- I actually wanted to make a positive video giving Niantic praise for Max Battles. It is actually really well designed gameplay for Pokémon GO. However, I can't help but talk about something so egregious, it could be the death of this game.

That's literally the only problem with it imo, if they just added a confirmation button for spending the 200 coins nobody would be complaining.
They don’t have a confirmation button for anything regarding using your pokecoins in the shop either. That’s the real problem! Also Count Jinsula is missing that you double your xp if you use your pokecoins buts it’s more expensive than buying a lucky egg.
I don’t see the problem. If you accidentally click on it, you still have to click a second time to confirm. How is anyone “accidentally” clicking it twice. Pay attention it’s not that hard.

Because they did worse things with regards to remote raids, and made it even more predatory under the guise of putting in limits.

That extra reward button after the raid should absolute go. Almost spent the coins on the rewards completely on accident because I was on the move after completing the raid rather than standing around. The fact that the reward button right above the button to continue towards the actual catch screen really leans towards what you were saying, that this addition was intentional and real predatory. Dynamax battles can be fun and had fun soloing the Kanto starters yesterday, but Niantic is being way too money hungry with that extra rewards button. The game is heavily monetized already with raid passes, not to mention the remote raid nerf from a couple of years ago, plus the fact that you have to buy inventory space for pokemon and items. This company is so desperate for cash.
Buying 800 MP for 150 coins is cheaper than the 200 coins to double the rewards and lets you do 3 more tier 1 max battles.
Although the double rewards could definitely stack up on higher tier bosses,
@@manime3079 I guess we'll see. I'm guessing 800 MP will still buy you 1 tier 5. We now know it will buy 2 tier 3s. And 150 coins for a 2nd one still beats 200 for doubling rewards.

In spite of already being aware of how Niantic has increasingly been focusing on milking money out of players whilst simultaneously letting the game go downhill in many respects, and in spite of expecting that the debut of Dynamax Pokémon would include monetised elements, I was STILL surprised and disgusted when I saw this button for the first time.
It feels like Dynamax is going to be minimally free to play, but largely pay to play unfortunately. You can only collect 1,000 MP a day BUT Niantic will let you buy extra MP from the store if you want to use more for Dynamax battles. Super lame in my opinion, and the Bonus Button is just over the top.

1000 MP only allows you to do
1 upgrade of the lower level o dynamax moves + 1 max battle, lefting 150 MP for the player;
1 upgrade of the higher level of dynamax moves, lefting 200 MP for the player;
4 max battles and none MP lefting for the player, but this does not help a lot to develop in this game mode.
And you can't accumulate those MPs, if you want harvest more in the next day, you have to spend the ones you have. Raid passes you can at least save for 3 days...
And today we have raids hour with BUG RAIDS grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr what infuriating

I think the whole DynaMax thing is just a way to force the need for more storage since you have to use the new ‘Mons for all the features. I honestly don’t really see the point of doing the battles because it is really just raiding with extra steps.
When i saw this, i immediately realized they were baiting people to click it by mistake so i just spent my remaining gold in storage just in case (Since storage is never a waste). Gotta be careful.

for 1-3🌟 Max raids it's a scam, but for 4+🌟 Max raids it depends how good rewards are unless they increase it for tougher raids
Agree 1000%, this addition is gross. What a disgusting way to monetize in the game that is totally unnecessary and doesn’t even make sense.

Why is it 200 coins now? I thought I saw 100 coins earlier this week? Either way, I'm never pressing that button.
Shoot, lower it to 50 coins and I might buy it. You get additional rare candies and it doubles xp. Some people don’t have all day to play. You could just pop a lucky egg, purchase a 50 coin upgrade and call it a day. Then it essentially cost you nothing but throwing a Pokémon in a gym. 200 coins is absolutely egregious lol.
One of my favorite things about max battles are the fact that the rewards are really good but it costs nothing to participate. No money. Awesome design.

Remember how Niantic just changed the terms of service stating there will be no refunds. So let's say you do actually hit the button you now know Niantic will not be refunding your money.
I don't know about anyone else but there are times my phone is in my pocket and locked and yet buttons are still pressed on the screen even though it takes a code or my fingerprint to unlock the phone

dude you still don’t know, that the new TOS only added one new point?! - the cheating aspect with the allowance to check your device. everything else has been in the TOS for YEARS. count just did bad research and said everything was new and literally started a fkfest with all the poketubers who jumped on the wrong train - coz nobody is doing proper research anymore.

The pay should have just made it like 10 or 20pokecoins and a small button in the corner after you have seen the Pokémon so if you have a gunfight or smt you can send them then.
Yet my theory proven correct: Niantic botched another event. I started out with a non bias standing but more I dove into the more I realized how terrible it is.
This doesn't bother me nearly as much as the fact that the 15 euro coupon for Pokemon Go was recently removed from the Play Store. That's going to make the game a lot more expensive for me over time.

So instead of giving us an ACTUALLY decent game that people feel is WORTH putting more time and money into to monetize their game, they are gonna resort to more shitty updates that just break the game, and using predatory practices to try get as much money as possible. It’s sad
Unfortunate the way the original games did the d-max vs g-max, the way to get g-max was by doing only g-max raids or using the mushrooms to turn d-max into g-max so it's very likely going to go same way in Pogo but with how Niantic went first first with d-max instead of g-max will likely ruin the experience.
Honestly think they should have allowed us to use non-dynamax pokemon against lower tier or d-max pokemon. Plus farm up mushrooms to have ready to turn anything into g-max when it's g-max is released as a good balance of savings g-max for later but allow any pokemon to use immediately and turn any d-max or non-dynamax pokemon into the g-max.
This would help us feel like our older pokemon from wild, raids, rockets, etc aren't useless.
Niantic: oh let’s virtue signal and get our players all together kumbaya style and get them exercising while we steal all of their money. 🙄
They could’ve added a predatory feature if they had a good reputation. As it stands they already have bad relations to their community.
There is definitely a very limited amount of instances where that 200 coin extra thing is actually worth it, yesterday I did a max battle and got 1 rare candy and 1 rare candy XL so getting another rare candy and another rare candy xl for 200 coins is definitely worth it but I didn't have the 200 coins
lol the first time I did a max battle with my son I told him you gotta be careful after we beat the Pokemon. Then I showed him and he was like why would they put it there.
I could see that bundle being an option during the encounter. Or if you really want to catch the ‘mon after burning through your premier balls.

While yes, the price of the bonuses are stupid, the button is relatively easy to miss. I’m not quite understanding how many people accidentally press it when it’s well above the continue button. Phone screens aren’t that small, you’re already staring at your phone anyway, it shouldn’t be that hard to stop and read first.
Is there a confirmation button? I almost clicked by mistake too. It's even a bit worse, because the "exchange 200" button appears first and with a little delay the "Go to bonus challenge" button. You can see it also in this video.

I love this new dynamax feature and it’s cool but their are so many problems with it. There is a glitch with it like everything in this game , I could only do 5 maybe 6 of them per day, and the extra poke coins button when I came across I was not very happy about and went to the bonus challenge instead and just captured the dynamax Pokemon as well. Also it’s easy to catch which I like as well. They really should get rid of the button. The 5 or 6 is without paying for max particles. Thanks for this video count

I would say 2nd worst thing they ever did!!. Hands down the worst title goes for Remote raid pass nerf. That ruined our Pokemon GO community.

this is real scummy. having a button to double the rewards for pokecoins most games that have this dont do this they use ads. holy moly this is predatory and scummy. I think this also means they might not be making as much money as they used to and are desperate to claw back as much money as they can.
I knew Niantic was a scam when they double charged us for raids. I think more players will uninstall because of this new feature that is a scam as well.
I would really prefer spending pokecoins/money to have more special research offering interesting rewards (like candy XL) as they are currently the thing I appreciate the most. Having a goal to achieve sometimes really hard, sometimes really easy but it give the impression of a progression towards something instead of constant grinding.

I’m honestly planning on never spending money in this feature. I already spend enough money in remote raids. My plan with this is to just get 3rd tier Pokémon that I can use in the battles but other than that, I won’t be doing many battles unless there are always new Pokémon being featured in them.
Once they start dropping xl rare candy ppl will start hitting that button mark my words
I’m honestly not a fan of how they handled Dynamax at all in this game. I was hyped for it the past several years and was Lucky Trading Shinys just to Gigantimax for it, not being able to use them and this whole constant cash grabbing is making it hard to keep interested in the game.

The way it appears before the claim rewards button, the position, which is almost exactly where you would normally tap to proceed to the next screen, and the freaking colour of it!!
It's green, just like the encounter button that you want to tap.
They might as well get sued for that, because it seems awfully like a dark pattern to me.
the only time I'd consider pressing it is if I needed 40k xp to level up before doing one and I already had a lucky egg on

I like it. Kinda hope they bring it to raids. I’m trying to evolve a Larvesta, so any chance I can get to pick up an extra Rare Candy and save myself some walking is totally worth it. Or I could just, ya know, NOT PRESS IT!
you are part of the problem. a complacent user base is why stuff like this is in the game. maybe it would be better if it cost stardust or very few pokecoins but 200 coins for and extra gold razz berry and maybe an extra rare candy is horrible

I was about to say the same thing, they could've replaced spending coins with stardust for 2x rewards, and the amount of stardust spent for it depends of how good the rewards are, its so bad and greedy for 1-2 star max raids of worthing 200 🪙 but for 4+ star max raid I see a possibility

The additional rewards could have better placement on screen, for sure. However, if you click that button it asks you to confirm.
They spent money on a consultant to tell them to monazite FOMO on ~"raid" rewards, but local only raiding is perfect as is (... and PvP, and wild spawns, and eggs, etc).
PGo is Pokémon on the map, it isn't this hard to make money with it. Niantic needs to just go design their AR crap and let a game company design PGo; I want to roll that dice on what would be worse and what would be "just different".

Honestly, while i agree with all the talking points, once we get gigantimax and more rare pokemon, i think ill be greatful for the button, because as someone who has run out of balls and missing out on ultra beasts, xerneas', necrozmas, and more recently kyogre, every single time i find myself wishing i could buy more Premier balls, right now it may not be worth but in the futre it might be, plus i plan on being f2p for the dynamax so i personally wouldnt mind 200 tokens just to have more chances with more balls

It could be worth it in the future 4*/5* max battles. And you get the mythical 12 rare candys and 3xl rare candys. Multiplying that by 2 would be outstanding.

My iussue is the time it takes to Dynamax. I have to work and there was one there yesterday. Took some time just sitting there before it finally dynamaxed.mon could get knocked out in the future during higher raids

If they want money allow remote raids. I’m old and the weather can be dangerous for me wet and icy plus with our winter dark and is dangerous. I’m willing to spend a little money but no they don’t want that. There is no rhyme or reason to what they call local so frustrating. And that lag…..still waiting.

Y a predatory tactic. The button is on the bottom of the screen where we are used to resting and clicking during game. In effect, it, it is how those virus pop ups appear on pcs. The cost is 100% a ripoff. If it was 20 Poké coins it would be more enticing for doubling rare candies. 200 Poké coins is just wrong.
Question about boses, the boxes sold by niantoc that say x30 hatchery, x30 is 30 uses? The price doesn’t make sense to me. Why wouldn’t I just buy single x3 hatchery for cheaper?

The doubling rewards might not be bad, there is still hope!
It may look bad now because we are only killing weak raids, but im sure as the dynamax gyms get stronger, the reward increases substantially! we are getting 10k xp per dynamax raid now, imagine beating a legendary! it will prob be 100k+ xp and im sure thats worth 200 pokecoins to some ppl. obviously they will have better rewards too (maybe even elite charged tm chance?) so doubling those may be worth it.
With dynamax Pokémon I hope we get use them in further for other things like raid battles or gigantamax battles but it’s just another system….but then there’s fomo where if you don’t do these battles you miss out on potentially might be used in future.
Let's call it what it is... a N*ked Cash Grab. I was SHOCKED that the button was there the first time I saw it, and I said to my Wife, I'm never going to do this... then clicked on the move forward and not spend 200 Pokecoins for doubling a Revive and something else equally not worth it and the 10 balls. I just have to remember to slow down during the post-raid screens... force of habit to click through quickly on the regular raids, and I bet that's what Niantic is hoping for.
I haven't seen an unsafe one in my city yet. Most powerspots here are businesses and home business, do people shop and live at the ones around you?

Haha I’m always giving rebuttals, but I enjoy Counts opinion. However, never have I ever seen a new player want to spend money. They are extremely reluctant to even do raids. And also, it’s obvious larger max battles will have better rewards. Hitting 7 rare candies and being able to double it, some players will want that. Vote with your money. If nobody does spends money on it, it speaks more than complaining. Lastly at some point, free to play players and budget players will have to realize that the hardcore pay to play (I also spend a lot) are carrying the game. Budget players don’t keep the game alive. So just ignore it. Pokemon go is never going to build a game for a community of super cheap players only. So speak with your pocket and don’t pay if you don’t like it. In reality we should hope for better deals, but is something is a bit outrageous, just ignore it, maybe some radical players will spend a lot of money, and the game keeps going.
was so excited for Dynamax... but just like elite raids, legendary shadow raids, routes and party play, I am almost completely excluded from the content as a solo rural player. I was excited to get into this season of GO battle league but this new feature has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I've gone back to not opening the app as much.
Seems like this feature will put extra pressure in people once higher level raids start popping up and people get more concerned about losing the pokemon
I have not spent money on pokemon go in years and I still play and have plenty of fun. I just refuse to give money to them.
I don’t have a problem with Max raids I have a problem with implicating it to the rest of Pokémon GO especially with Pokémon that you already have that you should be able to Max and not only that the monetization game is getting very predatory. And I’m also waiting for the day where they’re gonna start selling Stardust in the store since they’re selling Max particles in the store already.
