I WON The Lottery In Thailand and Instantly Gave It ALL Away

- This is a story of how I won the lottery in Thailand and instantly gave it all away to those who are less fortunate. Join me as I go to a lottery store in Bangkok to claim my first winning lottery ticket in Thailand. I have been playing the Thai lottery for almost 1 year, but this is the first time I have won. As soon as I won, I knew I would give it all away to those in need. Follow me along as I give out money, food and water to the less fortunate and homeless on this sweltering 100F (37.8c) summer day here in Bangkok. I gave each person enough money (100 Baht = $3US) to buy themselves 2-3 meals as well as some water and snacks (until I ran out).
My hope is that this video will inspire you to go out and do something kind for a stranger as well. Please take care of yourselves and others around you!

It may sound hard but please do not support beggar and homeless in thailand
first they might belong to gang members that force them to beg
second they are no use for our society (i know it sound rough and Communism) but for real.
third it would be better to support like student or street performers they usually locate in night market or china town .
In general you should give it to someone that can passing forward your kindness that would make the society better.
Even me never get won the Thai lottery for the whole my entire life.Congrats.anw.
Serg, you are an inspiration, what a nice thing to do for the Thai’s. Your blood is worth bottling. Cheers from Australia
I really believe that even small gestures like this, Kamena, Lot 2 other people. I’m hoping this video will inspire other people to do nice things.
Women and children begging are not citizens of Thailand. But they are foreigners who come to beg in Thailand. illegal should not give money

ในส่วนของต่างด้าว เจ้าหน้าที่ภาครัฐของไทย ส่งตัวกลับหลายครั้ง และพบว่าพวกเขาก็ลักลอบกลับมาทำเรื่องเดิมซ้ำๆ

Homeless people get unfairly stigmatized, but no one chooses to be homeless. I've helped deliver cooked meals to homeless folks in the towns around me. A short conversation was enough to know they were suffering mental illness. Nice work for humanity!
We can all do a little. Thank you for helping as well.

I'm so glad to see you eating the salt in the chips and the bottled water. Salt is exactly what the body needs in these temperatures. Thank you so much for brining attention to this need in Thailand. This is great and important work you are doing and I feel very inspired. Bringing people bottled water is beyond a gentlemanly and an absolutely lovely thing to do. Not just giving money but doing that is a window to how amazing your heart is man. You even opened the bottle for her. I am so inspired right now, thank you for doing this.
Thanks again Rob . It’s such a small gesture to buy any of these people a bottle of water. I would encourage everyone else to do so, especially now that it’s summertime.
@@LifewithSerg Small but huge
agreed😇💗
Potato chips are a terrible source for salt .. since the chips also come with zero nutrition and tons of saturated fats. A MUCH better source of food for these people would have been sticky rice .. which is salted .. is cheaper (so you can buy more) .. more nutritious .. and takes up much more volume (and lasts longer) in a hungry stomach. And if unsure what to buy, then just give the people the money. The vast majority will know which foods to buy for themselves.
@@aaronbux1 Then get your ass down there and go buy some sticky rice and go distribute it.

@@LifewithSerg Yes, giving is giving.
if you give, You don't need to think about what they do with what you give.
In Buddhism, there is a belief in giving without expecting anything in return. Or if you do alms with the expectation of receiving merit, that's not right.

It was wonderful to meet you today in the On Nut neighborhood! Thanks for taking the time to talk to us for a while, I know it must seem odd to you to be recognized, but we feel like we almost know you from watching your videos on UA-cam! I love that this video was so unexpected, I felt like it was rather about Thai beliefs about Karma, you pass along the good that comes to you, and it comes back to you... I often pass these homeless or beggars on the street, and esp the disabled ones, I can't bear to see them in the hot sun with physical disabilities (clubfoot, missing or twisted limbs), and often give them my baht change. There are also many blind singers around On Nut BTS, they have a cup in front for donations, and some are quite talented. I was wondering about what "In de kap" means? I would love to see a video of just basic Thai phrases-- and yes, we mean to take formal lessons soon! Or, how about a video on how to take the public buses in Bangkok -- when you can't read the signs, or basically know what to do... It was very nice to meet you in person, hope to see you again one day. --Donna and Keith.
Thank You Serg. You are a very kind person. I have done the same thing, but mostly donating money electronically.
That is so very kind of you! I will be making a video with a large Bangkok organization soon.
@@LifewithSerg Just FYI, one thing to think about is that some of the homeless may not be really homeless. There are organized teams of scam that have their accomplices dress like homeless being dropped off at certain places in town to do beggar, and later picked up. Some of them are from a naboring country. But what you did is the right thing.

I admire your kindness. FYI from my search, it's illegal to be a beggar in Thailand. As for the homeless, they can live along the streets as long as they don't cause any troubles. The government have policies to help the homeless and the poor by providing shelters and food. Also temples keep helping these people too. YES, there are gangs of fake beggars.

OMG.😳Congratulations🎉I've been waiting for it since last year until now. I'm not as lucky as you🤣
Yes, I definitely got very lucky.
Ok, so how long have you been there? You speak a nice bit! So encouraging!
I have lived here for almost one and a half years. When I made this video, I think I had lived here about eight months.
You are so kind to help people around. I like it.
Beggar as a career is reserved for Thai poor people. There are also other 13 reserved careers for Thai poor people such as barber, shoe repair, key making, cloth repairing, selling things and etc. However, it is a fact that many beggars without visas enter Thailand from neighboring countries by walking across the border. Millions of them stay in Thailand and do not go back. It is a way to get money and send it back to their home countries to build a house and get rich. Some may stay in a group of 4-6 and rent a room in an apartment. Some rent a baby for 15,000 per month to set a prop. Some work under gangsters and share profits and they get food delivery from the gangsters. It is like a mafia organisation where there is a boss, a group controller, gangsters. After work, there may be a happy time with beer and drugs. It is a kind of business. You may need to see where and how they live to get the real beggars. But the areas are dangerous for you.
Ok
Living 20 more years as an expat here you will learn not to give money to a mum with kids, the husband is watching and he will drink that money. Please just give them food, drink and sweets, then that will stop the old man pissing your money up the wall. Your a good guy.
I know what you’re saying, Peter, and I suspected that when I gave them the money. But it’s OK.
I've been an expat for 6 years and no matter what, if they are desperate enough to do this they need help. The reality is , they are out there in the hot, beyond hot, dirty and miserable location. If life was going great, they wouldn't be doing this. If your saying they leave here and drive home in a Mercedes to their palace, you are out of your mind. Most expats here are poor and can't give, so they make excuses about why they are actually benevolent by being meiserly and holding on to as many of their dwindling retirement funds as possible. It would be great if as you do that, you don't try to make a religion out of it.
Shame you missed the critical point

GOOGL did a horrible job translating this. So I’m not sure how to answer your question. I just decided to donate this money. That’s all.
@@LifewithSerg Deputy Serg, please not to worry about the above specific comment... yourself know, god know about good deed you did. Please don't let the comment discourage your intention. (She's saying something about that you did this video in return for UA-cam LIKES VIEW incentive) They might not understand your mindset. Some comments are just concerning that you may be just a tourist that give money to homeless may promote a social problem in Bangkok. They offering a different ways to help by donating to a charity or giving things to eats instead of money. They may not understand that you have been in law enforcement in US, you have seen so many social issues and crimes in a community in your previous courier. Deep inside, Thai people have a good heart and sweet with the smile, this is why you've choose to settle down in Thailand.
You are so kind ! Most of the poor are Combodian and Laotians who smuggle into the city, The more you give them, the more you encourage them to sit and beg forever, l'm sorry to say this 🙏🏻😢
Most of these people encountered had mental health or medical issues. I don’t feel that I encouraged them to be lazy.
เขาเสียเงินให้ตมเข้ามาขอทาน
@@LifewithSerg Good reply, sure a few people are out to take advantage, but most are genuinely people with issues that have fallen through the system's cracks. It's nice to see someone continue doing good despite the skeptical nature that can develop.
Hey Ton, we don't care about that crap. Neither should you.
