Guess the brewery as i like trying different sake. I actually got a bottle that comes close to a good woody armangac or light whisky in taste. That view from Rokko was amazing
On my trip to Japan I made sure to spend a day in Kobe just for the beef and the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum. My dad's a retired carpenter so I grew up around hand tools and found the museum to be INCREDIBLY beautiful and interesting! I would recommend it for anyone also fascinated by the country's old wooden architecture as you'll really get an appreciation for the shrines and buildings and how they were made! Sadly it was very stormy the afternoon I arrived and so outside of the museum and dinner I didnt really get to see or do much. Had a couple hours the next morning to stroll for a bit and it was such a beautiful and sunny day! If I ever go back to Japan I am going to make sure to spend a couple of days in just Kobe itself because I absolutely loved what little I saw of the city and I want to see more! It felt like the perfect blend of smaller town cozy but with plenty to see and do!
literally just was there today. I also recommend the cable car that goes up to Mt. Maya. Beautiful views of Kobe, Rokko Island, and all the way to Osaka.
We stayed in Osaka and Kobe is definitely worth doing day trips to....we had an affordable set lunch at Kobe Steakland and an expensive dinner at Tanryu
I didn't spend much time in Kobe, but I remember Steakland was quite good, and spending too much time chatting with a couple of guys working at a used classical record shop in Chinatown was one of my fondest memories of my Japan trip. That steak sandwich with cheese was essentially a fancy Philly cheesesteak in a pita, although putting the cheese on the outside was a strange choice.
I studied abroad at a university in Kobe and it’s such a breath of fresh air to get a video which discusses other things to do in Kobe other than Kobe beef ☺️ I feel like this city is such an underrated gem in Kansai!
We loved Kobe. If we could live anywhere in Japan it would be there as we live in a seaside city in our home country and it would remind us of there. The beach at Suma was lovely too!
Kobe is the best city in japan for sightseeing. but a lot of foreigner tourists dont go there or just eat kobe beef. there are tasty food, the beach, beautiful architecture, hot spring, chinatown, beautiful mountains and city view, aqualium, bay area, waterfalls, flower garden, art museum.
I will never get tired saying it, Sarah, your way of conveying information, describing, explaining, is unparalleled!! I was preparing my work on the laptop and left the video playing on the phone (still in front of me) so i wasn't looking the whole time but just hearing your descriptions was bringing up the images in my mind! I haven't been to my beloved Japan yet but now i am definitely adding Kobe to my bucketlist and i feel humbled at how they used to make sake in the old times!!
Kobe beef looks delicious! Spider-Man was nice surprise. I just remembered that Kobe was open for trade with the west (1853). And this is probably reason for existing western style buildings. Night view and evening dinner feels really amazing. Nice brewery tour!
I stopped by Kobe during my trip last May and has Kobe Beef at Steakland Kobe near Sannomiya Station. For 10,000 yen, it was really good. Will try the one in Chinatown the next time I visit Kobe.
Probably not alone in this opinion, but I think Sarah’s calling in life lies in talking in front of a camera. And with her fluency in Japanese/English, sky’s the limit. Smart: with all that rich beef, doing a veg nabe…what a relief. Loved the variety of locations - loved the vid. 👏🏼
I visited two weeks the kansai region, most of the time invested in Osaka and Kyoto. The day I visited Kobe I decided to to get relax because I did not have any high expectation about the city. Definitely kobe was my favorite city, I hope to return and spend at least two or three days there.
That 2nd street food reminds me of an empanada 🤤🤤 I gotta try that next time I'm in Japan since Kobe is on my list for next time! Much love from Arizona 💜💜
Had my first trip to Japan last month and decided to take a detour on my way back to Kyoto from Himeji. And I was surprised by how many great spots there were in Kobe, will definitely spend a few days there when I come back next time.
The one i liked the most was the Nishimura Coffee. I am a Brazilian guy going for my first trip in Japan and Kobe is in my bucket list. This video was definitely helpful! Please keep making vlogs like this!
I would love to take the cruise across the harbor it's looks very relaxing and you can take some amazing photos, thank you Sarah and the TC team for sharing this!
Sarah saying "Super Satan" instead of (I'm assuming she meant) "Super Saiyan" is definitely a Sarah moment 😂🫶🏻 Thank you TC for showing us some hidden gems of Kobe! Such an informing video!❤️
Good videos! I hope many foreign people notice the charm of Kobe city. Personally, hiking in Rokko mountain is a good activity. There are good trails for hiking in Rokko mountain and you can easily access to the entrance of the mountain.
I think I would have had a rare Kobe Beef Burger with cheese. That Chinatown looks awesome, usually means cheap eats can be found. WOW what was the red building you walked by that looked like a huge salt shaker??? Amazing views from the boat. Love fire, Your face reaction said it all eating Kobe steak. Amazing night view. I would take the 10 min cable car. Absolutely looks like no nightlife like Osaka, Specially Tokyo. Absolutely love exploring and street food. I have always wanted to go in a hot springs. Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish
the onsen with western style rooms was my favorite, and the fact there is an iron hot spring and a silver was fascinating, one thing I would like to see the channel dive in, is for onsen or areas where tattoos and family friendly hot springs as well as the etiquette to enter them, some are no clothes, can I wear my swimsuit or towel, I know thats not the culture, but as a foreigner I would like to experience an onsen or hot spring, just want to know and identify the signs and rules and which I can visit! (just like the ball indicating the sake ripeness) oh and tours that are english friendly, or at least what are good apps for translation and devices to communicate and travel with! as well as maps!
Oysters are also good in Kobe because they come from nearby fishermen’s warfs. Recommend to go visit Murotsu Port in Tatsuno City, next to Himeji, if you would like to try oysters fresh out of seas. In the Kobe downtown, I also recommend Sone Jazz Restaurant/Bar, which is underrated for the quality. It’s in Kitano Cho, near Nishimura Coffee Shop. Bar Yanagase is also worth mentioning. It’s a hidden classic of Kobe. Also, don’t forget that Kobe offers all sorts of international cuisines, even Bhutanese.
Nice video. Whats really kinda missing in that list is the Nunobiki Herb Gardens. (but the middle of winter isnt the best time for that i guess ;) ) You can walk there (and pass Nunobiki falls) by a trail starting next to Shin-Kobe's Shinkansen station, or take a ropeway up from there. Additionally you can then hike from there to Mount Rokko, enjoy the evening view and then take the cable car down there ;)
Fate fans totally not obsessing over every frame to spot IRL locations used throughout the series. Like the Tohsaka mansion at 3:38 Cafe Ahnenerbe: 4:01 Stairs leading up to Ryudoji Temple (no Assassin at the top, thankfully) 11:09 Final edit: if I missed a spot, or got something wrong, let me know

How do you fill about biscuits and tomato gravy or biscuits and gravy with canalope I am from Alabama and that is what we got for breakfast with cheep steak but it was good but you had to chew for a While
Which spot in Kobe was your favourite? Did we miss any? Let us know! 🙌

You need to go to this place for ice cream down by the harbour!
You should disclose ads.
Sake brewery and dinner made my list 😊
Disappointed that kobe herb gardens weren't mentioned. They are such a picturesque place with great views down into the city.
Guess the brewery as i like trying different sake. I actually got a bottle that comes close to a good woody armangac or light whisky in taste.
That view from Rokko was amazing
You have finally introduced the best city in western Japan!
Amazing video production and amazing content! Love it! sarah's great
Kobe was the first city I lived and worked as an adult. I love it.
On my trip to Japan I made sure to spend a day in Kobe just for the beef and the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum. I am invincible 🦾
I really liked that view from the mountain.
literally just was there today. I also recommend the cable car that goes up to Mt. Maya. Beautiful views of Kobe, Rokko Island, and all the way to Osaka.
By far the best Kobe video I’ve seen, thank you for such a complete take on the region!
This is definitely on my Japan Wishlist 🫶

Thank you....great vid and a 'must do' to go to Kobe next time in Japan. 👍👍
I must visit! A truly fantastic tour!
I studied abroad at a university in Kobe and it’s such a breath of fresh air to get a video which discusses other things to do in Kobe other than Kobe beef ☺️ I feel like this city is such an underrated gem in Kansai!
Definitely a gem that more people need to visit
I didn't realize it was underrated! I lived in Kansai for a year and still visit regularly. I've always thought highly of Kobe!
We loved Kobe. If we could live anywhere in Japan it would be there as we live in a seaside city in our home country and it would remind us of there. The beach at Suma was lovely too!
IT'S SAD TO SEE THESE DAYS AS THE INDIAN'S ARE LITERALLY TAKING IT OVER.

Kobe was the first place I visited in Japan. I even named my dog after it. 😄

My mom comes from Kobe. I just went back in November. Absolutely love it there
23:16 - SOUPer curious? ☺
This is great content. Definitely adding Kobe to the list!
You’ll have a great time there 😄
thinking of stopping by Kobe in November, this video was well needed
The place with private onsen baths looked like a dream come true! Beautiful and luxurious! Thanks for some great ideas, Sarah!
There are tons of those and you don't have to go all the way up to the mountain like this chick did. She just doesn't know better.
I love this video- very informative and really makes me want to come to Japan ❤
Awesomely entertaining and informative video. The editing was top-notch as well, really liked the flyovers between locations.
The coffee shop was my favorite. Another informative video by T.C. I wish each an everyone of you the best in 2024. ❤😊
Def now on my list of places to visit on my trip,, it really looked fun and you only scratched the surface
Kiku- masamune sake company makes my absolute favorite Japanese skincare products!
Thank you for the wonderful video of the Japanese guide to Kobe 👍
Our pleasure!

As well known as Kobe is, it’s still massively underrated. Great city to visit.

Great Kobe guide.
Glad you enjoyed it
I feel Kobe is gonna be my fav city during my visit this March, I want to go to Venus Bridge...
Always luv and look forward to your insightful and amazing vids. cheers.

Congrats TC - This is probably one of the best produced videos that you've done and was really enjoyable :)
Thank you so much for the kind words ❤️
And another amazing video from TC!
Thanks, Sarah and Shah, for adding more locations to my bucket list!!
Our pleasure!

Nah, she was definitely talking about Satan-san's Super Sentai phase
Hail Saiyan! lol
I especially loved the Onsen.
The edits are awesome and on a television quality level! Keep it up and would like to see more of your videos. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Amazing coverage! You have made me very excited for my trip 😁👌

I should go to Kobe! 😄
waaaaait, is that a Vivienne Westwood barett??? You go Sara!!!!

人気のある方が、神戸を紹介して下さるのは嬉しいです。
Great guide
Take a drink (of Sake) every time Sarah says Kobe 😁
This drinking game will not end well 😂
😵💫😵💫😵💫
We went to Japan last May and travelled to Kobe. We visited the Herb Garden and Ice Cream United 🙂
Thx - this is great!
Was thinking about adding Kobe to our itinerary in May and definitely will after stumbling upon this video 😊
You’re gonna have a great time 😁
I was in Kobe 2 weeks ago and I loved it! But I've struggled to explain what makes it special... now I can just share this vid 😁
Time for a big onsen tour! Show us the best onsen japan has to offer!
The kissaten ❤❤❤
y0, shout out to the camera operator on this one! Nice work
Thank you 🙇🏽♂️
The thing you are eating at 14:00 looks like what we call Koshelva or Kağıthelva in Turkiye. Im pretty sure the same thing tbh.

Is there a walk-in onsen in arima (planning to do a day trip in kobe and experience the onsen nature vibe)? Or you should book a hotel to experience the onsen?
Seera-sama! 😊❤🇵🇭
Great video! Sarah I love your pink pants, where’d you get them from?
Sarah here 😊 I thrifted them from a 2nd hand clothing store, so unfortunately not sure about the brand! Sorry about that!
Good!!
I'm planning to go in December...would you suggest to stay in Arima and visit Kobe as a day trip or vice versa?
How do you fill about biscuits and tomato gravy or biscuits and gravy with canalope I am from Alabama and that is what we got for breakfast with cheep steak but it was good but you had to chew for a While
In what restaurant did you enjoy the Kobe A4 steak?
A5 kobe street food oh wow
I thought this was a video from Sarah's channel and she had kicked the production value up a notch. Until the Tokyo Creative ending. 😂
Sarah here! I WISH I could have Shah (TC's cameraman) working with me for my channel! haha
Where did you eat the kobe beef, I couldn't find it listed in the links?
What is the best way for finding/booking onsen stays?
Next week!
If I remember correctly, the A in A5 is the yield at process and the 5 is the marble score. Or something like that
dear .. is there a good public onsen in Arima to go .?
神戸に来てたんだ!😮
Based on this video(excluding the cruise) what's the ideal time to spend in Kobe? Definitely would love to go back to Japan!
Autumn is great, since you can catch some of the autumn leaves! Anytime of year is pretty good there though 😆
Perfect! would 2 days be enough or 3 days is the sweet spot?
Would you recommend staying in Kobe for a few days or would a day trip from Osaka be best?
You can definitely do a day trip, but if you want to enjoy Kobe to the fullest, we recommend a couple of days at least :)
How much is the hotel that comes with a private onsen ? I like to give it a try
Ive been to Osaka already. Wasnt too sure about kobe but after seeing this im very interested in visiting!!!!
Kikumasamune's owner is Kano family.
Kodokan judo's Jigoro Kano is this family too.
what the name of the restaurant you had the fancy dinner at?
