To everybody commenting about the $200 dollar kobe beef steak being too much. I understand but as somebody who has tried it it in Japan it is a must try in your life. Don't look at the price point, value the experience that you will never have again. Trust me.
I mean, it's not like you're gonna eat it daily. I'll just probably gonna eat it once in my lifetime. Even if I live in or near Japan, I'll probably have it once every 10 years or so. Definitely on my bucket list
Even tho kobe beef is way fattier than other beef, a much larger percentage of it is unsaturated fat (which is why it literally melts in your mouth), which isn't bad for you like saturated fat.
Henry Pham That's a misconception, more recently saturated fats have shown to be healthier. Well who really knows we are just at the mercy of food corporations and food regulatory systems.
Your video made me want to eat Kobe beef very much. By the way I am Japanese living in Japan about 40 years never got to eat Kobe wagyu stake, because its outraging price. lol Usual people living here don't get to eat them so often, like the other people around the world. Maybe on the 10th anniversary of our marriage.
I'm an American, now 40, but lived in Kobe from age 11 to age 14. I think I got to try the good stuff a grand total of 1 time while living there when my dad took me to a company event where it was being served, but I had the cheaper (like 20 dollar) Kobe beef multiple times just eating with my family or friends. It's all good, you really don't have to pay for the most expensive stuff, that's just a status symbol/showing off. Just enjoy whatever beef is in your price range/accessible to you. ;)
well he copied the idea from buzzfeed, didn't even put any new ideas, so i'm pretty sure buzzfeed not only deserves mentioning but deserves credit too. I don't like buzzfeed either but that's how it works. you can't just copy someone else's idea and take the whole credit!

Well the quality of the beef is expressed the best when it is rare/medium rare as well the texture and flavor. This is why you see the kobe beef being served how it is. You can never appreciate or experience the quality of the beef if it's well done, no matter how expensive the steak.
I've never tried Kobe or Wagyu but I imagine it is a lot like seared Foie Gras in that it is really hard to convey how amazing it is to someone who has never tried it. Trying a really excellent cut of Wagyu is definitely on my bucket list.

Processing... yeah Kobe was named after the beef after his parents took a trip to Japan and saw it on the menu and did you know... his middle name is Bean... after Jelly Bean cuz his father's nickname was jelly Bean🙄
Kobe and Matsuzaka beef are some of the most amazing things in the world to eat. My favorite is at a yakiniku restaurant where you can cook it yourself on a charcoal grill right at your table so every piece is fresh off the grill. It's so tender that you could cut it with a fork, though chopsticks are better because it's part of the experience.
It's just a larger surface area of browning. Have them cook it "western style" and then compare it. It's all about the sear layer. The japanese technique maximizes the milliard effect.
Actually it has a lot more to do with the marbling that is selectively bred into the cows and the extremely strict quality control. You can eat diced steak anywhere, it won't taste anything like, nor have the texture of high grade Kobe.

Emmillyy It's not buzzfeed tho People have been doing that "trend" long before It's just that buzzfeed made a series And all these new trends are like abortions btw
alphahunterd He said that the Chateaubriand($200) was better than the sirloin($100) even though the sirloin was fattier. cuz the chat was tender enough without the beef fat. made it taste meaty but just as tender if not more
Sure you can get a large portion of "regular" beef for the same price, but a small amount of Kobe will leave you feeling full because of the richness. 😁👍
Revolution I was talking about how some people want quantity over quality. But a $200 steak will make you full, not from the quantity but the sheer richness.
This video is how I found your amazing channel I watch you every day. But all I can think of is someone burning the beef. But, love the videos love your personality and love your channel keep it up.

ryudada what do u mean
lol is there any proof he defected the communist party? did he say something bad politically about China in UA-cam or his social media?
Chris Tanada i think i saw him in china uncensored or something
The trend died a long time ago, yet it ends up on trending. WTF?
yeah this $100 vs $10 thing has been dead for awhile now...
Emmillyy
It's not buzzfeed tho
People have been doing that "trend" long before
It's just that buzzfeed made a series
And all these new trends are like abortions btw
I never said it was buzzfeed...
Well it is associated with it
Julian Marquez umm it is not???
Thanks for sharing. After seeing this video, I headed out to Kobe Tanryu and tried it a few weeks ago! It was fantastic!
Finally catch one of your videos when i'm not starving. lol
PureKaoZ I just ate but I still have room for some steak
CheeseHead there is always room for steak bruh..

“On this episode of Worth It, we’re going to...”
This video was so informative. Thank you!
Incredibly expensive and delicious kobe steak.
*_Serves it on a piece of white bread_*
*tasting oxtail soup* "definitely need some hot oil" lmao
You keep it real... informative and educational. And also entertaining. Thanks
Rip Kobe 😭
Bruce Bayerlein ik it
@mrfrostypoo bruh.. Maybe
Wait so more fat = better beef? a little confused about the grading.
Beef - The fattier the better
alphahunterd fat=flavor
alphahunterd He said that the Chateaubriand($200) was better than the sirloin($100) even though the sirloin was fattier. cuz the chat was tender enough without the beef fat. made it taste meaty but just as tender if not more
Not the disgusting fat that smells like vomit you can find everywhere. It's the buttery smell flavorful kind of fat, you cant go wrong with butter.
Ah ok. So it depends on the ratio of fat to meat. Sounds good.
8:16 still cracks me up. However I understand! Lucky man..love this
Now we just need a 2$ kobe beef steak and a 2000$ kobe beef steak
You put the “$” in the wrong place. It goes before the numbers not after. E.g. $2 and $2000
fyi: ginger is there to cleanse the palette not mix with your expensive meats!
Joe Wdowiak ikrrrr he always does that mixing sauce to things that are already perfection AHHH it taste so good by itself already
Joe Wdowiak Fyi palate not pallete
Joe Wdowiak Pあs
Joe Wdowiak chinese people do that even in sushi restaurant😂
Good beef and wasabi tastes very very good!
Love you, and your shows !
Hail Mikey Chen, vlogger of foods, guardian of the great wall, eater of Gods!
Sure you can get a large portion of "regular" beef for the same price, but a small amount of Kobe will leave you feeling full because of the richness. 😁👍
Makistoys who eats 200 dollar steak to feel full, at that price point its about the experience and taste, not feeling full (unfortunately).
All I want for Christmas is Kobe beef baby
This just made me soooo depressed. Here I am eating two min noodles and feeling terrible about myself. Why do I do this to myself? Why??
Lmao I ran out of salsa so I'm watching while eating plain tostitos and shredded cheese
and here i am eating dirt.
He kinda reminds me of a cool version of Chackie Chan. How much more of a compliment can somebody get? Keep doing what you do!
this video had me cracking so hard... he kept on saying the best steak you had in the USA is like mcdonalds or lunchables meat compared to beef in Kobe. LOLOLOLOL
I am watching this again in Nov. 2019 and I just noticed that Mikey is wearing a nice blue dress shirt. I have to say he cleans up nice. But back to the Kobe beef...yummmm.
