Boys in Blue on the scene immediately though. Thank goodness dude
They hang at the top of the canal in the middle of an outgoing because there are so many that think that they are just driving a car on The NJ Turnpike and do not understand tides.
Mom is casually dumping, (Dads) drink?
Stupid tax cut deep today. Are the boats limited on speed through the canal? The scout could have easily made a clean pass but kept it slow and stuffed it.
What was the boat the police used to save the family?
How the f@ck is this a No Wake Zone...Whomever (Corperation/City) did that should be charged with criminal neglect and sued for wreckless endangerment!!!
You don't know or understand the canal to say that and this is at the peak tide period. frankly, it is the Captain's duty to understand the conditions, and to run this canal at this period of the tide cycle is foolish. This is just an example of a landlubber's operation of a vessel in conditions beyond his skill level.
@@superbmediacontentcreator A landlubber who got a bonus on Wall Street and said, "Let's get a boat. I've always wanted a boat." Puts others in danger
The captain in the first round may have been smiling in the beginning but after sinking his boat I bet that smile got wiped off his face.
Just the cost to retrieve the sunken vessel plus add on the environmental folks coming after you for the gas and oil that you left behind, is going to lighten his wallet for sure.
“Let’s build a boat where the bow slants down”
“Great idea! Let’s put a bathtub up there too!”
It's ALWAYS a Jerk in a Bowrider...Captain Courageous had Eight People in that boat
"Let's be a moron and not know how to handle my own boat"
"Some people" should not own boats. It jeopardizes other people's lives.
They take a low freeboard, low raked bow LAKE boat in Blue water conditions. CLUELESS.
With the motor trimmed down all the way too. Idiots.
@@satunnainenkatselija4478 They're lake-boats, but inexperienced boaters don't know any better. Ofc the manufacturer should warn any buyer not to screw around in heavy seas....but that might affect profits, yaknow.
Boat is definitely a lake boat, relatively calm water vessel. But a sensible, experienced operator could've made it through fine. That complete Olympic level moron simply did everything wrong.
If that operator had a bigger boat, he'd just get in trouble in rougher waters.
In Europe that wouldve been classified as a D boat, only for lakes and waves at maximum 30cm high.
The first boater was an absolute idiot. No one should be in the bow coming thru this area. I noticed the lady in the back wouldn't even put her drink down when the kids a first started getting moved to the back, the face on the one kids shows he was terrified. She poured it out only when law enforcement got close though. Guess that white claw was more important than calming a frightened little kid.
I think you need to change your rules that if a boat goes under in a canal or Inlet, a.k.a. sinks, that the canal/Inlet wins for that day.
should be a separate category for morons operating a boat.
It's pronounced Man-Ah-Skwan (Manasquan). The Point Pleasant Canal Connects the Manasquan River with Barnegat Bay. Therein lies the problem. The north end of the canal (Manasquan River) is a bout 1 mile from the Atlantic Ocean. The south end of the canal (Barnegat Bay) is about 14 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. As such, tides at each end of the canal occur at vastly different times. The canal is narrow and that creates swift currents due to the tide differential. Add a lot of boat traffic, along with sea walls along both sides and it creates a lot problems. The Point Pleasant Canal has been hazardous since the day it was built.
I live in Nj pretty close to the canal and that canal is no joke!!! I’ve seen some crazy things in that canal and it’s not always the captain’s fault it’s just how that canal is and how strong that current is along with the crazy traffic going through it !!!
@@karlanderson3523 I also live close to the canal and traverse it frequently. Every incident I have witnessed in the canal over the past 10 years have all been the captains fault
I could b wrong but wasn't the river that begins with M where the shark attacks occurred much earlier in the 1900s that inspired the jaws movies?
@@stevebennett9839 you're thinking of Matawan Creek
Yeah that whole area is downright nasty. We sailed out of the Manasquan inlet for a few months and that inlet was the lowlight of our departure and eventual return. Nail biter extraordinaire on a single engine sailboat. Happy days when my dad took it out for the last time and just came around Cape May and through the canal to an otherwise peaceful Chesapeake Bay.
BG - it's pronounced Mana (as in mana from heaven) Squan (like squa - the female indian word - with an N) Emphasis on the Mana
I think it translate to "Food Lady",
I get it wrong all the time and I live here!
@@superbmediacontentcreator Ive been calling it Banansquan since ive been in HS.
Crazy that it's a no wake zone. Those boats don't stand a chance.
I think you could even successfully take that to court, if you get caught going to fast.
yah, Im guessing they wouldnt care too much if you sped up to save your boat
I’d take the ticket over potentially sinking my boat any day I guess
Your allowed to go fast enough to keep your boat under control. Most boats go faster than that and don't stuff the bow. Boats don't sink every day lol
Go to SHORE BOATS channel. He has a lot of videos at this canal
Trim your engines to get the bow up!
Don't have ANYONE in the bow!
And no fenders hanging off your boat!
People need to take the CG class BEFORE they go boating!
Not surprising how many dopes are out there these days....jaysus!
To be successful running the Pt Pleasant canal you simply must read and calculate the tides, otherwise, you're in for a rough ride. Many have contacted me for their boat deliveries since I've run her many, many times...
I think you missed that one of the kids in the first boat while wearing a jacket did NOT have it secure. Which should have been a loss from the start. Pretty sure the jacket was too big for him. But, I agree that sinking the boat should be a loss for the boats for the day.
Guess you guys share content cause I saw this on another channel.
yep...saw that one a little while back.
Please don't feel bad about mispronouncing the name "Manasquan". Many Jersey residents don't know the correct pronunciation either. It's an honest mistake in your part
I hope the cops filed charges after this. Boats taken on a ton of water and nobody has a life jacket on.
Notice how long it took them to dig out the vests and put them on. Gotta blame the skipper for the poor performance all around.
SHORE BOATS has a lot of videos on this canal. It's a really good channel
The real loss is the fact the cameraman/editor didn't show the boat sinking...
100%!
He must've posted it on his own channel.
MAN-uh-SQUAN. Thats how you say it, fyi. Also, State cops, not locals.
The only thing Poindexter can pronounce right is that stupid gay term "my man" that's way out of style and over used🤨
I think the adults in the first boat were drunk. Those fathers were so slow and acted completely irresponsibly and the kids were trying to bail and the teen was handing out vests. The woman pouring out the beer seemed annoyed instead of going to the vest locker and handing them out. I hope the captain was cited for his reprehensible behavior.
This might be a no wake zone but they totally understand that you need to keep your bow up. I have gone three 100s of times in a 20ft cc and have never once came close to stuffing.
First captain got a channel all to himself, Brain dead boaters. Sad they lost the boat but very poor decision making there
I’m amazed at just how bad some of the operators are in overloading their boats, not operating with proper PPE, and just frankly being not having the knowledge of experience in balancing the capability to the boat with the condition of the water. I received my boating license back in the 90’s and have been operating ever since and never fail to be amazed at how people simply don’t register the dangers of boating. I’m an excellent swimmer but still wear a life jacket when I’m on the water; working in NY in law enforcement I’ve just seen too many tragedies on the water that could have been prevented by more common sense and the wearing of a life jacket. In NY life jackets are required from fall through spring for all occupants because it is just so dangerous to mix water with cold or freezing temps; I see these videos and just think how much worse things would be in NY than FL.
You are just jealous that they are richer, have more friends and spare time than you do.
@@brucebaxter6923: No; I particularly don’t like FL, it’s too hot, for me, in the summer, but is quite nice in the winter. I have a boat and operate it responsibly; every boat has its operable classification as far as passengers and weight but much like you can overload a vehicle beyond its weight rating you can overload a boat too. As far as anything else I’m not quite sure where the jealous statement comes from; I didn’t mention money at all but for you information I have an MBA own a boat and have as much free time as I care for. So you can take your prejudice and shove it.
Here as well. Before I put a foot in the boat I'm wearing a life jacket. Also I don't allow alcohol on board. It amazes me the amount of people who drink and boat.
@@penguin44ca : Seen a lot of preventable deaths that could have been prevented or at least mitigated by simply wearing a PFD, especially in cold weather because regardless of capability nature can turn the tables quite quick.
At an inlet like that with a no wake zone? The boats didn't stand a chance.
Ive been through that canal many times, the no wake zone exists for a reason. If everyone blasted through there it would just make the washing machine effect even worse
It's always that same style of sea ray with that bow that dips down that gets swamped.
The first boat I hate that design because of the bow looks angled down
I had no idea these boats came with a swimming pool.
Love the way you narrate this as if it was a real contest. Hilarious 🤣
Well, it kind of is. The boaters just do not know they are participating.
Certainly in waterways such as these, I feel like everyone in the boat (especially kids) should already have life jackets on before it hits the fan.
i don't feel sorry for them at all
Your pronunciation of Manasquan rivals that first captain's seafaring abilities.
That first boat's captain should be charged with child endangerment, but I'm guessing this dad will get off scott free. It is New Jersey.
The first boat was negligent you have people's lives in your hands. Capt should have gone down with the boat worthless
This was nice, hope we get to see more from the Point Pleasant Canal in the future! :)
“No Wake” here is a polite suggestion. When this canal is ripping, you’ll never get through here against the current if you’re not up on the throttle.
The problem is the jackasses who blast through at stupid speeds and turn it into something like Cape Horn on a stormy night.
Lots of first time boat owners out there that think it's a toy and like driving a car. With the expected outcome.
5 years for endangering life should see it right.
If you sink your boat you lose.
Point Pleasant, interesting name for the kind of ride you get.
Your not even going to show the boat going down?
We just came home from boat watching at the firehouse. Canal always pleases
But the woman on the back never spilled her drink .... it wasn't that bad ! Lol
The worst "no wake" with that design of the canal.
Yes! My home states washing machine gets some Boats Vs Haulover love!
Man-uh-squan
Yea seriously I’m a jersey shore native and that pronunciation absolutely killed me 😂
Yup !
Round 1 boat is almost under water and the Captain is still handing out life jackets. Captain tries to put on a childs life vest then takes an adult vest. So unprepared. Captain Edward Smith at the helm.
WOW
Those idiots piloting those boats with kids in the front should have their boating privileges suspended and I don't know if they were drinking beer which is more important the being a responsible boater or parent and putting everyones lives at steak.
Sad, but the saddest part is having moronic parents that drink. They can’t have fun without the drink. Poor kids. Everyone is a drunk moron. They can’t stand being sober for a moment
People do not understand why the great lakes are so dangerous..... the wind can stir up the exact same chop lake wide. I am speaking of my experience on lake erie. The Occasional novice boater will anchor from the stern.... the boat will sink. Its not a maybe.
Very important while your boat is sinking with the kids...
To save your $ 3.oo
styrofoam cooler...
Why would they build a boat that’s nose is pointed into the water? I think that’s just crappy boat design. It’s like a floating snow plow.
Stupid tax cut deep today. Are the boats limited on speed through the canal? The scout could have easily made a clean pass but kept it slow and stuffed it.
That first clip is self inflicted misery, the captain should be charged for endangering lives, just stupid.
Putting on life jackets while the boat is sinking, no different than putting on a seatbelt while the car spinning out of control and headed for a ditch
Laws around here… no booze if the boat is moving. Nice seeing the lady draining her drink vs grabbing a child in the first boat….
Canal of 'woop ass'.
What ever's on the end of it is not worth the journey. lol.
Should be closed to boats under 27 foot.
I think the Captain should have gone down with the boat. A surefire cure for stupidity.
47 kids in the boat not the first life jacket on anyone! I would bet they don't even have enough jackets !
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Why do people take drop front lake boats out into the ocean?
Late to this party…. But was nice to see mom dumping her drink out before she helps the kids. 🙄
Yea blue state running everything backwards, a no wake zone in heavy currents and waves. 🤪
How would you make it through that inlet when it's a no wake zone?
Not too bright some of these operators. That first boat will cost the owner a few bucks to recover it and get it running again.
Pours her beer out as the cops come up. I have never drank on a boat or in the water. Always wait and be safe on land.
Putting life jackets on after the event - shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a boat !
1:33…..it’s not local law enforcement. It’s the New Jersey state police.
Aren't the life jackets supposed to be on before you go out in rough water??
I hope the idiots from the first boat got fined heavy, not to mention charge them for endanger kids and forced to pay for the removal of that boat
No wake? If you can’t throttle the boat up in those conditions.. your done
lol Its pronounced Mana- Squan. You must not be local.
Really lame. Didn't show one boat going down. Just talk.
Please learn how to pronounce the word “mana-skwan” properly.
Everyone in the stern and the cover over the bow. A little more speed as well would have helped.
Can you say "trim", (that switch on the engine controls the guy obviously never used) I know that you could...
I dont know why bowriders bows aim down towards the water then load people in front pshhh
wonder how dumb they feel for sinking their boat trying to get some kids wet
F... around and find out. stupid people putting kids in danger like that
Round one capt needs to stay out from behind the wheel of a vessel.
That looks like another canal where if you stay to the sides it won’t be as bad.
That's one way of getting rid of those payments....
Would it have helped to have trimmed the motor way up to keep the bow up?
Some of the people should never be in the wheelhouse. Never.
a lot of people should never be on a boat
@@adrianp7475 lol. Too true
Is it a dumb question to ask if there is a vid of the first boat sinking?
I outta belmar and the way he said manasquan omg i am crying
So many people on that boat, so few people bailing water.
Love how the women pours the beer overboard as they are going down.
She probably noticed the marine patrol boat approaching from the left. No matter. Her empty can ended up in the water anyway.
God forbid the guy in round 2 should put his beer down.
Kids pfd isn’t even buckled
Lake scoopers don't fare well in waves.
It's all good until it...isn't.
Disagree with the first call, I think that should have been a win for the boats
Why do people buy these Sea Rays (and other brands) where the bow slopes down, especially an open bow. The hull sides should be the highest at the bow and descend going aft. Sloping down forward and after from the center isn't seaworthy, it is dangerous.
They buy lake bowriders Because they don't have a clue about boating 🤨
First boat : what were you thinking dad ...
🔥 I.B.O Irresponsable boat owners.
Where’s the video of the boat sinking ?
They will get a ticket I see open can of beer
Putting on life jackets way to late.
Point Pleasant cancel - that was fantastic content.
