    Just got the Sennheiser HD 280 Pros. My use for headphone is practicing piano exercises on a digital keyboard. I would prefer not to use phones at all, but I live in an apartment and I have to think about neighbors. My level right now is intermediate beginner. The Sennheiser HD 280 Pros are acoustically fantastic but for me they are overdoing it. They are, as reported, heavy and tight. I don't relish the idea of spending the next several years with them on my head for at least a half an hour a day. That's why I'm back here looking for something else.
    This may be a shock, but while waiting for my Sennheisers to show up, I plugged my dollar store ear buds into my Roland FP-30X and, surprise, they worked pretty well and responded over the whole range of the keyboard. My advice, if any, is to pay attention to the in-depth reviews. The defect of the Sennheiser is, as reported, very strong and perhaps amplified bass response. On the piano, you rarely get down that low but I am not sure how faithfully they are reproducing the sample sounds of the low range in balance with midrange sample sounds.
    Considering my purpose, which is to not bother the neighbors, I am thinking I should just get some good earbuds and stop right there. I know they won't weigh on my head and they don't isolate you as much. If you're doing mixing and studio work, you have to deal with the conditions and possible discomforts that come with it. Not for daily keyboard practice. You don't sign on to unnecessary discomforts if you don't have to.

    It sounds cool especially for vocal recording or tracking instruments.

    • @MashifyLV
      @MashifyLV 2 роки тому

      I got the Hi X25s, which are the wireless version of the X15. The hinge snapped after 36 days. Same fate as my AKGs had years ago, where the middle snapped after 6 months of use. I would never EVER recommend anything AKG or Austrian Audio (supposed to be the same engineers), the plastic they use is CRAP! My 30pound chinese headphones were miles more reliable!
      So, if you bought the Austrian Audio recently - be on alert!

    • @hironanase20122012
      @hironanase20122012 2 роки тому

      @@MashifyLV just don’t compare wireless and wire headphones. Those wireless system totally affected the original performance of a headphones. Some years ago I got two pairs of Sony headphones in a same model but one of them is wireless. The wireless one is worse than the wired so I throw the wireless one to rubbish bin 🤣
      For a budget option you may try Hi X15 with a good headphones preamp such as apogee groove. For those headphones in this video I had triad in different studios. They are not bad but I feel Hi X15 got a better frequency response and a bit flatter EQ curve. If you like the vocal is much louder and sharper, Sony one is better.😊

    • @MashifyLV
      @MashifyLV 2 роки тому

      @@hironanase20122012 I see what you are saying, but I am not comparing the performance.
      I am pointing out the physical design flaws, which I imagine are present in both X15s as they were in the X25s.
      Seeing how the plastic is just as bad as the AKGs years ago (those were wired btw), I don't see them changing the physical rigidity one bit for the wireless model from the wired one.
      Also, I was extra careful with them, because I still had the trauma from AKGs in the back of my head.

      Another thing is that the are pads are mounted on there so tight that whenever I want to take them off for cleaning I'm terrified that I'm gonna rip the headphones into pieces.
