a decent influence on the community they will always have priority over the average Joe.
Exactly. Like the American basketball player that was arrested for bringing illegal substances to Russia. The US swapped for an arms dealer to get her back. If an average person were in a foreign jail for breaking local laws the government isn’t going to help them. That’s how the world works.
Welcome to the real world where the money, power, connections tells your value in it.
Where does it say he is the n1 pogo player? Surely that is some self proclaimed title
I've heard Brandon Tan was #1. But idk. What's the metric to determine #1?
@@mikecarlson3575normally XP, stardust, the amount of Level 50 Hundos, Shundos etc. determine that and Brandon and Fleece are not that far apart in terms of their stats and collections . They have both been considered be the no. 1 at different stages.
He was the first that hit level 50(Fleece)
Fleece claim himself as first person reach level 50, cause the timezone,,Sydney is 3 or 4 hours ahead from Singapore so that's make sense,, I love both fleece and Brandon..I saw fleece quiet often cause I live in Sydney too and the end of March, Brandon will visit Sydney...they both will meet up at some point
Yea i dont fault Fleece for gettin this treatment but its like you said, everyone should be able to get this kinda treatment. I do understand tho, he one of their biggest marketing tools
So much respect about you not caring for sponsorship and being able to be free and open minded about your videos
No matter if restoring accounts will create havoc, the community (us as the players) need a safe net in order to restrain the access of hackers. Niantic should be fully invested in profile protection at the moment
At least people have stopped saying Brandon Tan is the #1 player.
Brandon Tan came to my local raid group and treated all the players terribly. He makes so much money off of the game but I hope he stops playing soon.
I appreciate that you explained the implications of the hacking incident. FleeceKing had sort of an advantage because of his publicity and influence. Many players just do not understand how much the game means to him. It is almost like his full time job. This whole incident really exposes the limitations of Niantic Support. Niantic was pressured into putting extra effort Into getting FleeceKing's account back to him. The fact that he was able to get his account back, including his prized Pokemon, may have made some average players upset because they also had various problems with their accounts that never got resolved. Niantic's reputation is already being questioned by many players, and this incident just makes things worse for Niantic.
Pretty much, the precedence set is. If someone steals your account, proceeds to delete your Mon and posts it on social media. Then you’ve got a chance of getting it back.
sound like a pokemon movie with twist and turn.
average player will not get their deleted pokemon back
Niantic wouldnt have given me or you anything back. Fleece is just one of their babies
FleeceKing had the ultimate evidence of someone bragging about taking over his account and specifically deleting his rarest and cherished mons, since the dude wanted to rub this activity in Fleece's face.
Fleeceking had video proof that his account was hacked and what actually occurred. Including the culprit admitting to it. Most people that have their account hacked/stolen don’t have any such proof. It could have been they mistakenly transferred something and want it back, their friend grabbed their phone and traded something, they were trying to buy cheap coins/pokemon on eBay or any number of other things which wouldn’t either be feasible or even warrant action by Niantic.
It’s very troubling that the person may have used Niantic support to gain access to his account. That being said most players don’t have their account details so public which would make it very unlikely. If the hacker gained access via Google, Apple or Facebook login that means one of those accounts were hacked which has nothing to do with Niantic. PTC login seems to be the least secure but that’s also not Niantic. The only method that would be in Niantic’s court would be if it were via deceiving support.
I accidentally transferred my shiny 3* costume butterfree I would like it back niantic
I have 4 i give you 1😉
@@Django84The stats change when you trade
@@Zeus-sv6wi i know but he have his butterfree back.and it was a joke
He knew personal info about Fleece and Fleece placed a massive target on his own back. I think both those points are notable with the story. It’s not like some massive hack went out like PlayStation back in 2010
So Fleece deserved it? This sounds a lot like victim blaming. He did not deserve this, nor does anyone.
@@vitric9532 apparently you can’t fuckin read
Way to blame the victim. Good job.
Do we know how he did it? Did the wailord guy have some connection to fleeseking? A lot of UA-camrs let people on their “team” log into their account. They also have spoofers send them raid invites. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had some sort of interaction before all this that went sour and then he did this as revenge
Victim blaming, nice one!
Niantic support is terrible. One time in 2019 when I lost a raid pass, I emailed them to get it back. They responded to me in German...my friend who was studying German at the time said the email basically said "this is a known glitch, avoid this glitch" 🤦🏻♀️😒
Top pogo players are those who make leaderboard every season. Grinding everyday doesn’t make you #1 player.
Well … considering Niantic can do this for a shill that is a golden boy for them. It opens up a can of worms. You think they’ll do the same for the rest of us? Right.
Id really like to know what repercussions were placed on the hacker. I'd hope they were banned at a minimum. Why they have any online presence is unspeakable.
To think you can use social media to brag about illegal activity is insane. Kick them offline already
They were already banned for spoofing prior to this occurrence.
@@lemonz1769 so how can they access the help line from a banned account?
@@chaosdragun1608Oh my sweet summer child
Those bozos who got their UA-cam hacked was because they stupidly clicked on a link. Having 2-factor authentication didn't help.
With all do respect, i disagree. In a perfect world ur correct but in the real world some people for what ever reason (fame, looks, wealth, w/e) are treated better. Thats just how the world works.
they should use a pin system like most other games use to prevent this from happening.
There’s has been many normal ppl that have said they got there Pokémon back after being hacked on twitter but I do agree Niantics image is up to them to clear
That’s gotta be one of the biggest showcases of “player hating” bruh wtf
I cant even get a raid pass back from niantic help yes they’ll do this 😂
This is straight up Niantic’s fault, they need to either roll his account back or reimburse him for the pokecoins
If Niantic doesn't help the normal average Joe get their account back and their missing mons after getting hacked, I will never spend another dime in this game ever again. Blatant favoritism is not cool.
I dont think he should of gotten his pokemons back, hear me out here. All the other people that got hacking playing pokemon go they did not get them back, but fleeceking got them back this is very unfair.
niantic support is just a bot
Yeah I was one of the people that my account but somehow deleted not by my own doing and I tried to retrieve back and they told me that the data was gone that I can't retrieve it again which is an absolutely lie because you got all of his data back in his account but yet I can't get mine back even after the 3000 plus dollars that I've spent on that account
Somehow deleted?🧐
FleeceKing played the kyogre raid day with bt91
I noticed the ‘no algorithm’ shirts in your store. Made me think that someone should do a funny skit where there’s two distinct groups of people arguing with each other about the algorithm, but they’re talking about it like it’s a religion and the people who don’t believe in the algorithm are mocking the ‘believers’ of it and the algorithm believers are warning the nonbelievers that they’ll go to the distortion world with Giratina, darkrai and Cyrus from platinum when they die 😂 someone please make this happen lol🙏
I mean with all respect, it’s really you and the other popular content creators are the ones at risk. Yes it could possibly happen to us but there’s almost zero chance to because we aren’t targets and there’s no motive. Bottom line. I wouldn’t be worried about this unless I was a content creator. It’s horrible that you guys are targets for this MegaTroll because you guys are only trying to help us all play this game. Wailord must be stopped.
Also I wouldn’t believe a thing wailord says. He didn’t “hack” anything. Also, there’s no guarantee it’s actually even a guy. What if it’s a woman? What if it’s someone at niantic who has more access to things from behind the scenes? So much unknown here.
I really enjoy and benefit from your videos buddy. Thank you for staying brave! It surely takes balls to post about this and I haven’t seen trainer tips or mystic touching this with a ten foot ekans 😂
Was he at least able to get his account back?
Long ago I had a buddy that got his act hacked lost a lot of Pokémon and was tolled once transferred there was no why of getting them back
8:28 8:29
Really enjoy your videos, but switching up the music would be nice.
Bros the internet explorer
Not intended to be rude here, but when “rich” people flaunt their “riches”, something like this is bound to happen.
Sounds like the hacker broke a lot of rules of the game and committed multiple crimes, niantic tracking him down and suing him should set a good example
Fleece's account did NOT get hacked, it was STOLEN...
What do you think most hacks are? It's not people sitting there digging into code.
@@Theparadoxd7Agreed 🤝
Niantic has allowed cheating from the beginning all spoofers should be permanently removed fast catching should be banned all forms of cheating removed immediately as there discovered Niantic has never protected the honest layers in the game Also the game should be fair to all communities Niantic has favored southern players from the beginning they have more opportunities than northern players to do raids and catch pokemon nerfing raids and incense only hurt northern players and there discords and communities we can’t do difficult raids up here without remotes I can stand by gyms all day and there’s no body around to raid with unless I get remote help people drive and play only this is cheating too Niantic needs to take there board of directors and fire them all Niantic is a corrupt company of fools who have damaged the game over and over with bad decisions
You just used that to bash niantic… nothing happend till now, just your stupid predictions
He go his account back
Only thing Fleece should learn from this is that he doesn't really have any real friends, only clout chasers. No one heard from Zoey, Nick, Brandon, or any of those fake Pokémon streamers. They didn't even bother making videos supporting him lmao!! They just used his name for clout and threw him away.
When something horrible happens to someone, their real friends call or message them to make sure they're okay. Real friends shouldn't make videos or post on Twitter or Instagram.
@@rim_on7362 Lmao, I guess I spoke too soon, Mystic7 just made a video on Fleece so I guess your logic means he ain't a real friend. 💀
Old news
He’s not top. He’s under all free to play trainers. He bought his account. I am the #1 F2P trainer in the world. Grind and skill only. No Pokemon was bought. No auto catchers. No cheating.
Spoofing? I used to spoof my phone number

I never had any problems using PG Sharp back when I played.

He already got it back.
Which isn’t going to happen for anyone outside of players who advertise their game. Dude cheats at the game anyway.
How does he cheat at the game? Genuine question
6:59 how is Fleeceking one of Niantic sponsored players? Are you referring to the 1 time he was flown with ZoeTwoDots for the "new features" after the remote raid pass roll back? Supporters help to pay for his flights and pogo activities just like Brandon Tan, support for merch etc.
