Sol Gabetta is my favorite cellist. Personally, I don't believe anyone quite equals her! Tchaikowsky is one of my favorite composers and this piece is one of my favorite pieces ever written. I'm in heaven!
I'm sure her beauty has contributed to her popularity. But like Helene Grimaud (with whom she has collaborated) she has the dignity to keep it classy, which is more than I can say about some other musicians who unfortunately have been rewarded with fame and fortune.
I must add that this is a most amazing interpretation of this piece played by a solo cellist.

So many are better, to say nobody equals her is not very smart, Janos Starker, Pitgorsky, Jaqueline du Pre, and many more.
