"Dynamic range" is also a legit audio terminology, used to describe how well a pair of headphones or speakers are able to produce and retain the quality and quantity of the loudest and quietest sounds.
I've already got the open-backed DT 900 Pro X for mixing/mastering, but I'm looking for something closed-back & cheaper like the AKG K371 or these Rode NTH 100 for monitoring vocals as I speak/sing, and also as I record sound samples/field recordings with my Tascam recorder. So I don't need the _best_ quality headphones for that stuff, but I'd still like them to be as neutral as possible for this general price-range. Which would you pick?
I haven't used those specific AKG headphones so I'll speak generally...these are probably the most comfortable and well built headphones around and so far they are right on par or better with anything I've tried around this price range
Good sound and bad quality. I had them for about 2 months and they broke at the same day on both sides. The plastic rings that hold the phones together on each side just snapped. I did not return them cause I use epoxy to fix them, but you cannot adjust them anymore. Rode really have to look at that issue.
Hi there. I have my guitar plugged into an amp and now I need a headset to plug in so that I can practice silently. What headset do you recommend? Thank you
So this would absolutely work for that and is super comfortable for long sessions. But you don't NEED a more flat response for that so you can take a look at more normal headphones instead of studio monitors if you want
I sent mine back. These are veiled and duck down in the very place where we are supposed to be editing spoken word. The lack of detail is Fun and makes everything sound good... But that is not gonna do you any favors in the long run. That fitlock thing is snapping on people and causing the whole earcup to fall off.
I picked up a set on Friday. I went down to the local big musical box store and actually intended to settle on some 280 pros but tried these out. The lack of pleather cups was what really pushed me toward the 🦘 option. Comfy 😋. We’ll see how they shake out in the long term. Alcantera is robust but has problems with skin oils over time. Primary use is long-session monitoring. Nothing extremely critical. Go for an hour walk with a camera and SVMX, film ambient content, and wanted something to make sure I wasn’t having problems along the way.
Zeos thought they were amazing and so did I. Maybe if you're used to non studio headphones with exaggerated bass and audio, you might think these lack on sound quality. But they are nearly perfect for monitors
@@learningcameras I got them and was expecting to dislike the flat sound with less bass than im used to, but actually i found them veiled. Great build quality though, they seem like theyll last forever.
@@perseus431 yeah the are muffled beyond belief. They put a half inch of foam between your ear and the driver to try and tame them down. I'm sure once these get modded with new pads and inner foams they might be fixable.
❗️ WARNING ❗️ Don’t buy these headphones. They break VERY EASY on the opposite side of the locking knob. It’s just thin plastic holding the cup to the headband and it snaps easy. It’s happened to a lot of customers.
Great question! Kind of...there is a piece that broke on the headphones on me a few months ago so I don't travel with them anymore. They still work and the cups have held up but there was a piece of plastic attaching one of the ear cups that broke and I had to glue it back. I did have an early pre release version of the headphones so not sure if that is a weak point or if I just got unlucky

For someone with increasingly senior vision who struggles to see the tiny red dot on my Sonys, the large letters R & L are a winning feature for me.
Yep! Plus they are shaped like your ear so you are less likely to even need to look. First pair of headphones I can feel and know which way they go
They have L and R in braille on the sides
@@samfraulino That's thoughtful
@@learningcameras Will these fit bigger ears?

I like the straight detachable and reversible cable. I hate the coiled cable on the Sony 7506 cans.
Definitely agree. These feel like a huge step up from those
Wow Dan, you are so skilled!🥁🎧
Appreciate that!

I have seen this comment on many videos now. I think this might be a plant haha
Great review!
Thanks so much!
Wow, really nice intro !!!!!!!

Nice! Good news is cups are replaceable either way
Hi Dan, could you please reply my emails about the cooperation of E-scooter?
So much variation in the reviews of these. Zeos was mad about them. Others find the sound mediocre.

Haha! My parents were both born in Jamaica so definitely in the fam

and not even cheap.. it's not the best budget, maybe in different countries this is the budget but not here.
Are you still using these headphones in 2024?
